My pounding headache is the least of my worries today.

Not only did I manage to piss off Abby, but James hasn't spoken to me once since last night.

I can't say that I'm surprised. I was a total bitch last night.

After getting dressed and ready for school, I walk outside and sigh at the fact that I'm driving myself to school today.

I get into my car and head to school. Once I'm there, I park near the back and turn my car off.

I reach into my bag and pull out the small bottle of Tylenol, taking two tablets out. I wash them down with my water, and zip the water bottle inside of my bag before getting out of the car. Once I lock the doors, I toss my keys into my bag and head for the school entrance.

I see Abby and Lena sitting outside at their usual spot. Despite knowing better, I decide to walk over.

"Well, look who it is." Abby says sarcastically.

"Are we really going to continue this?" I sigh. "I'm sorry."

"I'm sure you are."

"It just caught me off guard, that's all. Come on, you know if the situation was reversed, you would have reacted the same way." I defend myself.

"Lena, back me up here!" I look to Lena, and the look on her face tells me she would rather be anywhere else, but here.

"Can you both stop yelling?" She manages to say. "It is too damn early for this."

"Seriously, I am sorry. I wasn't trying to judge you. If you genuinely like Percy, who am I to stop you?" I say, though the words are harder to get out than I thought they would be.

"It absolutely killed you to say that, didn't it?" Abby smirks.

"Yes, but you're my friend so I'll deal." I shrug, giving her a smirk in return.

"Okay fine, you're forgiven for this one. But that's only because I know you have Tylenol with you and because I feel bad hearing what happened with you and James." Abby says, and my eyes widen.

"Does everyone know?" I ask.

"Almost." Lena says, and I sink down into my seat.

"Wonderful." I sigh. "James and I finally agree to be together, and this happens."

"Well, in his defense, you NEVER dance with your boyfriend while eyeing another guy. That's relationship rule number three." Abby casually states, as if I have a clue what she's talking about.

"What's rule number one?" I ask.

"Duh, don't lie or cheat." She says in a 'duh' tone. "Obviously."

"Well excuse me for not having the relationship guide book on hand." I roll my eyes. "This is all new to me, and honestly Percy just pissed me off so I wanted to piss him off. I do not have feelings for him, nor do I care what he thinks about me or my relationship with James." I explain, trying to get my two best friends to understand my point of view.

"I get that." Lena nods.

"Thank you."

"Speaking of boyfriends..." She trails off while looking behind me.

I turn around and catch a glimpse of Ian walking with James. Ian motions his head over toward our table, but James shakes his head.

I see Ian give James a pointed look, so James eventually decides to follow Ian over to us.

"Man that was some party last night, huh?" Ian smiles and everyone sends him a glare.

The bell rings and we all stand up.

Abby walks with Lena and Ian, while James and I awkwardly stand beside the picnic table.

"Are you at least going to let me explain?" I ask, hoping he will understand.

"There's nothing to explain. It's fine." He says, and I have to raise an eyebrow.

"How is it fine? You left me at the party alone. That can't possibly mean that everything is fine." I reply, though he only gives me an incredulous look.

"I had my reasons for leaving." He says harshly.

"Yes, I am aware. I want to apologize if you'll let me." I sigh. "Please?"

He takes a second to think it over, I assume. After a couple of seconds, he finally shakes his head.

"Not now. I need more time." He replies before turning and walking away from me.

I glare up at the sky and eventually follow behind him.

The hallways are crowded so I'm literally two inches behind him as we walk to first.

"You know, I said I needed time." He laughs and it takes me a second to realize that he's talking to me.

"Well I can't help it that this hallway is packed like a sardine can." I sarcastically state which causes him to laugh again.

God I missed his laugh.

Once we get inside of the classroom, we both take our seats and Ian eyes us wearily.

"Are you two having your first fight? That is SO cute." He gushes like a fan-girl.

"We aren't fighting. He just isn't speaking to me yet." I casually reply. "Give him time."

"Sweetie, he'll be putty in your hands by lunch." Ian waves it off and I can't help but laugh. My eyes wander beside me and I notice a small smile resting on James' lips, though he makes no move to look at me.

"One can only hope." I say while looking directly at James, and I know that eventually we will be okay.

| James' POV |

"How long is this going to go on?" Skylar sighs while sitting beside me at the cafeteria table.

I say nothing, and reach around her tray for the salt and pepper packets.

"Hey, you don't get to use my packets unless you talk to me!" She whines.

"I have to admit, James is one tough cookie." Lena comments. Her mood has lightened up since this morning. I guess Skylar's Tylenol helped her.

I'm sure Skylar is wishing that her Tylenol would help with getting me to speak to her.

"That I am Lena that I am." I say and Skylar's eyes widen.

"Oh, so you'll talk to my best friend, but not me? Typical." She glares while crossing her arms over her cute chest.

"Lena is my friend too." I say, but immediately regret it.

"You talked to me." She smirks. "Win."

