Chapter 16: First Teamwork (Conundrum)

Nyx Chantal's POV

It was yesterday when we saw someone lying on the cold ground of the comfort room. That someone was Charm pala. Di ako makapaniwala na talagang pinupuntirya ng killer ang section namin.

Who might the killer be? Bakit niya kami iniisa-isa?

Nandito ako ngayon malapit sa principal's office kasi talagang madadaanan mo ito before ka makapunta sa room ng Deity. It was just 100-150 steps away from section Deity while you'll need to take 200-300 steps from our room to see the other section.

Ang room kasi ng Deity, parang isang bahay. Hindi kami nakahalo sa mga section 2 pababa. Di ko alam trip nila. Air conditioned ito at mas malaki sa dapat na sukat nito para sa 34 na estudyanteng nadagdagan pa ng isang transferee. Well, mas bumaba nga ang bilang namin dahil sa mga namamatay. 6 na ang namatay so far but I can't still identify the killer.

Back to the topic, what do you expect? Noble academy is known as one of the best academy that you will see here in the Philippines.

Naglalakad pa rin ako nang makarinig ako ng boses na nagtatalo.

"What are you talking about maam?! This isn't right! If you want to--" naputol ako sa pakikinig ng paguusap ni Ma'am Henderson at ng principal dahil may tumapik saaking malamig na kamay.

"Holy crap!" nasabi ko ng biglaan dahil sa gulat.

"What are you doing here, you little scuttlebutt digger.." si Ea lang pala.

"Geez, I'm not a gossiper. I just passed by and I heard them and I became curious so I listened and.. and..." napailing si Ea dahil sa sinabi ko. Ugh, I can't lie when Ea's the one who's confronting me.

Wait. Does this mean that we're okay?

Nagsimulang magtubig ang mata ko.

"I hate you, Ea!!!" sabi ko tsaka ko siya niyakap. Hindi naman ito tumanggi sa yakap ko.

"No, you don't. We both know you can't." sabi nito sakin. Buti naman at natapos na rin siya sa pagdadrama niya!

We were all busy with our own stuffs as we let the time pass. Naka tunganga kaming lahat, wala kasi si Ma'am Henderson. Maybe late kasi nga narinig namin kanina diba na naguusap sila ng principal?

As for Gaea and I, we're back to the old us. Kaso talagang may pang-gulo. Si Yoshi. She's been meddling on our affair since she got here.

Nalipat ang atensyon ko sa bagong dating na si Heidi, ang president ng Deity with all smile and that completes the class attendance of the Deity since marami na ang nawala. May naisip akong gawin habang naghihintay.

"Ea, how about we'll spend our time playing truth or dare?" saad ko. Napa-tingin naman sakin si Ea at nakita ko sa peripheral vision ko ang babae na si Yoshi, geez, napa-tingin din siya sakin.

"Seriously? What are you thinking? Are you a kid or what? Truth or dare? Lame!" ganti nito sakin. What? Truth or dare isn't lame! We used to play that a lot. Jeez. Maybe if she's not here, I can play with Ea.

"Knock knock muna please. I'm not talking to you." I said then rolled my eyes. I saw her lips moved but she didn't said anything kasi biglang may nag-pop up sa harap. Parang powerpoint ganun, ang nakakagulat lang, wala kaming teacher. So anong gagawin namin dun?

"Good afternoon to all of the students here in section Deity. I believe that all of you is smart so I decided to give you guys a play and it's all up to you if you'll going to make it good! All of you is present so I believe that we shall start.." nabasa naming nakalagay sa harap. Para kaming nakikita ng taong nasa likod ng powerpoint na to. Who's handling the AVR (audio visual room) anyway? Maybe they can explain what's happening!

Tumayo ako sa kinauupuan ko at balak ko lumabas kaso nang nasa harap na ako ng pinto, hindi ko ito mabuksan..

"What the hell is happening?" pagkatalikod ko sa pinto, nakita ko ang mga mukha ng kaklase kong naka-kunot ang mga noo.

"No, no, no.. don't tell me the killer is up to kill again?! Tama na please! We're all tired losing someone important to us!" saad ni Princess. We're still not sure who the killer is, and if what happened lately is all connected pero kailangan may gawin kami.

"As of now, I have imagined someone trying to open the door. Too bad because someone already locked it. All you need to do Deity if you want to get out of that room is decode the code I'm going to give and if not, then live here.. forever." isa nanamang imahe ang lumabas.

Takot at kaba ang nararamdaman ng lahat pero nanatili akong kalmado. I have this feeling that no one will get killed if we solved the problem.

Umingay ang lahat dahil sa panibagong nabasa. Bumalik ako sa upuan ko at hinayaan ang ibang lalaki na ang magbukas ng pintuan pero wala talaga silang magawa para mabuksan iyon. Remember that we used our own Id para makapasok sa door diba? So it's also hard to break that door since ang frame nun ay metal. Jeez, I don't really get this school.

"Ea, what do you think of this?" nakuha ko naman ang atensiyon ni Ea pero iba nanaman ang sumagot sa tanong ko.

"I guess, we just have to follow their orders." sabi ni Yoshi.

"You're not Ea! Stop answering the questions that was suppose to be for her!" sigaw ko dito pero nabaling nanaman ang paningin namin nang may mag-flash ulit na panibagong imahe.

"Let's start! Here's the code that you're going to solve. Solve it right with all your might!

We're too busy to the point that wala ka nang maririnig kundi tibok ng puso namin tanda ng pagkakaba.

Kinopya ko ang mga letra sa papel ko. Pero kahit anong gawin kong pagiisip, wala talaga akong makuha sa isip ko. Ugh! My brain isn't working! What's with that letters ba? I can't get something from it!

Is that some kind of a cipher or something? I know some of the ciphers and I tried those but I can't really get something from those letters.

I tried thinking of the possible acronyms of the letters but wala talaga.

Narinig kong may bumuntong-hininga. Tinignan ko ito at nakita ko si Heidi. Ang presidente ng klase. Wait? Did she just give up?

Tumayo siya sa kaniyang inuupuan at nag simulang magbilang ng limang hakbang papunta sa kanan. Nang marating niya iyon, tumigil siya.

Gumaya naman ang iba kong mga kaklase. So they give up? Gusto kong gumaya sa kanila at pumunta na rin sa kanan pero something tells me that I must solve this because if not, then who will?

I tried reading it again.
