Sun clicked the power button on her phone and her screen went black as she stuffed her cellphone into her pocket after replying to an instagram post that had been left underneath their promo for the repackaged album. She looked up at the two newest people that were joining them for breakfast that morning, Yeojin and Chaewon of their sunbaenim group Roser-lo. Minnie and Sun were curious to know why the two had been put on hiatus by Pledis Entertainment, and had been quick to ask, but their leader Sarang scolded her two younger members, asking them to stop pestering their unnies.

The maknae of Baby Lips waited a whole hour--until they were all done with breakfast and had cleared the table--when she saw her opportunity to ask the question. "Will you tell us why you were put on hiatus, unnies?" She eyed Yeojin and Chaewon with curiosity.

Yeojin heaved a sigh and brought a hand to her forehead in a symbol of frustration that she was feeling--not at her dongsaeng, but at the agency for having forced them into a break. "Its such a troublesome story to tell, honestly."

"Its really not." Chaewon said bluntly, disagreeing with her group mate. "It was two reasons. Each of us was suspended for different things." The two girls were sat next to each other at the table, Chaewon gestured to Yeojin, "Unnie was kinda temporarily blacklisted by Pledis after some of our members left the company, and she said she supported their move to SM Entertainment--also known as the source of all evil in the world."

Yeojin tried to correct her. "What I said was that I supported them, as former members of Roser-lo. Not necessarily that I supported a move to SM Entertainment. That was taken out of context. Either way, who am I to judge them if they wanted to join another agency? I don't run their lives."

"Fair enough." Her group mate replied before continuing. "And then for me it was dating rumors--lots of fucking dating rumors. The most common was with Kyuhyun of Super Junior." Chaewon added with a sigh of her own, her fighting spirit dwindling slightly from the eager way in which she had argued with her older band mate just moments earlier. At the mention of dating rumors, Sun tensed slightly. She was on the same boat. She was surprised whenever there wasn't a new dating rumor started about her. Now she was afraid that she would also be suspended from group activities like her older label mate.

"The media even gave them a ship name." Yeojin informed them. "Chaekyu."

"They gave you and Ryeowook oppa a ship name too." Chaewon quickly argued back. "Wookjin."

"We're not dating." Yeojin pointed out.

"Neither are Kyuhyun oppa and I." Her friend replied, wide eyed.

Looking at the time on her cellphone, Yeojin asked the group of younger girls. "What do you have scheduled for today? Are we distracting you?"

Sarang gave a shake of her head and replied with a respectful and polite smile. "You're not distracting us from our duties, unnie. All we have planned is a Q&A live stream in a half hour to promote for the repackaged album. You should join us."

Yeojin crinkled up her nose. "I'm not sure if your managers would like that."

"Who cares what they think." Chaewon snorted as she nudged her group mate. "They put us on hiatus, not sentenced us to death. I think our presence will go unnoticed by them."

A group of thirteen girls, which would soon turn into fourteen girls, was sat in front of a computer screen camera for their live stream. They had strategically planned their seating arrangement, so that all of the girls would be visible on the screen. They were two rows of five and one row of four at the front. The leaders Sarang and Yoona were in the middle of the front row with Sun and Minnie planking them.

Chaewon had left to retrieve some snacks she and Yeojin bought for the girls to share. The live stream started out with the girls saying their rehearsed group greeting. "Hello, we are Baby Lips. Twelve members, one love." All of them were wearing custom made pink letterman jackets with the Pledis Entertainment logo and the words Pink Ladies on them. Each of them also had their name sewn into the upper left area--right above their heart--both in English and Hangul. Then Sarang introduced the Q&A session, explaining how they were going to proceed. She also mentioned the presence of Yeojin and Chaewon, who was still not back. 

Just as they were answering their first question--what was to be expected in the repackaged album--Chaewon walked into the room with a tray of snacks. Without even looking up or perceiving that they had started filming, she casually asked the group, "Before the camera starts rolling, do any of you know how Minseok is doing?" By Minseok, she had been precisely referring to the EXO member. The girls of Baby Lips knew exactly how he was doing, since they kept up with everything EXO did and vice versa.

Within seconds, the internet exploded and their stream was overflowed with questions about Chaewon and Minseok possibly dating. Sarang had excused herself and the other girls for a moment and paused the live stream while everyone watching managed to calm down. 

Yeojin facepalmed herself. "Chae can't tell when a camera is rolling apparently."

"Well excuse me for not having magical camera sensing abilities, Seo Yeojin." Chaewon rolled her eyes at her group mate, fully aware that she had committed a slip up. But she wasn't entirely surprised that there would be yet another dating rumor about her. She was used to it by now.

"I thought you did." Yeojin taunted. "I thought you were a bruja."

"What did she call her?" Jai asked, confused. 

