ix. The Bakugou's Rift

"I really didn't need to add another student to my list of Problem Children." Aizawa sighed, shaking his head as he looked down at the girl with bandages wrapped around both of her arms.

"Um, Aizawa Sensei, I thought I had been on that list for a long time now." The girl Bakugou admitted with a soft laugh.

"I'd have to agree with her." Todoroki commented, earning a playful eye roll from the ash blonde girl.

"Maybe so, all you do is cause trouble. But at least you listened to me... I don't care about anything else." The Sensei spoke, the girl busting out in laughter. "But now you're breaking bones like the main Problem Child, so stop it."

"Yes, Aizawa Sensei. I wasn't thinking properly and didn't take into account the amount of heat there was due to Endeavor'e Hell Flame... My arms just couldn't handle the whiplash of the explosions." The girl Bakugou admitted, Todoroki placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Just means you have more training to do. Todoroki, don't forget to come back to class, you can't stay here with her for the rest of the day. You, Iida, or Baku-, one of you two can come back and give her lessons from today." Those words spoken, Aizawa made his way back towards his classroom to talk to his students about their performance.

"I better go, Bakugou." Todoroki spoke, looking down at the ash blonde who was looking at her arms. Sighing, he removed his hand from her shoulder and began to walk away, but was stopped by her voice.

"Todoroki." She began, the boy turning around to face her.

"Hm?" He hummed in response.

"What do you think is gonna happen with Katsuki and I now?" She asked, wanting his honest opinion.

"Well..." The peppermint haired boy was unsure, having to put in some real thought. "Bakugou and Midoriya don't get along, and even though he's your brother, he has some real anger issues, you know that. To be honest with you, Bakugou, I'm afraid he may look at you the same way he does Midoriya. I'm sure that what happened with your explosions today was something you didn't even know you could do, but in Bakugou's mind, he'll probably see that as you've been hiding something from him. On top of that, the two people you've now conveyed your brutally honest feelings to, myself and Midoriya, are two people he hates the most. In his mind, you've picked sides, and it's not his."

The girl Bakugou laughed, "I can always count on your honesty.".

"Oh, sorry, that's not what you wanted to hear, was it?"

"No, no! Don't apologize! Your honesty is exactly what I wanted, Todoroki!" The girl gave him a bright grin that caused him to smile gently.

As Todoroki made it to the doorway, he spoke one last statement without even turning around, "Let's move forwards as ourselves, not as Enji Todoroki's son or Katsuki Bakugou's sister, but as Shoto and [F/n]."

The girl smiled to herself as she laid back in the bed and glanced at each of her arms. "So this is how you spent most of your days, huh, Deku?"

Hours had passed as the school day has come to a close and Iida asked Todoroki if he could be the one to deliver her class notes and everything. The boy agreed, and every single student in the class noticed that the boy Bakugou hadn't even asked about her, much less offer to take her school notes to her in Recovery Girl's Office.

"Now that I think about it, usually when Deku breaks his arms he's back in class quicker than Bakugou." Uraraka spoke, everyone knowing which Bakugou she was speaking of.

"That's correct, but there's many things to take into consideration." Iida began, "Midoriya is physically more fit than our Bakugou is, plus, he's broken his bones so many times it's easier for him to bounce back. I'm pretty sure this is the first time she's broken any bones, and to shatter all the bones in both of her arms, it's a pretty big blow." He explained.

"Iida's right." Midoriya added.

"Anyways, have a great day, classmates!" Iida announced as he left Class 1-A and made his way towards Recovery Girl's Office.

"Hey, Bakugou, are you gonna go check on Sis?" Kirishima asked, getting his things together. The ash blonde boys silence truly startled him.

"Tch, I don't need to. Icy Hot, Deku, and Glasses do it enough for the whole class." And he left.

"I've got a bad feeling about them, now." Kaminari commented, Kirishima nodding in agreement.

"That reminds me, what happened out there, Midoriya?" Sero asked, the green haired boy internally panicking.

"Yeah! It looked really intense, whatever it was." Ashido shivered.

"It's not really my business to tell." Midoriya replied with a nervous laugh. "Bakugou uh, just got some things off her chest, that's all."

"No offense Midoriya, but that sounds like a load of bull." Sero commented, tossing his backpack over his shoulder.

"We shouldn't be prying." Yaoyorozu spoke up. "No one pried into our fights, we shouldn't pry into theirs."

"What do you think, Todoroki?" Kaminari asked, everyone's attention now on the mentioned boy.

"I think our personal affairs are none of your all's business." Those words spoken, Todoroki took his leave of the classroom.

"Ouch." Kaminari fake pouted. "Wait, did he say our?"

"Considering that fight consisted of his best friend, close friend, and father, I'd say it's his business, too." Kirishima replied.

"All of you problem children, it's twenty minutes after the bell, outta my classroom!" Aizawa yelled, the students immediately running.

Iida had finally arrived at Recovery Girl's Office and was surprised to see the girl Bakugou up and moving around, stretching.

"Hey, I came to bring your class notes by." Iida spoke, setting the papers down on the bed she was no longer in. "How are you feeling, Bakugou?" He didn't want to pry too much into what happened, he felt bad for intentionally reading her and Midoriya's lips during the fight when he was able to, so he knew more than he should.

"I'm feeling great!" She grinned, pumping her fists together and wincing slightly. "Okay, so, maybe that wasn't my smartest idea."

"Your fight was intense." He commented.

"Yeah, we won though!" She replied, stretching out her legs on the floor.

