Chapter 14: You think you have problems?
I'll honestly say that I have no idea what happened for a few days.
The last thing I remembered was having something sharp pricked into my arm and the next thing I knew I was standing in a soundproof room with cusioned walls and robots that were blown to bits surronding me.
I blinked in surprise. "Uh, what's going on?"
No one answered me. There was a buzzing in my head, like I was forgeting something, but I wasn't sure what it was. "Hey!" I yelled, my voice booming in the empty room, making me wince slightly. "Let me out of here!"
"You don't make the rules, anymore," said a voice that echoed my own. Reverse me. Yay...(not!). "You work for us now."
"And what if I want to quit?" I asked.
"No, its more like a servent or slave, not a job."
"Perfect," I muttered. "Uh, w-what did I do exactly?" I asked.
"What does it matter? You've finally dug deeper into yourself and used your powers at their greatest." Was that...admiration in her voice? Pride? Sarcasm? I really couldn't tell, because I knew I was terrible at showing emotions, so Kayla probably was too.
She looked me up and down. "But you can't go around looking like that."
I looked down at my jean capris, sweater and converse. "Why not?" I asked.
"Demons don't look like that," Kayla argued.
"Well, I'm not a demon. And I'm comfortable right now, so don't change my clothes or anything!"
She sighed too loudly. "You're so difficult!"
"You're one to talk."
You should have an argument with yourself one of these days. You find out a lot about your personality.
She eventually gave up and grabbed my wrist. "Let's just go."
She teleported us to a room with a long table, which I guessed would fit both my mom and dad's families in easily, but only had four chairs. Mabel and Dipper were sitting at opposite sides of the table. Kayla brought me to my seat and sat across from me. No one said anything, but I was just glad to be eating something.
It was a three course meal, and I've never been a huge eater, but I swear I ganied at least three more pounds with that! I sipped my water and glanced from Mabel, to Kayla, to Dipper and back. They all seemed to be watching me. I gulped. "Uh...thanks for the meal."
Mabel smiled. "Of course," she said, a little too plesently. "We've been working you so hard. And, if you're going to be a part of our team..."
I blinked. "Um...what makes you think I'll help you?"
"It won't be your choice," Dipper said.
I hadn't noticed that Kayla had disapeared until then. She came up from behind and put something on my head. I jumped, trying to pull it off. It was like a metal headband, like some of those princesses wore. As I tried to pull it off, a shock went through my body. I let out a yelp of surprise and pain.
Mabel and Dipper were suddenly beside me and grabbed my arms. "You'll make a nice addition to our team," Dipper said with a smirk.
I tried to get free, but another shock went through my body. I yelped again. It was like a shock collar for humans. I hated it.
"Kayla," Mabel said. "Please take our guest to her room."
By room, I guessed they meant holding cell. Kayla grabbed the back of my shirt and we teleported to my "room".
It was surprisingly big. The bed looked comfortable enough, there was a wardrobe, a bookcase, and a light. Kayla shoved me in and locked the door. The walls and floors were made of concrete, which made the cell cool. I wrapped myself in a blanket and layed down on my bed. The headband hurt my head, but I couldn't get it off.
I sighed and walked over to the wardrobe. There were a ton of clothes in there, and few of them that I would want to wear. I grabbed a pair of pajama pants and stayed in my sweater. They were comfortable enough, so I made my way to bed. I glanced at the lights and they turned off instantly, making me jump. I glanced at them again and they turned on. Must be my powers.
I wrapped myself up in all the blankets on my bed, which seemed like just enough to keep me warm. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get to sleep. I turned the light back on and looked through the bookshelf. Only a few things intested me, so I chose one at random, got into bed, and started reading.
The next thing I knew, I was in a dream.
Normal Bill from our dimention was there. "Well, well," he said. "Look who's here."
"What are you doing here?" I asked. "I thought Mabel and Dipper got rid of you."
Bill chuckled. "You can't really get rid of me. Besides, I'm part of you, aren't I. And that part seems to get you in trouble, a lot.
I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. "Leave me alone, Bill."
Bill laughed. "Please, when have I been known to leave anyone alone?"
"You have a point," I said through gritted teeth. "What are really doing here?" I asked. "Are you gonna possess me? Turn me insane? Erase my memory?"
"Yesh, kid," Bill said, putting his hands in from of him. "If I was powerful enough to do that, I wouldn't have to ask you in a dream. No, I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
I snorted. "Sure. You care about me."
"You're part of me now," Bill said. "I'm more concerned about that then you."
I faked a surpried look. "No," I said sarcastically. "Really?"
"I'm just saying that if you stay close to the reverse form of you, that you're powers will spontaniously combust."
I blinked. "What?"
"Normal dementional stuff is dangerous, but when you throw in dream demon powers, you can't control what they do," Bill sounded dead serious. "That'll cause all my powers to totally demolish along with you."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse."
