Bonding
Deep endless silence filled the endless void of space.
Leo wasn't sure he liked it better than the other scenario.
Cracking. Coughing. Crying.
Hissing. Growling. Grunting.
Leo shook his head. Don't think about that know.
He looked over from behind the rock he was sitting behind,
Kraang.
Just sitting there. Still in the armor, Crouched down a bit, it looked like he was looking at the ground. He was faced away from him so he couldn't see his face but he could take a good guess on how it looked.
That same bitter mean look that he always seemed to be in.
Leo turned back and tapped his thumbs against each other, biting his lip.
Would this work? Could it?
Leo sighed, looking up to the big, dark, endless void of a sky.
How long had he been here?
A year? A few months? Two hours? A lifetime?
It was impossible to tell. There was no sun or any sign of time passing here. Heck Leo would believe it if there turned out to be no time here at all.
.....
"We could play a game?" Leo suggested, with a small chuckle behind it, trying to sound friendly.
He looked over the rock again and saw the alien ever so slightly move his body up at that suggestion.
Woah!
Leo peered over a bit more. He wasn't really sure if he expected a reaction at all, but to see one definitely intrigued him.
He had been trying to get something from this guy forever now! Was he actually onto something?
The kraang didn't move for a good moment, only making leo wanna look a little more.
"Uh- we can-
Leo tried to speak only for a huge rock to be swung at him at miles per hour.
Leo quickly backed out of the way, the rock barley just grazing him.
Leo floated back with the low gravity efficiency. Losing his footing on the ground and floating into the sky.
"You think I want to play your CHILDISH GAMES?" The Kraang roared out, throwing another big junk of rock at him.
Leo let out a loud squeak before swimming down to avoid it again, but he wasn't as lucky.
The bolder smacked into him, sending him flying back for what seemed like miles. The rock clashed into him, taking the air from his lungs.
Luckily there weren't any pillars or earth for him to crash into (not that it would really matter).
Leo took a minute to reevaluate himself before getting back up. He managed to grip his nails onto the rock and pull himself up on top of it.
He held his chest, feeling pricks of tears in the corner of his eyes.
He looked back up to The Kraang, expecting him to be right in front of him, waiting for a fight. But instead he went back to his original position.
That was a bit odd.
A part of Leo was grateful, another big fight between them wasn't anything to look forward to. But another part of him couldn't help but think...
Was it wearing down?
Leo huffed.
His chest hurt. His knees were shaky. And he hated this guy.
But he wasn't one to just give up. He had to keep trying, because he hated this silence. This loneliness. He hated to admit it but he needed someone, anyone.
Even this thing.
Leo stood up and ran across the rock to another one, and another one and another. Getting closer to the alíen.
He got close enough, but felt it was safe to keep a bit of a distance.
"Come on dude don't be like that! Hey it's either a stupid weakling game or another 1000 years of silence! I mean at least weigh your options" Leo chuckled. Keeping up his macho man attitude, no blood hungry alien could break that.
No matter how hard they tried
The Kraang didn't respond, Leo hid behind a rock again incase he was planning on throwing another piece of the ground at him.
He waited a moment. The Kraang still didn't do anything.
Leo got a little closer. Landing on the same price of rock as him.
"It could be a simple one! Like uhhh Tic Tak Toe! That's a good one! It's Raphs favorite!" Leo pestered him some more. The Kraang gave a low growl.
He felt a lump in his throat, he knew this was like poking a bear with a stick.
Leo stepped a little closer, way too close to his comfort in all honesty. But to be fair in any other scenario he'd wanna be a million miles away from this thing.
"Look dude. I don't wanna be here either, but we should at least make the most of it! I mean what do you have to lose?" Leo shrugged.
"Dignity. Self respect. Honor" The Kraang spoke. Still facing away from him.
Leo probably would've cracked a joke or a snarky remark, but he felt like it wasn't the time.
"Hey man it's just us, I won't judge"
"..."
Leo huffed, crouching down. "It's not a bad game. It's a pretty alright one too! And it's simple!" He said as he started to draw a game in the dirt,
"I'm sure it's something a big smart all powerful Kraang could han-
*CRACK*
The Kraang whipped his tail to where leo was standing, he managed to dodge it in time, sliding away from it, and good thing Leo could see the big dent in the dirt it made.
It didn't make another attack, like they wanted to be alone.
"Better than doing nothing..." Leo said a bit quieter, remaking the game on the ground.
He scooted back and bit before lying down and facing the other direction. He figured he could only pester so much, he had to let them get interested themselves.
He just hoped and prayed they would.
He felt a bit sick for it. Him hoping for the slightest bit of interaction with this monster, a monster that tries to destroy this world and kill his brothers.
The monster that got him trapped here in the first place.
The monster that tried to kill him again and again.
Leo started to hug himself. He shut his eyes and tried to think of something else. Anything else. Trying to ignore the fact that he'd be here forev-
"What is this?"
He heard.
Leo turned around and saw the beast crouched down, looking over his drawing of the board.
Leo sat up, a little taken aback from this. Yeah he hoped The Kraang would give it a chance but honestly never thought he'd do it. At least not so fast, he thought it'd be at least 20 years before he considered it.
"Uh-uh well it's umm, a-a game! Like I said" he nervously chuckled.
"Explain." He ordered coldly.
Leo gulped, but scooted in anyway.
"Uhh well it's like the board you play on! There are two symbols you can be," Leonardo started to explain as he drew an X and O next to the chart.
