MIA

After that weird drama, I walked over to the table. The Alpha is still staring at the door intensely with his eyes hard and his nostrils flared. I bowed at the Luna and said, "Luna, would you like to have your daily check up now?"

She smiled at me softly, "Sure, I don't mi-" But she was cut off when the Alpha intervened

"Have you had sex with him?" He growled. I was taken aback by his personal question. The Luna covered Xavier's ears, "Xander!" she growled. 

He glanced at her as if telling her to please not interrupt. She frowns at him in confusion. He turned back to me with hard eyes, "Answer the question, Mia. Have you?"

I shook my head. I couldn't really speak at this point. I've never had anyone try to confront me on something I did not commit. The Alpha stood up to his full 6'4 height. He took a step forward and I took a step back. My heart was pumping against my chest, my palms began to feel damp.
He lowers his head down to my height and said, "Are you sure?"

With a stiff neck, I nodded my head shakily, "Yes," I whispered, "I never touched him inappropriately. I only ever touch him to try and help."

Alpha stared at me for a bit longer as if waiting for me to crack and admit that I did. But he didn't push any further. He turned to his wife whispered something in her ear and kissed her on the forehead. He turned his son and kissed him on the forehead too. The Alpha then stormed out of the room as if he was on a mission. I just stood there silently, not knowing what to do.

"Mia." I looked up to see the Luna. She smiled at me softly, "It's okay. My mate can be...intense when someone isn't who he thinks they are. But don't worry, he wasn't really angry at you. He was angry at someone else."

"Noah." I guessed

She nodded silently. But then she raised her hand towards me, "Come, let's do the check up shall we?"

NOAH

I couldn't be in there anymore. I couldn't watch that. I walk back in forth in my room, pacing the floor in anger. I snarl and growl and shout. I feel like ripping this whole place apart. Why am I reacting this way? I haven't even known her for that long! what the hell! 

"What the hell was that back there?" I turn around to see Xander standing in the doorway.

I shake my head at him, "Not now Xander, not now. I feel like ripping someone's head off and I don't know why." I growled.

He took a step forward, "Do you have some kind of attachment to her? Is that it? Have you had sex with her?"

I began to fume and look at him like he was crazy, "Of course I haven't had sex with her! What the hell is wrong with you! If I did she would be dead by now! You know I cannot have that with her! I don't feel anything for her!" I shouted at him

"Then why have you been acting different ever since we got back! You're more angry, emotional and irritable! What the fuck is going on Noah?" he shouted back

"I DON'T KNOW!" I yelled. We both stood before each other fuming. I shake my head, "I don't know what is going on with me. I hate this unexplained feeling towards her. I want to get rid of it."

Xander sighed loudly, "Maybe-"

I quickly turn around and say, "Don't say it. I know what you're about to say and don't say it. I've accepted it and by you just saying that you're just giving me hope. I can't live with hope anymore Xander. If I do I'll probably kill myself."

Xander silently nods, "Then what about Sophie, you're fiance. She's going to expect you to be with her...in all ways."

"We both know that Sophie and I will never love each other. She might find her mate and that's fine, she can be with him as long as the paper says that we are married, the alliance is safe."

I saw guilt reflecting in the Alpha's eyes, "I'm sorry I put this marriage on you. I got you stuck in this life."

I shake my head, "I chose it, but not for me...for this pack, for you, for Lizzy and Kieth. Kieth needs a mother. Sophie will be good for him."

Xander nods in understanding, "Come on man, let's go."

I look at him and frown, "Where?"

"To my office. There's some information on the rogues that Eddie found out. Let's go see what he has to say."

"Matheseus wasn't the only one," Eddie said. 

Xander and I were sitting on the couch listening.

"What do you mean not the only one?" Xander growled.

"I mean that he was a sector in a series of sectors. We always thought that Matheseus was the top leader...he wasn't. He was one of three. He was the first sector which was the recruitment, but because he was a sick bastard he used that to feed his sick desires. The next one was the training sector, the place where they would train the boys for a couple of years until they had no humanity...just killing machines. The third sector is kind of like school. They teach them to act like us, think like us."

"What is the purpose of all of this. Does he want to take over this pack? Kill me? Kill Lizzy?"

Eddie shakes his head, "I'm not sure yet. I found all of this information through some old paper at Matheseus's old place. It was transfer papers of the boys, how many, what age. all that kind of stuff. Then I found more about the series of sectors. I don't think it's over Xander. I think Matheseus was just one small part of the big picture."

Xander rubs his face. He was stressed. "Okay...keep digging." 

He turns to me,"Tell Soul to double the guards and that he is officially Lizzy's personal guard as well." I nod my head. Xander silently stands up and walks out. I am guessing he is going to Lizzy for some comfort. He acts like a big bad wolf in front of all of us men, but we all know he's a big softy when it comes to Lizzy.

"I'd also be careful if I were you too Noah," Eddie says.

"Why?"

"Us being allies of Sophie's pack, it will make us more powerful. they may try to break that in whatever way they can."

I nod at the advice.

"I think I won't let Kieth run around freely anymore. I'll ask Lizzy if she could take care of him during the day."

Eddie nods in agreement.