"I should get going myself, but just text me if you need anything. As your Class Rep, as your friend, don't feel afraid to reach out... About anything."

"Thanks." She smiled, watching as Iida left. Not too long after he left, Recovery Girl came in.

"You should be good to go yourself, Bakugou. Leave the bandages on at least until this weekend, then you're good to take them off." Recovery Girl, the backbone of UA spoke, the girl nodding.

"Thank you, Recovery Girl!" The girl grinned, grabbing her schoolwork and running out the door and heading home.

Once she arrived home, a mere few seconds after walking through the front door, she received an aggressive smack on the back of the head before being hugged.

"Stupid [F/n]!" Mitsuki, her mother yelled. "I can't handle having to worry the way Inko worries everytime Izuku breaks his bones, so don't do that again!"

"Yes ma'am." The girl replied, hugging her mother back before the two let go. Mitsuki looked around for a moment before her eyes stared straight into the girl Bakugou's soul.

"What's going on between you and Katsuki? He came home and didn't even explain how you broke your arms, the brat didn't even seem like he cared." Mitsuki spoke, watching her daughters body tense up.

"Tch, he probably doesn't care." She replied honestly. Walking straight past her mother, the girl went to her bedroom and caught up on the schoolwork she missed from that day.

Masaru came out from the kitchen and looked at his wife who merely shook her head. "I don't know what happened today, but there's a rift between them now... And it's not a small one."

The next morning, breakfast was tense. Masaru and Mitsuki ate in silence as they observed the tension between their children. The twins ate in total silence, not even sparing the other a glance.

"So, are you two gonna talk or?" Mitsuki finally spoke, Masaru now waiting for the house to explode.

"I don't talk to liars." The boy spat, taking an aggressive bite out of his toast.

"Oh really!?" The girl challenged. "Since when am I a liar!?"

"There you go, lying again! Hanging around Icy Hot and Deku has rotted that brain of yours!"

"Excuse you!? Deku and Todoroki have nothing to do with this!"

"Hah!? That's bullshit! You break your bones, hide a part of your Quirk from me, what else are you lying about, huh!?"

"I broke my bones because of Endeavor's heat, you idiot! I hadn't anticipated how massive the explosions would be because I wasn't paying attention to how much sweat had built up on my palms! And hiding my Quirk!? Do you trust me that little!? I didn't even know I could set off explosions anywhere else besides my palms! Maybe it's because I've been too focused on you and not wanting to get in your way that I never paid attention to my own abilities!"

"Hah!? Like a small fly like you could ever get in my way! You're just like Deku! You're weak, you lie, and good for nothing!"

It was a truly awkward moment for Kirishima and Todoroki, who were standing outside the front door of the Bakugou household to walk to school with their best friends.

"Good for nothing!? That's rich coming from you! Is that why I won my fight with Endeavor with Deku cuffing him while Deku had to carry your weak self out the gate!?"

"Why you-!?" A knock at the door.

"Um, Mrs. Bakugou, it's Kirishima."

"I'm here, too." Todoroki spoke, not thinking to give his name.

The twins placed their dishes in the sink and left, not speaking another word to each other.

"Oh my." Masaru started, rubbing his temples.

"I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad." Mitsuki sighed.

The boy Bakugou and Kirishima had walked a decent distance ahead of Todoroki and the girl Bakugou, neither pairing able to hear what the other was talking about as they walked towards UA.

"Usually I'm glad when I'm right, but now I wish I was wrong." Todoroki admitted, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"It is what it is." The girl Bakugou sighed. After walking in silence for a couple minutes, a voice piped up in the distance.

"Todoroki, Bakugou!" Iida's voice came as he joined the two in their walk to school.

"Oh, hey guys!" Another voice came, belonging to Midoriya as he too, joined.

None of the four could see it, but the look on the brother Bakugou's face was enough to make a villain shiver. Kirishima just kept talking to him in efforts to calm him down, and was eventually joined by Kaminari.

"How are your arms feeling?" Iida and Midoriya asked in unison.

"Oh, they're fine!" She replied with a grin. "A bit sore, but much better than I expected to be honest."

"I used to think I was the Hand Crusher... And if my swine of a father is the Arm Breaker... It must be in our genes." Todoroki spoke thoughtfully, the three students walking with him busting out in laughter.

Iida wasn't sure why, but the smile that adorned her face as she laughed at her best friends innocence to things, well, seemed extra bright to him.

"What's so funny? I'm being serious." Todoroki spoke, everyone's laughter getting louder.

"Oh Todoroki, you're the best!" Midoriya managed to say between his spurts of laughter.

"I am? But I'm involved when people break their hands, and my father's involved with arm breaking... Oh no. [F/n], we can't be around each other anymore. I don't want your arms and hands to be broken." Todoroki spoke seriously, giving the girl a horrible idea.

Neither the girl Bakugou or Todoroki had noticed, but both Midoriya and Iida had somewhat surprised facial expressions when the Hot and Cold Quirk user referred to the girl by her first name.

"Well, if that's what you really think Shoto, fine." Turning her head, she linked an arm with Iida. "Class Rep, we're besties now."

Before Iida even got the chance to reply, Todoroki said and did something that shocked the group.

"Mina did tell me to cut all toxic men out of my life, and while you are not a man or toxic... I'm cutting you out." Copying the girl, he grabbed Midoriya's arm. "Midoriya, we're... What is it she said, oh, right, Midoriya, we're besties now."

"Do we get a say in this?" Both Midoriya and Iida asked in sync.

"No."
