In which....

Eawynn, having recently been married, must navigate her new life in Wessex while preparing for the inevitable clash between Saxon and Dane as the people of Wessex fight to save their kingdom from Pagan invasion. Her internal struggle between adapting to life and Wessex or clinging onto her former life in Northumbria is further complicated after she discovers that her older half-brother, Uhtred, heir to Bebbanburg is still alive. She must decide where her loyalties lie: to her brother and the people of Wessex or to her Uncle, who supports the Danes.