"Whatever." I scoff, reaching for my soda to take a drink.

"Yes we're all friends, now can you two please kiss and make up already? The stress is giving me anxiety!" Ian whines while stirring his mashed potatoes.

"We've literally only been this way for a day." I deadpan.

"And that is already too long!" He dramatically says while pointing his finger at me. "So knock it off."

"Yes sir." I sarcastically salute.

"Thank God! Now, kiss." Ian smiles.

"Ian, you have two seconds to shut up or something bad will happen." Skylar says sweetly, though I can see the evil smirk on her lips.

"Sorry." Ian immediately puts his head down and eats a bite of his potatoes while Lena playfully pats his head in an attempt to comfort him.

"But I still want to talk to you." I hear from beside me. I turn and finally look Skylar in the eyes for the first time today, and I almost break down and kiss her right then and there.

"We will." I nod. "Promise."

She smiles and I can't help but mimic her. Her smile is contagious, and the disease is eternal. Ian is right, I am putty in her hands, and I don't mind to admit that.

"And I want to talk to you too." Skylar points to Abby, who only smiles with a shake of her head.

"Yeah, yeah... we'll talk later." Abby replies. "Promise." She mocks me, and I send her a small glare as she and Lena both laugh at my expense.

"Good." Skylar smiles with a nod.

"Are you going to talk to Percy?" Lena asks and my body instantly tenses. I think Skylar noticed.

"Absolutely not. I have nothing to say to him and I don't want anything to do with him." Skylar responds quickly after Lena asks. "No offense to you Abby, if you want to pursue Percy, go for it. I just hope he treats you the way you deserve to be treated." Skylar adds with a small smile.

"Thanks, but I'm not really looking for a relationship." Abby shrugs. "Honestly I was just horny."

Ian almost chokes on his potatoes while Lena starts patting his back.

"Abby! Watch your foul mouth!" Ian points at the blunt redhead.

"Oh come on, I can't lie to my friends." She smirks and I shake my head with a laugh.

"We are the weirdest group of friends I think I've ever seen." I say, but with love in every word.

The bell rings so we all get up to head to our next class.

"I'll meet you after school, okay?" Skylar asks me as she picks up her bag.

I nod, and then she walks away with Abby and Lena behind her.

_______

"I'm sorry for how I acted last night." Skylar says while sitting beside me on my bed.

She followed me home after school, and we are currently in my bedroom. Ian is downstairs with Lena. They are picking out a movie for the four of us to watch. I'm not sure where Abby is, but she told Skylar she couldn't hangout today.

"I just don't understand why it happened at all. I'm your boyfriend. Not him. It's just disrespectful to me." I say, still not able to look at her in the eyes. I know that the second I do, I won't want to do anything else besides hug her and tell her that everything is okay.

"I know that, and I feel horrible. I didn't mean to make you feel that way, nor was I trying to. Percy just pisses me off so much sometimes, and the way he kept smirking at me while dancing with Abby. I don't know why it bothered me so much." She explains with a sigh.

"Do you have feelings for him?" I ask. I feel stupid even thinking it, but I would be lying if I said I never thought about it being a possibility in regards to her actions.

"Of course not!" She defends herself. "I've never had romantic feelings for Percy. Even before you and I started dating. I guess I just thought Abby was somehow going behind my back when I saw her with Percy, and I just didn't want Percy to use Abby to get to me if that makes sense. I didn't want Abby to like Percy and he just use her and then dump her."

I nod at her reasoning, since it is reasonable. I would probably feel the same if it were Ian and I in a situation like that.

"It was not jealousy." She says after a moment of silence. "Honest."

I finally look over at her as she frowns at her lap.

I reached my hand over and took a hold of hers. She brings her eyes up to mine and that's when I finally break.

I pull her into my side and wrap my arm around her body. "I understand, and it's okay."

"Are you sure? I can get down on my knees and beg if you'd like?" She smiles up at me, and I can't help but laugh.

"As much as I would enjoy that, it's not necessary." I smirk. "I know what else you can do though."

She raises an eyebrow in question, before I use my other hand to cup her cheek as I press our lips together. I haven't kissed her in what feels like forever, so I make sure to take my time.

The kiss is slow, but full of feelings. I softly rub my thumb against her cheek, not yet ready to pull away.

When we do finally manage to pull apart for some air, I watch as her eyes light up while looking at my own.

"I've missed you Jamesy." She teases with a smile.

"Say that again, and I go back to the silent treatment." I smirk, though she knows I'm not serious.

"Are you two going to bang or can we please watch this movie now?" We hear Ian shout from downstairs.

I roll my eyes while Skylar's cheeks redden.

"Shut up you moron! We're coming!" I shout back, but instantly regret it.

"Ew James! At least shut the bedroom door!" Ian gasps loud enough for us to hear him. "You filthy animals!"

"I'm going to kill him one day. A very slow and painful death." Skylar says in a low voice.

"Count me in babe."