The girls of Baby Lips were learning Spanish from Minnie, since they were required to learn four languages. But they didn't exactly get much practice time with their busy schedules. The only one of them who was getting better at grasping the language was Sun, and that was only because she and Minnie were best friends and always shared a room together whenever they traveled abroad. Sun was always either with Minnie or with the group's leader Sarang.

"Bruja. A witch." Minnie translated. No one in the room besides Yeojin and Chaewon had outright acknowledged their unnie's slip up. There was nothing they could say about it anyway. "Why don't you guys just learn Spanish already?" She added a teasing question.

"Why, when we have you?" Rin gave a shrug of her shoulders.

"One day Jin unnie and I should abandon you all in Latin America, para que aprendan lo que es amar a Dios en tierra de indios." She finished her sentence with a Spanish saying. So that you can learn what it is to worship God in the land of the indigenous, as it translated literally. The only person who understood what she said was Yeojin, who--like Minnie, had been born in Mexico to Korean parents.

Not having understood the Spanish part of what her group mate said, Kia said, "English please."

Minnie rolled her eyes, "So you can learn what it means to struggle, pabo." She gave them the meaning behind the Spanish saying.

"So what are we going to do about the live stream?" Sun asked, looking around at the thirteen other girls in the room.

Taking up her role as leader of the group, Sarang came to a solution. "We'll continue with the Q&A without Yeojin and Chaewon unnies appearing in the video, and we'll ignore any questions that might be asked about her and Minseok oppa. I know that when the agency finds out about this, they're not going to be pleased, but they'll find a way out of this." The girls all nodded in agreement, even the two older girls who were there as guests of the live stream, but would no longer be appearing for the rest of the segments.

For the rest of the live stream, Yeojin and Chaewon remained in the room, but they did not appear in front of the camera.

When the managers found out about the incident in which Chaewon had mentioned EXO's Minseok, they hadn't been pleased to say the least. But they told the girls to ignore it, hoping that it would make the problem go away. For the next couple of days while the situation died down, the girls had smaller schedules to fulfill. Minnie was attending photo shoots for promotional posters in Spanish which would be distributed in Latin America--but those were for her own solo album project. 

By the end of that week, she had gotten on a plane that would take her back to the country of her birth. It was said that she would be arriving in Guadalajara, and that her boyfriend Isaac would be at the airport to wait for her. Korean media had gone as far as to travel to the Latin American country only to capture that reunion moment on film first.

In Minnie's absence, Yoona, Kia, Sarang, and Bom had gone out to one of the dance studios for daily practices as the main dancers in the group. Jai and Nahre had gone to work on composing raps for an upcoming project they were planning to work on together, along with Yoona. Rin spent most of her time rehearsing lines for a Vietnamese web drama she had been cast as the main protagonist for. The girls that were left had either gone to their solo vocal lessons or instrument lessons separately. Sun had been given most afternoons off so that she could spend it with Aron. But instead she spent her free time with the two older label mates of hers.

They were in their lounge room area of the dorms, watching a show about idol news and gossip called Soda Pop, when the MC was handed information of something important that had happened in China. He informed the television audience that one of EXO's members had been allegedly seriously injured during the filming of a game show which they were participating in. The show was then cut off to commercials for suspense purposes and Sun felt as though her entire world came to a stop.

Sun knew that Yixing had left for China just a few days prior to participate in a game show. She also knew that the show was known notoriously because many of their invitees ended up injured. Her heart sank at the thought that it might be Yixing.

"Wow, poor boy." Yeojin commented, pity reflected on her face.

Chaewon only nodded in agreement.

Sun was both speechless and motionless. Her eyes were glued to the television screen, waiting for the bit of news to continue with more coverage that might let her know who the injured EXO member was. There are six boys in EXO-M, she told herself with worry, trying to reassure herself. It doesn't have to be Yixing.

When the show returned from its commercial break, the MC continued, "EXO's Tao was injured during the filming of the popular Chinese game show Do Your Best!. The SM idol was taken by emergency private plane back to Korea for a medical evaluation. The rest of the members will conclude filming for the day and will later join their group mate back in Korea. We wish EXO's Tao a fast recovery!" He said, and the image was cut off to raw footage of Tao participating at one of the show's events in which it could be seen in the blurry image how his leg seemed to snap. 

While the video was playing, the MC commented that according to experts who had seen the footage, it was possible that Tao was very seriously injured. Some even speculated that he might not be able to dance again due to his injury.

Sun heaved a sigh of relief.

But she immediately felt terrible for being happy that it was someone else injured and not Yixing. She didn't wish something like that onto anyone.

so this chapter finishes off with tao suffering an injury. and yes. its the same injury that pulls yena into sm entertainment and starts off our story for replacement.
