*a/n: why is he so fucking precious? i cry*
The subgroup that would be promoting in China for the nest few weeks left for the airport after having breakfast together--as a complete group with all twelve members. The girls of BLK wished their BLM group members good luck and the six girls were off, taken to a foreign country where they would spend their upcoming days. Meanwhile the Korean subgroup would be doing the very same things, but they had the luxury of being able to remain at home.
Although, Korea wasn't home to all of them.
As a group of twelve members who had been put together by Pledis Entertainment, the agency had specifically made sure that the larger groups were as diverse as possible. Of twelve members in Baby Lips, only six had been born in Korea. The rest had been born in different places around the world like Vietnam, USA, China, Canada, Mexico, and Japan, but had moved to Korea at a young age, or whose parents were Korean and were abroad at the time that the girls were born.
The most diverse of the group were placed into BLM who mostly promoted in Mandarin, but occasionally also promoted in Vietnamese, Japanese, English, and Spanish.
Though Sun had accepted it early on when she was a trainee at Pledis, she still could not understand what she was doing as a member of BLM. She always thought she would be placed in BLK with her other group members who were Korean and had lived in Korea all their lives. She didn't speak an ounce of any other foreign language. But from the moment they were placed into subgroups, she had been required to learn at least four languages, a rule that had been implemented since the time when their predecessors, the girl group Roser-lo had been debuting.
Sun wasn't American born like Hani, nor was she born in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico, like Minnie. But she had convinced herself that she would get the most from learning the most widely used languages in the world. It was the reason why she had chosen to learn Mandarin, English, Spanish, and Japanese.

The flight to China had been short, about two hours, and even so, Sun had found the time to fall asleep on the plane. She had been woken up upon arrival by Yoona, who had sat next to her and followed Saris' request to watch their maknae like a hawk.
They were all suspicious of her strange behavior of the last few months, and they wanted to find out what was causing it.
Sun combed her fingers through her long, dark hair, which had been pulled back into a pony tail. But her moment of sleep had messed it up and she pulled the hair tie from her head, releasing her hair that fell past her shoulders. She was quick to fix it and tie it back into a pony tail as they left the plane and made their way to the terminal where there would no doubt be waiting reporters and photographers for them. It had only been about a day that EXO-M had returned from China and she was sure the comments from the media would see no end.
Yoona held Sun close to her, shielding her from the blinding lights of the cameras as though she were her body guard rather than the sub group's leader.
"Baby Lips!" Reporters shouted over and over, trying to get their attention.
But the girls ignored them and kept walking. They weren't allowed to talk to the media without being properly monitored by Pledis Entertainment. This was to prevent them from saying anything that could harm their own reputation, as well as that of their company.
They were nearly out of the airport and close to the drop off zone where there were cars waiting for them, when a reporter shouted a question that grabbed the maknae's attention. It was more of a taunting comment than a question, rather. "Baby Lips, how does it feel always having to wait for EXO to finish promoting in China before you can have a chance at it? How does it feel to always get their sloppy seconds?"
Sun stopped abruptly, feeling the anger bubble up inside her.
But that was what they wanted. More drama.
More insulting comments between both groups. It fueled the media and kept them relevant, giving them something to talk about.
Though Sun loved Yixing--he was her boyfriend after all--she absolutely detested his group because it was true. They did often end up getting their sloppy seconds, not just with promotions abroad, but with everything. They could never top EXO, hard as they tried, and that irritated all of them, especially Sun.
Wrenching herself out of her leader's protection, she turned to the reporter who shoved a microphone in her face. She took a deep breath to calm herself. Suddenly there were waiting cameras their red lights flickering signaling that they were recording her, awaiting a good answer. Without removing her sunglasses, but forcing a confident smirk onto her face, she took a whiff of the air, and commented, as though barely realizing something. "All I can say is...they made the airport smell like a lack of talent has been here recently."
With that, she left the reporters with the comment that would surely make it onto the front page of their gossip tabloids.

