Will you just accept the fact that she's gone?! Eris is dead!
Unknown P.O.V.
Bright lights had occupied my vision as I tried to open my eyes. I closed them again and listened to the conversation around me.
"How'd you pull it off?" A voice asked. I knew it was female, but still couldn't tell who it was. Then, another voice spoke. This time it was a male, and sounded just like President Drew.
"Before I faked my death, I was able to hack into the Gamemaker headquarters and turn off the tracker." What? I was really confused as to what the hell was going on. I tried to open my eyes again, but they felt so heavy. The woman put her hand on my cheek and signaled me to stay quiet.
"Don't waste your strength. You're still healing. Now, go back to sleep." And just like that, I was back into that familiar state of unconsciousness.
I felt myself waking back up and varies gasps could be heard around the room when I did. I opened my eyes to see President Drew, his beautiful wife Millie, and their teenage daughter, Sadie. I think Sadie is the head of the fashion department in the Capital, but I'm not for sure. I attempted to sit up but was gently pushed back down again on to the bed. I looked around the room I was in and noticed how everything was white. White chairs, white walls, white equipment...
"Where am I?" I asked to no one in particular.
"We're on a remote island that very few people know about. You're safe, so don't worry." President Drew explained to me. His daughter then smacked him upside the head.
"Too much information!" Sadie yelled at him. His face turned red from embarrassment as his daughter sat down at the edge of my bed.
"Why am I here?" She sighed, and we locked eyes.
"Well technically, we're all supposed to be dead."
Simeon's P.O.V.
I hadn't gotten out of the house or of my bedroom since I got back home from the Capital a couple of months ago. I barely eat, sleep or even speak to anyone anymore. The love of my life and best friend was dead, all because I couldn't protect her from Sawyer and Opal. When Eris died, I went into an unexplainable rage, killing the remaining tributes. Isis and I won the Games, and I wish that Eris could've won with the both of us. I was buried under all of my blankets when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. Before I could tell the person to go away, the door creaked open and my covers were thrown off of me. I got a waft of something when I was exposed to the air in my room. It was a mint smell mixed with vanilla, it was Isis.
"What do you want?" I groaned, putting my head in my pillow.
"I'm just checking on you and bringing you something to eat....like I do every afternoon?" I sighed and turned to face her. When we won the games, we were both given a house in the Victor's Village. But, Isis had decided to move into my house while my family took over her old one. Isis probably would've stayed at her own house if it wasn't for that fact that I wasn't eating or taking care of myself. Isis had a plate in one hand and a glass of milk in the other. I sat up and she placed the food on my lap. It was two peanut butter sandwiches made with fresh bread from my family's bakery. There were also baby carrots off to the side as well, looking like they had just been harvested. I start to eat when Isis sat on the end of my bed.
"We're taking a walk today." She said simply. Isis didn't ask for permission or anything, because she knew I would say no. I knew she was going to take me to the meadow, and to where Eris' grave was. Isis left the room so I could finish eating and get dressed for our walk. After I was finished eating, I got dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a red shirt. I didn't bother brushing my unruly blonde hair and I headed downstairs to where Isis was waiting for me in our dining room. I slipped on my hiking boots and followed Isis out the door and into the nearby meadow. It took us a good ten minutes to arrive, but when we did I almost started sobbing. Eris' grave was occupied with hundreds of flowers from various people in the district. The most common flowers were red roses and poppies. I knelt down next to her grave, and Isis did the same.
"She could still be alive, you know. Her body wasn't brought back-" I started, but Isis snapped at me.
"Will you just accept the fact that she's gone?! Eris is dead!" Tears were streaming down Isis' face as she collapsed next to Eris' grave. Isis constantly blamed herself for snapping at Eris and I in the arena, and if she wouldn't have done it then we wouldn't have left and Eris wouldn't have been captured by Sawyer. I still had hope that she was alive, but it was slowly diminishing. If she was alive out there somewhere, I will find her....even if it costs me my life.
Unknown's P.O.V.
"What do you mean we aren't supposed to be alive?! You're the president for heavens sake!" I was so confused as to what they were talking about. I sat up again, much to Millie's dismay, and noticed all of the tubes sticking out of my arms. I was wearing a pair of black leggings and a red tank top. As I was looking at my clothes, I noticed a small little bump on my stomach. I lifted the shirt and my stomach was bigger than what it normally is. My eyes widened when I realized why I had the bump.
