So fast forward to Vanilla's cozy house. I was sitting on the sofa and screaming into one of its pillows, ready for my heart to burst out not because I was close to being a robot - or far worse. I was embarrassed. Not because of a robot immediately falling for me over the word "cute" escaping my big mouth. Had I known that Shadow was still on the scene, I would have never yelled what I did. I would have still denied that I loved him, but with less passion. I humiliated him too. If I was not stupid in his eyes before, I definitely was now. I should have broken a record. Gained and lost a friend in less than a day.

When Metal Sonic finished speaking, he was suddenly kicked in the back by a bat. She confirmed that she is a bat. Rouge the Bat. To me, she seemed more like a cat. Since that she was saving me, though, I took her word. With her were a white hedgehog called Silver, a purple cat called Blaze, and a huge robot called Omega. Rouge then assured me that Omega is on our side. I wondered if she could read minds.

Metal Sonic finally let me go and began falling. Shadow leapt up and folded his hands together. He raised them over his head and slammed them into the robot's back, causing Metal Sonic to tumble faster and crash into the ground, creating a hole larger and deeper than Amy's.

I had not fallen for a second before I stopped. A blueish aura surrounded me. My hair slow-dancing, I moved to an end of the aura and put my hand on it. I said, "Cool. Am...I doing this?"

"Got ya, Alinta. You are safe now," the white hedgehog stated, his hands moving in circles in front of him. The aura headed towards the ground and closer to him and the cat.

"She is not out of the woods just yet, Silver," the purple cat reminded him.

"None of us will because we live in the woods."

"Not the time for jokes, Silver."

The aura halted in front of Silver and the cat. "Did you make this aura?" I asked Silver. "It is amazing."

Silver grinned. "Yep." He faced the cat. "How come you never said that my powers are amazing?"

"Can we not have this conversation now?"

His aura carrying me, Silver flew me deep in the village and dropped me off at Vanilla's, the mother rabbit to a young Cream. Silver explained that Sonic, Knuckles, or Amy would get me after Eggman was defeated and take me to Amy's home.

I made more friends in one day than in years.

"Whatcha doing?" Cream asked.

I laid the pillow on my lap, my arms resting on it. "I do not know."

"Why were you screaming into the pillow?"

"If you knew what I was doing, why did you ask?"

"I wanted to be sure. So why?"

"Why what?"

"Why were you screaming into the pillow?"

I glanced out the window. Animal villagers were either walking up and down the path or using another form of transportation, like a bike or skateboard. "I humiliated one of your good friends during battle. Metal Sonic was looking for a reaction, and I unfortunately fell for it. He tried implying that I have a thing for...your friend."

"Shadow?"

I flashed her a surprised look. "H-how did you know?"

"Blaze did not want me to tell you."

"Who is Blaze?"

"Blaze never mentioned her name? She is a purple cat. She loves hanging out with Silver. I think that she likes him." She squeezed my hand with both of hers. "Do not tell her that I told you! Please."

"Uh, only if you explain what Blaze did not want you to tell me." I eyed the small, blue creature floating next to her. I never saw an animal like this in my stupid world. "And what your little friend is."

After introducing me to her adorable chao, Cheese, and describing the Chao Garden, Cream spilled.

Silver is a time-traveler. Because he can see our future, all his predictions are ninety-nine percent accurate. An hour before my fall, Silver warned Sonic and the others that a lady who does not know her age would fall out of the sky. She would soon befriend them, and they would learn ways to stay ahead of Eggman through her. Then they would try sending her home, but she would refuse because she fell in love with the creature who saved her from her fall, as he did with her.

"Shadow rescued you. He flew up and caught you in his arms. So he will fall for you whether he loves it or not," Cream concluded. She giggled.

My brain spun. I felt like passing out. I stared back out the window and pondered the latest information.

"Alinta?"

Silence.

"Alinta? I am sorry. I thought that you would love this. You are sooo lucky that Shadow will love you. He is the ultimate life form. Nothing horrible will happen to you when he is around."

"I doubt that Shadow...loved me at first sight. But even if he did, he does not anymore."

"You think that you embarrassed him?"

"I know, not think."

An animal riding on a motorcycle pulled up next to the window.

"Shadow?" I said.

"Shadow!" Cream squealed.

He climbed off the motorcycle and carried two bags.

Cream hopped off the sofa and rushed out of the room, Cheese following her. "He came to see you, Alinta!"

"H-he probably got groceries for your mom."

"Mom did not ask!"

"Then he wanted to surprise her."

"He is not good at surprises!"

"Cream, lower your voice," Vanilla said.

There were two knocks at the door.

"Vanilla, it is Shadow. I need to see Alinta."

Vanilla opened the door. "Shadow. Come in."

What should I do?! What does Shadow want?!
