Thank you for honoring Rose.

I'd be lying if I said that Simeon and I were doing well on our own. It had been a quite a few days, possibly even two weeks since we left our alliance. We were running out of supplies, and it didn't help that I was eating a lot more than what I should be. Currently we're hunting for food, and are hoping that maybe there would be a herd of deer or even just a few rabbits. Luckily though, we had plenty of water from the snow that's been coming down, and we've been boiling it to get any bacteria out. I was collecting some beautyberries when Simeon called me over.

"Look!" He held up two rabbits that he had caught with the snares I made. I jumped up and down excitedly.

"I'm starving! Looks like we'll be eating a feast tonight!" I showed Simeon the berries I had just picked. He took my hand as we walked back to our base. It was only a couple of days ago that we found a place to stay during the games. It was a cave, a lot like the one we were in with our alliance. But this cave went on and on for what seemed like forever, and we didn't dare travel until the end of the cave. This was a bonus though, because we could make a fire at night if we went deep enough into the cave to stay warm.  I put some more sticks into the fire we already had going, in order to cook the rabbits. Simeon starts to cook his food while I cook mine, and we sat in silence.

"Are you worried?" I asked out of the blue, waiting for the rabbit to fully cook.

"About what?"

"Nobody has died in like, two weeks. They're probably getting bored and are going to spring something on us." My mind instantly went to Rose. She was the last person to die in the arena, and I wish she wasn't. I saw her as a little sister, and I wanted to make sure she made it to the end. But because I fell asleep, she was killed by an unknown tribute. I did try to follow the blood trail, unfortunately it didn't continue much farther outside of the cave though. I noticed that my rabbit was finished, so I let it cool down for a minute and then immediately started eating. I had completely forgotten that I had asked Simeon a question, until he answered me.

"Now that you mention it, yea. I am worried. Something is going to happen, and it's gonna be something big." I was now eating my half of the berries, listening to Simeon. Simeon was eating his rabbit like he hadn't eaten in forever. I rose an eyebrow.

"Have you not been eating?" He looked down and I gasped. All of those times when he said he ate when we would separate to find resources, he lied. I stood up.

"Have you eaten anything at all?!" I threw my leftover rabbit on the floor. Simeon sighed.

"I have, but only berries and the dried fruit..." My eyes widened. We ran out of the dried fruit the first day we were on our own. And we've only found berries about every other day.

"You lied to me!" I was so angry at Simeon, that I think my face was turning red.

"I did it for you! You need the food more than I do!"

"No, I don't! We both need to keep our strength up, and that means we both need to EAT!" I wanted so badly to explode, but last time I did that I slapped my own sister. I didn't want to slap Simeon, even though it was becoming hard to resist it.

"But you've had more of an appetite recently and needed more food-"

"Are you calling me fat?!" Simeon's eyes widened and he shook his head. I put my hands on my hips.

"No! God, why would you think I said that?" My eyes started to water and soon, tears were falling down my face. Simeon saw this and ran over to me.

"Y-You said t-that I've needed to e-eat more..." He held me close as I continued to cry.

"Love, just because I said that you've been eating more, doesn't mean I called you fat. Alright?" I nodded, and to my surprise I stopped crying quickly.

"Just, please eat. I don't care if I have more of an appetite, you need to eat too. Hell, we're in the Hunger Games!" He nodded, agreeing and snuggled into me. Merely minutes later, Simeon was asleep with his head in my lap, snoring softly. I chuckled to myself and turned my attention to the blazing fire in front of me. My thoughts then went to my sister. Was she doing alright without us? Is she taking care of Eliza? Eliza. I never did realize that by leaving Isis, I would be leaving Eliza as well, until it was too late to turn back. Isis didn't even try to stop me, so I think that she just didn't care whether or not I'd be killed in the games. I was lost deep into my thoughts until I heard a familiar beeping sound. I got up slowly and took off my coat, and laid Simeon's head down on it. I walked outside to see a silver canister with a parachute falling down, towards me. Once it finally reached the ground I picked it up, and headed back inside. I looked over to Simeon and see that he hadn't even budged from the position I put him in. I sat down next to him and opened the canister.

I started bawling at the sight of it's contents. Inside was a beautiful rose charm, and it was the same color of the rose I had placed on Rose, before her body was taken by the hovercraft. I took it out and put it on the same chain as my ruby was, around my neck. I noticed a small slip of paper at the bottom, and also took it out in order to read it.

Thank you for honoring Rose.

~District 5

I must have cost her district quite a lot in order to send me this, as it looked expensive. Simeon started to stir and he looked up at me, his eyes groggy. He wiped the tears from my eyes and caressed my cheek.

"Why are you crying?" He asked. I shivered from the cold and from the fire starting to go out, so Simeon got up from my coat and put it on me. I showed him the charm along with the note, and he smiled at me. He was about to open his mouth to say something, but glanced down at the canister and gave me a puzzling look.

"What?" I asked. Simeon reached into the canister and pulled out another slip of paper. He glanced over it and he gasped.