"No..." I said, almost bursting into tears. Millie went to put her hand on my shoulder but I swatted her away.
"No! Someone better tell me what the hell is going on!" President Drew sighed, and dragged a nearby chair over to my bedside.
"When you were in the games, I got wind of somebody planning on executing my family and I. We were planning on getting rid of the games once and for all, and the 100th games were going to be the last. So, we found this island to the west of Panem and started to plan our deaths. We also knew that we were going to end up starting a revolution, and we needed a face for our revolution. Sadie immediately thought of you." I glanced over to Sadie and she nodded.
"When you were close to death, I hacked into the Capital's computers and turned off your tracker, which meant you were 'dead'. Sadie drove a hovercraft into the arena and picked you up. The very few medics that were on board attended to your wounds, but they told us you slipped into a coma and that you were with child. Or, children." My breathing became faster as my mind began to race.
"Where's Simeon?! Does he know about this?!" I start to get up from the bed but instantly felt light-headed. Everybody was silent, and avoiding my question.
"Where's Simeon?!" Millie took a deep breath.
"Back at your home district. He thinks you're dead..." My hand flew up to my mouth as I held in a sob.
"I need to go to him! I'm pregnant with his children!" I ignored my head spinning and pulled the tubes from my arms. I stumbled to the door and almost made it, until I felt a sharp pain in my neck and everything went black.
I woke up a couple hours later in a different room, and thankfully it was much more colorful. Sadie walked in and saw me awake.
"Good, you're up." She sat at the edge of the bed with a tray of food in her hands, along with a glass of milk. I didn't realize how hungry or thirsty I was until I got a look at the food. It was pasta with marinara sauce and parmesan on top. She handed me the food and I almost immediately started stuffing my face with it.
"Eris, we're planning on contacting Simeon in some way. And your family." I stopped eating to look up at her.
"Send me." I said. She looked at me with curiosity.
"Send you?"
"Yes! Once I'm healed send me to district two disguised as like a peacekeeper or something. I'll demand Simeon and my family to get on a hovercraft with me and we'll fly back to the island! They'll be safe..." Sadie thought about it and shook her head.
"My parents would never let us do it."
"Then we won't let them know!" Sadie smirked and nodded, agreeing to my plan.
"Alright. But you aren't fully healed from the hypothermia." I nodded, understanding.
For the next couple of weeks I grew stronger and healthier. They offered to let me know the genders of the babies, but I declined. It was something that I wanted Simeon and I to find out together. I found out that the person that threatened to kill Drew and his family, was someone that I thought was missing.
Todd Schlickbernd. We all thought that he perhaps committed suicide so he didn't have to participate in the games, but turns out he had a group of followers in the Capital that hid him while he prepared. I wish that I could've seen how sick he was, because now he's taking what little the poorer districts had and is wanting to take away victor's immunity from the games. So, Isis and Simeon could end up back into the games. Even my father could, because Todd is also wanting to make the age limit twelve and up. Heck, my mother could end up in the games! Sadie and I were on a hovercraft on the way over district two, and I was in a peacekeeper outfit. After about three hours of flying, we finally landed. I walked through the town and straight to the Victor's Village. Sadie had decided that it'd be best for her to put on an outfit too, because she didn't want Isis to recognize her. I approached Simeon's new house and knocked on the door. I hid so he couldn't see me, and when he came out I pinned his arms behind his back and one of my hands went to his mouth so he couldn't scream for help.
"Come with me silently and no one will get hurt." I told him in a deeper voice that wasn't my own. He nodded as I put handcuffs on his wrists and headed back to our hovercraft. Sadie was already there with my family thankfully. She jumped in the piolet seat and we were off to the small island that I now call home. Once we were safely out of Panem, Sadie put the hovercraft in auto piolet and came to where everyone was. We motioned for them to turn around as we took off their handcuffs. I dragged Simeon into a nearby compartment and blindfolded him. I then took my helmet off and kissed him passionately, even though he tried to push me off of him. I untied his blindfold and pulled away.
He instantly passed out at the sight of me.
