Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say if you find any grammar mistakes feel free to point them out!

All my life, I have never set foot outside the castle's walls.

I was always guarded and carefully watched upon, in fear of not hurting myself, yet... now, looking back in the past, I see the great mistake that was made by doing so.

«Flashback«

I was happily twirling around the castle's halls, dodging maids as I went about.

"Be careful Your Highness!" One called, her voice overly worried.

"That I will!" I smiled, running in the direction of my father's study.

My father, the King, a rather serious man, but not completely. Quite the goofball when only with me and mother.

My mother, the Queen, in the same category as father, yet her personality - much more permissive to my antics.

Both of noble blood, yet both kind beyond comprehension. Sometimes I wonder what I've done to deserve such wonderful parents.

Stopping in front of a large oak door frame, I took a moment to straighten my dress and calm my breath before knocking on the door.

"Come in." Came from inside the familiar voice of father.

Slowly opening the door, in my sight appeared the handsome figure of my dad and the beautiful frame of mother.

"Hello darling." Mother smiled as I walked closer to sit next to her on the comforter.

"Evening, mom!" I chirped. "Dad! What are you going to teach me today?"

"Hmm~? Eager are we? Alright. How about the great war between the Martel and Baratheon houses?" He offered.

"Yes! Proceed with the storytelling!"

At the bright tone in my voice, mother giggled, causing the all of us to burst out laughing.

'How I wish things could be like this forever.'

"Your Majesty! Please get down! It's dangerous!" One of the guards desperately yelled.

"There is no danger if I'm careful." I calmly stated.

Currently, I was climbing the biggest tree in the royal garden, something that I've dome thousands of times, yet this time, I got caught.

As they frantically tried to get me to stop climbing, a voice spoke over the panicked ones of the maids.

"Annalise, please get down."

It was my cousin, Jeaha, he has arrived two days ago from his travels to the eastern kingdom. When I heard he returned, I was beyond delighted to see him again.

Jeaha was the son of my father's brother, the great general of Valirya. Father told me stories about the wars he has won for us, but died in a assassination attempt the night he has returned from the battlefield. Instead for his wounds to be healed, they were poisoned even further, resulting in his instant death.

"Alright Jeaha!" I happily smiled and, leaping from the branch I was sitting on, I landed on the ground on my feet.

Jeaha was also my dearest friend, my only one actually. Ever since I was born, I never met another child that I could become close to. More reason to treasure my cousin.

"Your father is mad at you. He requests you come to his study immediately." Jeaha grimaced at me.

Instantly, I paled. 'This isn't good.'

That evening, I got scolded by both father and mother for my reckless action that may have lead to me getting hurt.

Now, in my bed, I glared at the ceiling, thinking about what I should do.

"I have to apologize." I firmly said and jumped out of bed, putting on a simple dress, I ran to my parents' chambers.

Arriving in front of the door, I was confused to see it slightly ajar.

'Now that I think about it, where are all the guards?'

Curious, I peeked through the crack in the door and froze in place.

I felt my whole body tremble at the sight of which was in front of me.

Scared, I walked forward and crumbled to the ground, the blood soaking my dress as silent tears fell from my eyes.

"You weren't asleep?" A voice asked itself.

Finally taking notice of the person in front of me, I shook even more when the person holding the bloodied sword was none other than Jeaha.

The blood dripped from the shining sword, my thorn apart figure reflecting in it.

"Jeaha what are-- did you...?" I trailed off, as more tears fell from my eyes. I took this opportunity to examine his appearance - the white robe soaked in blood, the messy black hair, his red splattered face and his eyes. Those kind blue eyes were gone, replaced by a pair of cold pools.

"What are you doing here Anna?" He asked me as if nothing has actually happened.

Placing my father's head in my lap and gently stroking my mother's face, I cried even more. "I came to apologize for what I've done today. I knew they were still mad at me...but my question is, why? Why did you kill them?"

He smiled, but it wasn't one of his kind smiles, it was a wicked one, one that made my blood boil. "Why? Because I had enough of being only the king's nephew. Enough of pretending to be the naïve princess' friend. I realised that if you want something, you must take it by force."

'Because of your selfish reasons, you sought to kill my parents, to brake me apart and take on the responsibility of being a king? You don't have what it takes to be a king.'

I glared at him, my blood racing within me.

Clenching my teeth, I stopped the tears from falling. "You could never be a king simply because you want to, traitor." I spat out at him.

"And what are you going to do? You have never in your life been outside the palace's walls. You don't know how the outside world is." He mocked me, fueling my anger.

"You believe that I care?" My voice went dark as I raised to my full height, my head no longer fallen, but held out with pride.

His face contorted from mockery to fear in an instant.

"Are you scared, Jeaha?"

I could only see red before my eyes, my blood rushed to tremendous speed through my veins. And so, my amber eyes went crimson.

«End of Flashback«

After that night, I don't remember much of what happened, only screams and the sound of wood burning, as if it were in a fireplace.

Right now, it was silent. No sound, no nothing. Just silence.

I was in a forest, covered from head to toe in fresh blood, I felt it leaking from my hands and face, blood soaking my dress and hair.

For the first time in my life, I didn't wish to return to the castle.

To be continued. . .
