In the previous chapter. . .

Blowing some air to take a strand of hair out of her face, Annalise intertwined her hands behind her back and said, "Call me Anna for now."

"Nice meeting you, Anna." Ronan smirked.

Now we continue.

"You seem to be familiar with the sea, MiLady." A voice pointed out, making Annalise's head turn to the side.

She sat near the edge of the pirate ship, the moonlight making the golden trimmings on her dress glimmer under it, her inky black hair swaying in the way of the ocean's breeze.

"I feel like I should be familiar with them, they are my native seas, Captn'." She addressed the black haired near her left, the one and only Captain Jonathan Ronan.

Smirking, his chocolate coloured eyes shining with mischief. "Is that so?"

Huffing in amusement, the amber eyed beauty asked. "Where were you born? Tortouga? Or another place dominated by pirates?"

'Changing the subject, are we?' He smirked. "More or less. Now tell me something about yourself, Lady Anna."

Arching a perfect eyebrow, she tore her gaze from the male to the starry sky. "My parents are dead." She began. "I can't really remember how they died, just that they did." Her lie went past him as he didn't dare question it. "I lived by myself for a few years, then, I..." she trailed off, a nostalgic smile playing on her lips, "I met someone. He was really nice to me, and I went with him, more like he took me with him." She chuckled at the memory of her waking up in Lukedonia's fortress. "I met people that in such a short time I began to call family for I have long forgotten its meaning. But..." she smiled sadly, "I desired explanations to my unanswered questions, so I left them standing there, wishing me good luck, as I went on my way." And so, her story concluded. "You could say that in a way, I never truly wanted to leave because back there, I received so much."

"So much what?" Ronan asked, desire for knowledge about the pretty foreign lady clearly slipping through his veins.

Turning around and walking away, she headed for her temporary sleeping quarters.

"That is a story for another day. Good night, Captain."

Watching her go, Ronan didn't even notice when one of his crew mates, a boy around eighteen years old going by the name of Jack, came up to him.

"She's got ya' wrapped around her finger, Cap." He pointed out.

"What was that?!" He voiced his surprise by yelling at his subordinate who didn't seem to even care about his captain's outburst.

"I said, she's got--"

"I heard ya' the first time." Ronan cut him off. "Honestly Jackie, you gotta learn to be less blunt."

Smiling, the younger boy said, "I guess that's just my way, sir."

The next day they were supposed to arrive in E-Rantel, the pirate crew surprised to have not encountered any difficulties in their sail.

Although that wasn't to last as the ship suddenly rocked back and forth in the salty waters, making it shake from the waters' impact on the wooden vessel.

"Enemy at starboard, Captain!" A man in his early thirties announced his superior.

"What flag?!" He questioned back.

"No flag sir. It's not a ship!"

Ronan cursed under his breath. "Fuck."

'We had to stumble upon a kraken, didn't we?!'

"Bloody hell!" He stirred harder at the helm of his ship, desperately trying to free it from the ragging waves.

"What the hell is going on here?!" Annalise yelled as she emerged on the deck.

Jack was the one to answer her. "A kraken found us, MiLady. I suggest you take cover."

Just as he finished saying that, enormous tentacles emerged from the water, peering over the small ship - in comparison with their size, making the crewmen trembled at their sight.

The red eyed creature suddenly raised to the surface, its red orbs scaring the men who stood as still as a board.

In that stiff atmosphere, Ronan smirked to himself. "So the giant octopus appears."

Ignoring the captain's statement, the sea creature's eyes glanced over everyone's form, finally settling on Annalise.

"You wish to challenge me?" The ravenette smirked, freeing herself from Jackie's grip on her arm, walking forward to be face to face with the kraken.

A screech echoed from the beast as it raised one tentacle, swinging it down to the amber eyed female.

"Anna!" Ronan cried out, only to stop as he took notice of the Lady's calm expression, uninterested even.

Just as the tentacle was mere inches away from her head, her once golden eyes burned away to reveal red, mysterious pools, brightly shining.

A shift of power made the air thick with magic, the descending tentacle stood now frozen in the air, the kraken not moving from its spot in the water.

"The odds were never in your favour, beast." She chuckled, glancing at the greenish oversized octopus. "Now," she began in a commanding voice, her eyes shining brighter than before, "take us to Valirya's port, E-Rantel."

With a screech of displeasure, the kraken reluctantly complied, picking up the ship as if it was a feather, and swam in the direction set.

Crewmen sat there, mouths wide open from the display of power that just occurred, only Jackie smirking to his captain.

"That concludes it - she's way out of your league."

Walking back to Ronan, Annalise simply said, "Remove that look from your face, Captain. It doesn't suit you."

Snapping out of his shock, the brown eyed man breathed out, "How'd you do that?" as he looked in her now ruby red orbs. "And your eyes..."

"Is it such a shock?" Annalise tilted her head. "I did not realise that you'd react this way, seeing as I was expecting this outcome."

Ronan opened his mouth to say something, only to close it back. Jack was right; she was way out of his league.

"I've been meaning to ask," the chocolate eyed captain began, his sentence directed to Annalise whose eyes were still rosemburry red, "how come you've been abel to resist my charms?"

Arching an eyebrow in an amused way, the black haired beauty smirked. "No offence Captain, but the people I have lived in the past were much more handsome than you are."

At that, Ronan deflated.

"And so, Captain's ego has been pulverized." One of the crewmen whispered, making the others laugh at his statement.

An invisible arrow went straight through the black haired male's chest, piercing not only his ego, but his pride as well.

"We have arrived." Annalise stated, her eyes turning back to their natural amber shine.

"What do you-?"

But Jack was cut off by the boat rocking once again, a abnormal screech echoing, signaling that the kraken was no longer under Annalise's influence.

Somewhere, not far in the distance, the port of E-Rantel stood tall, their final destination.

"It was a good trip Captain, your help was very much appreciated." Annalise stated, dropping a small pouch of gold on the helm of the ship, the bag's ribbon holding it in place on one of the handles of it.

She began to walk away, her cloak draped over her shoulders once again.

"Will we meet again?" The Captain asked full of hope. "I know our terms were not to see each other ever again, but I wish to know."

She stopped, slightly turning her head over her shoulder, a glimpse to her face offered to the male. "I do not know."

"Maybe, if fate decides so." And just like that, she disappeared into the crowd, only a phantom of her presence lingering in the air.

To be continued. . .

Jack:

I'm sorry for my disappearance off the face of the Earth, but I'll be under hiatus until the 24th of December, not because I no longer have any ideas to write, but because I find myself unable to have the time to update a chapter, plus, I'm working on other drafts as well.

I hope you can wait until then, my dear readers.

Also, I suggest you hold on to your hats, everyone.

Next chapter's gonna make you confused af.