Another hour and a half and the incident at the airport was past them. In the car, she had gotten a scolding not only from her group's leader, but also from one of the Pledis managers. Though the manager thought her response had been a good one, he still warned her that it wasn't smart to make comments like that without them being approved by the agency.
Sun apologized, but pointed out that they had been poking at her, trying to get her to speak.
At the hotel, the room keys were distributed and Sun got to share a room with Lee Mina--the groups other main vocalist who went by Minnie, and had been born in Lagos de Moreno. Of the girls in the group, Minnie was the only one who had a boyfriend--not counting Sun who was in a secret relationship with Lay of EXO. According to her constant gushing and fangirling over him, she was going out with a famous Mexican football player named Isaac Brizuela--who went by the nickname Conejito, or The Bunny in English.
He was twenty three years old--two years older than her--and they had met when she lived in Mexico for ten years due to her father's job. Even after she returned to Korea they had continued to communicate through emails and letters, but it wasn't until just a year before Baby Lips' debut that he confessed he was in love with her and they started a relationship.
For the girls of Baby Lips, it was a common joke to tell the two of them that Minnie was more Mexican than he was. That was because she had been born in Lagos de Moreno to Korean parents, and he claimed that he had been born there as well. But when the roster for the Panamerican Games was revealed in 2011, it was discovered that in reality Isaac Brizuela had been born in San Jose, California to Mexican parents, and not in Mexico.
Sun almost dreaded having to share the room with Minnie. She loved her group member and she had nothing against Isaac. She had never talked to him and had only seen pictures and heard things about him through Minnie, but she knew from the other girls that Minnie and Isaac would talk on the phone for hours on end. So much that normally, either one of them ended up with a lack of sleep the next morning.
If Sun wanted to talk to Yixing, she would have to wait for Minnie to fall asleep, and she didn't know how long that would take.
She saw her prayers answered when a half hour into their phone call, her group mate fell asleep. Sun sighed in relief and tip toed her way to Minnie's bed, where her room mate laid fast asleep. She took the phone from beside her ear and looked at the screen, the call was still ongoing.
Bringing the phone to her own ear, she said to Minnie's boyfriend in the best spanish she had learned over the past two years, "Hello, Isaac?"
"Min?" He asked.
"Minnie fell asleep. She's had a long day." Sun explained into the phone, hoping she wouldn't say anything that didn't make sense. The truth was the flight had only been two hours and not tiring at all, but she was sure Minnie had spent the previous night on the phone with Isaac, and it was the reason why she had been put out like a light during their phone call. "She'll probably call you tomorrow." The group's maknae finished.
"Oh." Isaac said from the other end of the phone. "Okay, gracias. Adios."
The call ended within a few seconds and Sun placed the phone on her nightstand. Now with a newfound excitement, she hurried to her luggage and got out her electric blue colored laptop.
She took it to the empty closet nearby, which would soon be filled with their things for the next few weeks, and turned on the light after closing the door and locking it behind herself. She plopped down on the floor and logged into her skype account, hoping that Yixing would be online.

It was nearly four in the afternoon and the boys had recently returned from their dance practices at the SM Town building. It had been an easy schedule for the day after weeks of heavy promoting in China for EXO-M. Now they had been given only a few hours of practice and the rest of the day off, which most of his group mates had been delighted to have. Most returned to the dorms, hopped in the shower, and left as quickly as they could, ready to enjoy what was left of the day.
Yixing stayed behind, hoping to hear from Sun, wondering if she had gotten to China okay. For him, promoting in China was returning to his home. But he knew that wasn't the case for his beloved. She was Korean and visiting China was visiting an unfamiliar place.
His room mate, Jong-dae, had been one of the few who hadn't gone out that afternoon. He was in the room listening to music with his earbuds in when Yixing's phone rang loudly with a request for a skype call. He looked at his cellphone screen to find it was his girlfriend calling him and he knew he needed to act fast, as it would later be more difficult for her to communicate with him.
He grabbed his laptop off his bed and raced out of the room, barefoot and all in his hurry to find a quiet place where no one would see him talking to the enemy. He felt himself lucky when he peeked into the lounge room and say it empty.
Yixing hurried inside and locked both doors so that no one would enter.
He then sat at one of the couches and opened up his laptop to accept the skype call that was coming in for him. From the moment that he accepted it, he saw her face on his screen and a wide smile formed on his lips. He also noticed the dimly lit surroundings where she was, almost like she was in a cupboard.
Sun waved a greeting, the smile on her face was too difficult to contain. "Hello baobei." She said to him.
"Jagiya." He said breathless, as though it were the first time he had seen her in years.
And that's what it felt like to him.
