Part 3

As I looked around for him, I started to think, "Should I actually run?" The king did say I would be a great queen, but I don't want to be queen, I never did. I never even wanted to marry Edward. Why can't he just choose one of the thousands of other women who do want to marry him? Him becoming the king makes everything even more difficult than it already was, but maybe I should still run. He cannot make me do anything I don't want to if I'm not here. Tonight when everyone's asleep and the moon lights the sky I will run, even though it may create a bigger problem, I at least have to try. I finally found Arthur with my parents and told them, "The king is very close to death, in fact he may even be dead by now." "That's awful news," my family replied. I nodded and then Arthur, looking at the box asked, " What do you have in your hands?" "It's a crown," I said while opening the box and showing them, "It's a tradition in our kingdom for the current queen to pick a piece of jewelry to give to the woman marrying the crown prince. During the wedding celebration, the King is supposed to give it to the future queen. As the king was not likely to make it to the wedding celebration, he gave it to me now."

With all that said, I turned to leave and go back to the garden. Arthur started to follow me and asked me, "Do you have a better plan, or are you still just going to run?"

"I know it's not a good plan, but so far it's the only one I have," I replied to him.

"Why not just stay here, it would be a better plan."

"Because here, I am trapped. I don't want a loveless marriage and I don't love Edward. I am going to run and there is nothing you or anyone else can do to stop me."

"So I guess I should say goodbye to you right now then."

"I'm not leaving just yet. I'm going to leave tonight when everyone's asleep. Also please don't tell anyone about my plan."

He nodded and said, "I promise I will not tell anyone do not worry, your secret is safe."

"Thank you, I know I can at least trust you Arthur."

"Where did Edward propose to you, I'd really love to see it."

"Of course you would, come on. Follow me." I started walking to the garden and then Arthur asked me, "Where are you running away to?"

"I don't know," I replied, "I hadn't really thought about that part."

"Don't you think it will be hard to run away from the King, who has thousands of people following his every order."

"I know, but I know when every person in the castle passes by every door. Who is on shift at what times. I can disguise myself so no one, not even you could find me." We reached the middle of the garden and came to a stop. Arthur then said while looking around, "So this is where he proposed, and he filled it with all your favorite flowers."

"How does he know my favorite flowers, Arthur?"

"Well I don't know, he's the king, he probably has people everywhere to tell him, " he said nervously.

"So you mean to tell me that you never once told him on the countless occasions when they would come to visit us and he only talked to you the entire time?"

"Okay, fine. Yes, I told him. He asked me a question and I simply answered it. He only wanted to know what they were because you were his favorite flower."

"That makes no sense, he doesn't even know me. Yesterday was the first time when he said more than the words hello and how are you doing to me."

"He must really love you then.why don't we talk about this while we head back, dinner should be soon."

"Fine, but could you at least be on my side."

"Let's see be on the side of the King, who has power over the entire country. Or be on your side, someone with no power whatsoever."

"I'm your sister, surely that matters more than power."

"Yes, but you're only my half sister and Edward is ruling the kingdom."

"You've known me longer."

"Alright, fine. how about this, I will agree to support you, but I may not agree with you."

"Okay, as long as you support me, I'm fine with that. also you can't tell anyone I'm only your half sister."

" I know, mother and father would be furious if I were to tell someone, but not if you were. They only care because you care for it not to be said out loud."

"I'm only worried about our father's reputation."

"Which is a noble thing, but you should at least tell Edward, since you are engaged to him."

"I know, but I'm surprised no one has figured it out yet, I look nothing like you, father, or mother."

"I know we all have brown hair and brown eyes, while you have blonde hair and blue eyes. There's many other traits that are different as well, but those are some of the main ones."
