CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: OUTLAWED DOUBLES

August 4, 2002

   It’s a few days later. Back in the UK, BG6 member Sean was on the band’s desktop computer. Tina walked up, wondering what he was doing, so she asked. “Sean, what’s going on?”

   Sean replied, “Do you remember a month ago when No Rules told us they’ll be performing on an American teen awards show?”

   Tina replied in an irritated tone, “Yeah, I remember. I still can’t believe they’re at America, whilst we aren’t. We have an album out, whilst they haven’t. Yet. Until next month, that is. Why?”

   “I’m looking for the video of their performance. I heard it was a big show.”

   “I doubt the video is on their official website.”

   “And that’s why I’m going the fan-sites. And it looks like I found the video.”

 Sean was on a No Rules fan-site called no-rules.org. He was on the video downloads, and he found the link to download the video of NR’s Teen Choice Awards performance. He downloaded the video, then he burned it onto a DVD-R. When it was finished, Sean gathered the rest of BG6, and sat them in front of the TV.

  Sean said, “I got here on this DVD is No Rules’ performance that American teen awards show. I had to look for it on several fan-sites. Now I got it.”

  So Sean put the DVD into the DVD player. Then it showed NR’s performance. When it was over, the BG6 members were stunned by NR’s grand performance.

   Rhys asked, “What the f*ck?”

   Sean said, “Exactly.”

   Travis said in a stunned voice, “That…was…huge.”

   Kelsey gushed, “The lads were fit as usual.”

   Hannah T. also gushed, “They so were.”

  The boys stared at the two girls. Just then, Kelsey’s cell phone rang. She saw it was Charlie, so she hurriedly walked away to the girls’ bathroom of the BG6 house. She got into the shower to try to muffle her voice.

  Kelsey whispered, “Charlie, why are you calling me? I’m with the BG6-ers.”

  At the same time, No Rules were at their suite in New York City. They just performed at on a morning TV show, complete with a grand entrance by being on a red double-decker bus; and a 2-song performance with the Union Jack as the stage’s background. The songs were All Around the World, and their debut American single, Energized.

  As the NR members were resting up before they go to Madison Square Garden for the Radio Disney World Tour 2002, Charlie decided to call Kelsey. He went into the main bathroom of the suite, and went into the shower to call her.

   Kelsey whispering, “Charlie, why are you calling me? I’m with the BG6-ers.”

  Charlie also whispered,, “I’m calling you cuz I miss you.”

   “Aaww. Oi, I saw your Teen Choice Awards performance today.”

   “How’d you see it? That performance aired last night, and it was only aired here in America.”

   “Sean downloaded the video off of a fan-site, and put it on DVD. It was a little out-there, with the whole ‘Teen British Invasion’ theme and such. But it was really cool. And your singing, along with the others, was really great.”

  “Thanks. That was a month’s worth of dance, stage, dress, and tech rehearsals, but it was worth it. We gained a ton of American fans in one day! And this Saturday, Radio Disney will premiere Energized, before all the other mainstream radios do. Which is next Tuesday.”

  “That’s great! I wish I could fully support you, but the BG6-ers are being bloody pricks. One minute they love you, next minute they don’t. It’s sad, really.”

   “Oi, why don’t you come to America, to be with me?”

  Kelsey laughed in disbelief, “How am I gonna do that? You’ll be in different cities all month! Besides, how do I sneak away from the BG6-ers?”

  Charlie replied, “No Rules are staying in New York for about a week. So you should be able to be with me. Does BG6 have anything going on right now?”

   “We have a performance this Saturday. I’ll get my passport.”

   Just then, Charlie heard the bathroom door being knocked. It was Hannah W. She yelled, “Charlie! How long you gotta be in there?! Other people gotta use the loo!”

   Charlie hastily whispered into his phone. “Talk to you later.”

  Then he hung up. As he opened the door, he saw Hannah W., glaring at him. She asked him, “What are you doing in there? Talking to yourself?”

   Charlie replied nervously, “Erm, yeah! I’m so interesting.”

   “You’re so weird.”

   Then as Charlie left the bathroom, Hannah W. went in. She took out her cell phone, went in the shower, and called Jake.

  skate5 were still in LA. They had to film a music video for their upcoming music video. As they where taking a break, Jake got a call from Hannah W.. He went into a storage room on the music video set to answer it.

   Jake answered, “Hannah, what is it? I saw your performance on the telly this morning.”

   Hannah W. whispered as she blushed, “Did you like it?”

   “Very British, but very cool.”

  Hannah W. pulled her phone away to squeal. Jake heard it, so he said, “I can hear you’re squealing for me.”

   “Sorry.”

   “It’s okay. So, why you calling me?”

   “Well, I wanna see you. Hell, I wanna date you.”

   “How are we gonna date if we’re at different cities in the US?”

   “No Rules are in New York for a week. How long do you have to be in Los Angeles?”

  “Till Friday. skate5 are filming a music video, and we should be done by tomorrow. I’ll sneak off tomorrow night.”

  Hannah W. grinned. Just then, she heard a knock on the bathroom door. She heard Edward’s voice, yelling, “Hannah, c’mon! We gotta leave for tech rehearsals!”

   Hannah W. whispered into the phone, “Jake, gotta go.”

  Hannah W. hung up, then she went out of the bathroom. She saw the other NR members standing around the suite door.