"Basically you put one symbol in and then I put the otehr signal in! We-we do that until one person gets three in a row! And win! Hah hah." He tried to explain the best he could.
explaining such a simple concept felt harder than he thought it would. Or maybe he was just nervous.
"Win what?" It asked.
"Uh-uh...wha?"
"What would either of us win?" The kraang repeated himself, ever so slightly more irritated.
"Well...uhm I dunno you just win. Like the game, the round" Leon shrugged but The Kraang gave him a look that clearly wasn't satisfied with that.
"The...sweet taste of victory! That's-thats a good one!" Leo smiled, but The Kraang only seemed more annoyed.
Leo shrunk a bit, "...There... doesn't have to be a prize" he scratched the back of his neck.
"Of course there does! There's no point to this if there isn't a reward! Do you things just like to waste your time?!" The alien raised his voice, starting to tower over Leon.
The turtle flinched, starting to ball himself.
"I-I don't know what to tell you! It's just for fun! You outta try it!" He snapped back.
Leo put his arms over his face, expecting them to send his back another 3 miles.
But he was not so pleasantly surprised when The Kraang rather just grabbed him and slammed him onto the ground. Digging his armored fingers into him.
"Don't test me. Trying to put me down to your level with your pathetic 'games'." It growled.
Leo huffed between each breath, grasping onto the long sharp fingers, feeling like an elephant was sitting on him.
"What...do ya- got to lose...a-anyway?" He gritted.
Leo closed his eyes, trembling lip. Waiting for the monster to rain down on him...
But instead....
He felt him let go.
Leo gasped for air, being granted it. Coughing and gagging profusely. He looked up and saw The Kraang sitting back down to where it was before, With a defeated expression.
Leo sat there for a second, waiting for them to do.... Well anything really. He wasn't sure what to do himself.
Did he really get to him?
Before he could think about it any further-
"Show me" The Kraang sighed. Looking away from him.
The turtle hesitated for a moment, but he eventually gulped and made a move.
X in lower right. -
Kraang looked up, he ogled at the game for a moment before making a move himself.
O in upper middle -
Too easy
Leo thought for a moment. He could probably beat this dude easily. But now wasn't the time.
He caught The Kraang at a vulnerable moment, one where he was so defeated inside he would actually give a game a chance, he wasn't gonna blow this by winning a cheap game.
Yeah maybe they wouldn't have friendship bracelets any time soon, but maybe, just maybe they could get on friendly enough terms so they could at least be decent to each other.
Leo couldn't take another moment against him. He was too strong, he could never beat him by himself.
Not that it'd even matter.
This...place whatever it was had some sort of immortal magic on it, preventing anyone inside from dying.
No food or water? No problem.
Age? Don't worry about it!
Repeated injury?
Won't leave a bruise.
No matter how much it hurts.
The Kraang had no mercy. No remorse. Nothing.
He tore into Leo again and again.
Punching. Smacking. Clawing. biting. Breaking.
But no matter what Leo wouldn't die. He couldn't die.
At first it enraged The Kraang, but then it Seemed to fill him with glee. Being able to perform whatever he wanted onto him.
But then it bored him. Almost killing him got old he guessed. Anything loses its freshness after some time.
So as long as Leo left The Kraang alone he wouldn't have to worry about being beaten around like a sack of meat.
But Leo just couldn't handle the loneliness. The silence. The emptiness.
It was driving him crazy.
So crazy he was willing to try to do something with this monster. Even if it got him hurt in the process.
A part of him wondered if he preferred the pain to loneliness.
"It's your turn" The Kraang spoke, snapping Leo out of his own trance.
Leo shook his head, and saw the move he made.
O lower left -
Leo made another.
Then The Kraang.
Then Leo.
Then-
"Huh?" The Kraang moved.
"You...you won!" Leo said.
The Kraang took a second to process it. "I-I did? I've won?"
"Well yeah!" Leo threw out his arms, "three in a row didn't ya?" Leo forced a smile at him.
"I-I did! I have won!" Kraang lit up. Leo swore he even saw a glint in his eyes.
"Yeah! You rock man! We can keep doing this too! Or we can try an-
Leo was cut off with a sudden grasp of his whole body. The Kraang stood up, raising Leon up, crushing him between his hands, taking the air from his lungs yet again.
"You see? I can even beat you at one of your pathetic earthy customs." He gave a low chuckle. Squeezing him more.
Leo gave a sharp gasp.
"..."
"Y-yeah! You're- you b-b beat me! Hah!" He congratulated, giving a dry laugh, tears starting to form.
He closed his eyes, praying The Kraang would make it quick.
Maybe it was dumb to think he could get anything good from this thing. Of course it'd end like this.
Leo started sniffling, waiting for The Kraang to pierce through him.
However, he instead felt the alien put him down.... Gently?
Leo opened his eyes and saw The Kraang sit back down in front of the tic tac toe board.
"Sit down." He ordered.
Leo hesitantly sat down with him again, staying silent. He waited for The Kraang to say something, worried to say something first.
"Well? What are you waiting for? Play again" The Kraang barked, catching Leo off gaurd.
"I-oh yeah! Yeah! Right." Leo nodded, swiping clean the old game and drawing a new one.
The Kraang made the first move.
O middle middle -
Leon couldn't help but give the ever so slight smile when he saw The Kraang deep into the game, like Donnie on a game of chess kinda.
X middle right -
