THERE WAS NO time to die when it came to being a hunter of the supernatural. With dozens of monsters on the loose and constantly prowling for victims wherever possible, it was safe to assume that all hunters had their hands full with trying to stop anything that went bump in the night. Birdie Fowler had a knack for cheating death quite often during most of her own cases which never seemed to end, an ability she had undoubtedly inherited from spending so much time with Sam and Dean Winchester.

Having been raised on the road from the very moment she could walk, she knew all about deranged monsters and exactly how to kill them. Bobby Singer had became a rather familiar face to her over the years as well, the older man typically being her parents' go-to "babysitter" if a case was too dangerous for Birdie to tag along on. And, it was through Bobby that Birdie became acquainted with the Winchester brothers——the first boys she ever met, and automatically hated.

    Birdie wasn't sure what it was about the brothers, but she didn't like either of them. She absolutely hated when she wound up at Bobbys at the same time as the brothers——which often left Bobby with his hands very full. Though, over time, Birdie and Sam had started to break through each others walls and became what Birdie never expected: friends. Dean was another story, but eventually, he grew on Birdie just as she had with him.

    Many years later and taking on what her parents had been doing until the day they died, Birdie became a hunter as she had a natural knack for it. She usually worked alone and with the help of her trusty weapons she kept on hand, deeming it was better that way so no one got hurt because of her. She and the Winchesters still kept in contact even after they all started doing their own things. Yet something always seemed to draw the trio together even due to the smallest of reasons.

    However, it seemed that the universe thought it was time for them reunite once more in order to fight a newfound evil together. And, perhaps, bring two people together in a way neither of them thought was possible.

Lmao, I'm kinda surprised it took me this long to make a Supernatural fic, but it might be a good thing I waited until I got further in the show before finally allowing myself to come up with a fic idea. And, I've always been a sucker for Sam and I just couldn't help myself and create this. 🤪 It might be a bit cliché for Birdie to already know the boys, but I can't help it. Friends to lovers just make me soft 🥺 But, it'll also take time as they're a slow burn (maybe slight medium burn??) and things will happen throughout the fic that'll fuck shit up so ahaha 👀👀

Also, I originally planned on making destiel canon, but I'm going to be including latte-to-go's amazing oc, Isla Carters, who is from Amara's Dean Winchester fic, Savior Complex!! Without Amara, this fic would definitely NOT be happening! So, thank you so much Amara for helping me with this and always listening to my ramblings that are almost always about Sam and Birdie 😅😭🥺💖 (And while Isla is from Amara's fic, our stories aren't connected!! We're just featuring each other's characters with some few changes to them to fit each of our own plots!)

ALSO I'M still deciding if this will end in the middle of season 8, or the end?? I think I'm leaning more towards the middle, but I'm gonna try and wait to decide. 😅 As much as I'd really like to write through the rest of the show, I'm afraid I'll burn out halfway and I don't want that to happen. My original plan was to end this at the end of season 6, and well, I got further into the show and I feel like 8 could be a good stopping point? THOUGH, I will be posting a one-shot book and I'll be including chapters set in the later seasons (like s10 ep12) because I can't help myself! But, who knows? I might just end up making a sequel lmaoo 🥳

EDIT 3/8/2023: So, here is the sorta revamp of nttd??? Nothing plot wise was changed, but there have been some cast changes!!

If you're familiar with this story and was reading it when Nadia Hilker was Birdie, you'll notice that her face claim and a few others have changed, and that I also added some in! Before I struggled to find face claims for Birdie's parents with Nadia (and when I found some I didn't add them into the cast list), but I decided to add them now so y'all could have some faces to picture when a chapter includes Reese and/or Serena!! Kaiya's face claim + her families changed as well along with their last name, but hopefully this'll be the last time they change 😅

But those are the only changes so if you were reading this when I unpublished to make these changes, you don't have to reread anything to continue from where you were at!

And, well, if you're new here and the current face claims are the only ones you've seen, then just carry on with the story <3 but if you see any character descriptions that doesn't match their face claim, it's just something I missed when editing the chapters which may or may not happen more than once 💀 But I think that's all for this new note and I hope y'all will like the new face claims <3