   Edward asked, “I heard you talking in there. Who were you talking to?”

   Hannah W. replied nervously, “Erm, myself! I’m so interesting.”

   Charlie raised an eyebrow, while the others laughed. Alex just gave a smirk.

   Edward said, “Sorry I asked.”

 Then as the members were leaving the suite, Charlie took Hannah W. aside. He asked her smugly, “Codeword for ‘phone sex with Tisdale’?”

   Hannah said in an irritated tone, “Shut the f*ck up!”

   Then the two left, and followed the members.

  It’s two days later. In London, Kelsey grabbed her passport, pack lightly as possible, and left for NYC with one of BG6’s bodyguards. In LA, Jake grabbed some of things, and left for NYC. While in New York. No Rules were busy with TV promotions and recording a few extra songs for upcoming their North American release of their debut album.

   It’s now evening. Charlie and Hannah W. snuck out of the NR suite, separately. They met up with their secret partners, and left for their dates.

  As the two dates were walking, they met up with each other. They said each others’ names in shock.

   Hannah W. asked angrily, “Charlie, what doing with that tween?!”

   Kelsey retorted, “I’m 13! Not 12!”

   Charlie asked angrily, “How about you, Hannah?”

   Hannah W. asked, “What about me?”

   “You’re dating a bloke who hates No Rules!”

   Jake flatly said, “It’s Kimmy who hates No Rules, not me.”

   Kelsey said angrily, “You lot also hate BG6 just cuz we’re kids!”

   Just then, Hannah W. saw Ashley and Edward walking together.

   Hannah W. said, “Crap! Charlie, we’re dead!”

   Charlie turned around to see what she saw. He also saw Ashward.

   Kelsey asked, “What is it?”

   Hannah said hastily, “It’s complicated, but we need to hide.”

   Then Ashward started to walk closer toward the two couples. So Charlie and Hannah W. grabbed their partners, and ran to a hotel nearby. It’s the same hotel that NR were staying. They went into a bar that was in the hotel. They got stamped, as they’re all minors.

   As they all sat down, Kelsey spoke up, “So why are we running? Who are we running from?”

  Hannah explained, “Okay, long story short, Charlie and I are banned from seeing both you and Jake. For me and Jake, he’s in skate5, our rival. For you and Charlie, it’s the age gap.”

   “Age is nothing but a number.”

   Charlie gloated, “See, Hannah?”

   Hannah rolled her eyes.

   Then both Charlie and Hannah saw Ashward talking to Sophie and Alex at the entrance of the bar. After a few minutes, Ashward and Alphie saw Charlie with Kelsey, and Hannah with Jake in the bar.

   Ashward and Alphie then entered the bar, and stormed up to Charlie and Hannah. Charlie and Hannah were now scared.

  It’s an hour later. Charlie and Hannah were sitting on the couch of the NR suite. They were sulking, as Edward and Ashley glaringly stood over them.

  As it turns out, while Charlie, Hannah, and Ashward were out, Sophie received an angry call from Sean concerning Kelsey’s ‘disappearance’. At the same time, Alex received a call from Libby concerning Jake being gone. Afterwards, Alex and Sophie told each other about the phone calls.

  Then a few minutes later, Ashley called Sophie about seeing Charlie and Hannah with two other people. Then Ashward chased the four people as they ran off. Ashward followed them into the hotel. Ashley told Sophie that Charlie and Hannah were in the hotel somewhere.

  Alphie and Ashward met up in the lobby. As they told each other about the weird calls and the sightings, they noticed Charlie and Hannah were in the bar with the other two people: Kelsey and Jake! The two couples went inside, ignored getting stamped, and stormed up to the four.

  Alphie told Kelsey and Jake about the phone calls. Immediately, the two teens rushed out of the bar, and hotel. As for Charlie and Hannah, well, that’s where the sulking-while-being-glared-at-by-Ashward comes in. Alphie’s there, too…but only for amusement on Alex’s part.

  Ashley asked angrily, “Do you know how stupid it is of you two? Getting Kelsey and Jake to sneak away from their bands to be with you two?!”

  Edward said angrily, “Yeah. And Charlie, have you forgotten that Kelsey’s 13, and you’re almost f*cking 17?!”

   Hannah said in an irritated, “That’s what I tried to tell him!”

   With that, Alex gave a small laugh. Charlie turned to face him, and asked flatly, “Walsh, enjoying this, are you?”

   Alex said smugly, “Yeah, pretty much.”

   Then Ashley spoke to Hannah, “You’re not any better, Hannah. You’re with a guy who hates us!”

   Charlie mocked “That’s what I tried to tell her.”

  Hannah retorted, “Shut up! You think I’m having sex with Jake in every little corner and chance I get!”

   “Are you?”

   “NO!!!”

   Edward spoke up, “Okay, it’s getting a little TMI here. Look, you two are really banned from seeing those two!”

   Hannah asked, “And what are you? Our parents?”

   Conner added, “Yeah! And I’m the oldest in this band! So no one tells me what to do!”

   “And yet, you’re dating a 13-year-old.”

   “Shut up!”

   Ashley said, “How about this suggestion: You two date each other!”

   Both Charlie and Hannha exclaimed, “F*ck no!”

  With that, Ashley and Edward walked away, smirking. Alex and Sophie soon followed Ashward. Then Hannah glared at Charlie, and she hit him with a couch pillow. Soon, she walked away.