"We need to go! NOW!" Simeon started packing up all of our supplies as fast as he could, I decided not to question him and do the same. As we we're packing up, I see a frost start to come from the deepest part of the cave coming towards us quickly. My eyes widen as I grab Simeon's hand and run out of the cave, without even caring about the rest of our supplies that were left behind. When we got out of the cave, we saw even more frost coming towards us from all different directions. A cannon can be heard in the distance but I barely noticed, as Simeon and I were too focused on running from the frost. I looked behind us and the frost was covering anything and everything it could. Once something was completely covered, it'd shatter into a million pieces.  As we were running hand and hand, I wasn't watching where I was going and I tripped over a tree root.

"SHIT!" I yelled, pain shooting through my ankle. The deadly frost was starting to approach us faster, and I was starting to accept that I wasn't going to make it. Simeon then picked me up and put me on his back, and began to run again. He wasn't running nearly as fast as what he was before, but we were still somehow ahead of the frost. Six more cannons went off as we were trying to escape. Finally, the frost stopped and Simeon collapsed to the ground with me still on his back. I yelped as I hit the ground hard.

"Eris, are you okay?!" He asked me, having to take deep breaths in between his words. I nodded and attempted to stand up, but my left ankle couldn't support me.

"I think I sprained it...." Of course I had to sprain it. My cuts had only just healed fully a few days ago, and here I am with a sprained ankle! I look around at my surroundings and realize that we were only a few feet away from the Cornucopia. That's when I realized that the frost was to bring all of the remaining tributes closer to fight. And if I was correct, seven tributes were killed by the frost. That means nineteen tributes were left in the arena. Before I could turn to Simeon to inform him of this, someone covered my mouth and dragged me off somewhere. I started thrashing around until I was slammed into something. My vision was blurred a bit until I could finally make out who it was.

Sawyer.

I had really hoped that he died already, but he was still alive and unfortunately well. He smirked at me and caressed my cheek, making me shiver. I could hear Simeon yelling for me, but when I tried to yell out, Sawyer stuffed a gag in my mouth so I couldn't scream. I could see multiple weapons and various supplies around me. I was inside of the Cornucopia. Sawyer then started taking off my warm jacket and pants, and threw them to the side where I couldn't reach them. He tied my arms behind my back, and my feet together.

"Nice job." A voice said. My eyes widened as Opal came out of the shadows, dagger in hand. No, she was dead! I heard the cannon go off when she was shot by Rose! I struggled to get out of my binds but it was no use. I started shaking from the cold since I was only in my underwear and the thin long sleeve shirt we were provided for the arena. Opal and Sawyer chuckled at the sight of me.

"This is how you'll die. Hypothermia......how ironic is it that a fiery and feisty girl is going to die from getting too cold?" Sawyer then noticed that I still had my gloves on, so he took them off as well. My legs and bottom were almost buried into the snow and it was already to the point where I couldn't feel them. I looked at them and they were already turning a faint blue color, and Opal just continued to laugh maniacally. Tears were streaming down my face as they watched me slowly freeze to death. I could feel my body start to shut down and right before I slipped into unconsciousness, I see an axe swing and Sawyer's head rolling on the floor.

Simeon's P.O.V.

As I was trying to catch my breath after surviving the death frost, I look around to see Eris missing. My eyes widened as I got up, frantically looking around for her. Something wasn't right!

"ERIS?!" I screamed, tears threatening to spill.

"Simeon?" I hear a voice ask. I turned around and see Isis, much to my disappointment.

"Where's Eris?!" She asked urgently. My heart started pounding as I ran around the edge of the middle of the arena, trying to find her. Isis decided to go in a completely different direction with Eliza following close behind her. More cannons went off in the distance as I shout her name, begging her to show up and hoping that one of those cannons aren't for her.

"SIMEON! OVER HERE!" I heard Isis and Eliza shout at the same time. They continued to yell so I could follow and find where they were. I followed their voices to the Cornucopia, and see Isis grab an axe and I hear a huge SLICE. I didn't know who Isis had just killed, but I didn't care at the moment. All I cared about was Eris and what the hell happened to her. I ran into the Cornucopia to see Isis and Opal fighting while Eliza was tending to Eris. Eris had her pants and coat off and was shaking like crazy from the cold. I ran over to her and noticed that she was unconscious.

"Eris? God....please wake up!" I was trying to warm her up using my body heat but it didn't seem like it was making a difference. Everything that happened next went so fast. Opal had somehow managed to kick Isis to the ground, and was about to kill her. Eliza noticed this and right before Opal was going to slash Isis' stomach with a sword, she jumped in front of Isis. She fell to the ground with her hands on her stomach. A cannon signaled her death, but Isis was enraged. She picked up the axe that she was using to fight Opal, and sliced her head off. It fell to the ground next to another decapitated body, that I now recognized as Sawyer's. I averted my attention away from him and back to Eris. Her breathing was starting to slow but I wouldn't, I COULDN'T accept that she was dying.

"Love, please don't go. Please wake up!" I was sobbing uncontrollably. Isis was stunned and couldn't move. More cannons were going off into the distance, as other tributes fought each other. Soon, the cannons stopped and I was just holding Eris in my arms.

Another cannon shot. Eris was dead.
