iv. Brutal Honesty

Todoroki and the girl Bakugou returned to school from their internship, unlike everyone else who went home the night before, and then to school the next day.

Their reasoning being that the girl Bakugou needed to fight Iida before her brother saw any of the scarring.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Todoroki asked, the two walking side by side towards UA, just getting off of their train.

"To be quite frank, no, not at all, and I'm dreading every moment of it. Fighting Class Rep, that's something I've always wanted to do, and it's a bloody shame we didn't fight at the Sports Festival, but I'm still lying to Katsuki."

"But the fight is real, isn't it?"

"Well, yes, I have a lot of pent up things I'd like to say to him-"

"Then you're not entirely lying, and that's good enough."

"Thanks, Todoroki, I really appreciate it."

"Iida, are you sure about this? It'll really hurt your school record." Midoriya seemed more stressed than Iida did, which was quite shocking considering this plan didn't affect him at all.

"I'm sure, Midoriya." Iida answered honestly, not doubting what he was about to do in the slightest, something that he never thought he'd do, especially on school premises.

As he and Midoriya approached UA grounds, he saw Todoroki and the girl Bakugou speaking to one another as well, both with small smiles on their faces.

"It's funny how Kacchan and Todoroki basically hate each other, but Bakugou and Todoroki are best friends, and Kacchan and Bakugou get along more than most people do." Midoriya laughed slightly.

"The two Bakugou's are very similar, yet very different at the same time, it's actually admirable how well they get along with one another as well." Iida smiled ever so slightly at his own words, Midoriya looking at him suspiciously.

"You've never been one to compliment either one of them, did something change your mind?"

"Actually, yes. Her dedication to not lie to her brother, because she's always been one to not care about authorities rules, yet this time, she's following it, even if it breaks her heart to break a long time promise she made to him."

"Have you ever thought that she's doing it for us? Because if she told him the truth, she'd have to tell her that we were there, too. She's trying to not drag us down with her, Iida."

Iida was silent for a moment. "You're right."

In that moment, it was time.

A brutal part of this whole thing was that Iida would have to reopen the wounds already caused to her in order for it to be entirely believable. Iida, as she told him prior, did get her a new school uniform and shipped it to the hotel she and Todoroki were staying at, because she only brought one with her to her internship with Todoroki, following after Endeavor.

The boy Bakugou had come into frame, walking alongside Kirishima. Kaminari, Sero, and Ashido trailing behind the two.

Todoroki immediately acted as if he was restricting the girl Bakugou as her eyes landed on Iida. "Oi, Class Rep!"

"Yelling loudly can cause distractions to fellow students!" He yelled back, immediately talking quieter. "You should be respectful to your fellow students, Bakugou."

The Bakusquad immediately stopped walking, looking towards the chaotic scene.

Todoroki was holding back the girl Bakugou with all his might, while Midoriya was standing protectively in front of Iida. Uraraka and Asui were watching from a safe distance, not having the slightest idea as to what was about to unfold and why.

"Are you really trying to tell me about respect!? All you ever do is tell me what to do, and you think that's respectful!?" The girl practically barked, Todoroki having to tighten his grip around the girls waist.

Iida's text was true, truer than anyone could understand. This fight may be staged and set up, but there would be no lies.

"I am our Class President, I am merely trying to keep order within our class, something you are constantly trying to destroy." Many surrounding students were slightly taken aback at the tone Iida had used. He didn't know what it was about her, but she always managed to get under his skin more than anyone else ever could.

All of Class 1-A was now witnessing the situation, alongside some students from Class 1-B, Monoma included. Shinsou, too, found himself watching.

"Hah!? I'm a rather optimistic individual, and I strive to keep the mood light, or at least funny! But it's a little hard when someone, in the group of people I hang out with, constantly has a stick up their ass and tries to enforce their personal thoughts on me! Just because you think certain things are or aren't hero like doesn't make them true!"

Todoroki felt his jaw drop, his mouth slightly agape. He knew she had pent up words to say towards Iida, but he had no idea there was so much. His grip only tightened, now fearing that their fight might get even more intense than it already would.

Midoriya's stance was firm in front of Iida, and as the latter stepped forwards, his front half pressing against Midoriya's backside, the shorter boy could feel just how tense his friend had become.

"What is and isn't hero like is plain and simple, we're taught it every single day! What I say and what I suggest aren't my own personal thoughts, they're the things we're informed of from UA! Why are you so eager to argue and go against everything!?" Iida's heart was pounding, and not in a good way. It was pounding out of frustration.

"Beat his ass, [F/n]!" The male Bakugou yelled, earning a smack on the back of his head from Kirishima.

"Not manly, Bakubro!"

The male Bakugou noticed that despite his words, her eyes didn't even flicker in his direction, all of her attention was on Iida, it was like no one else was around.

And unfortunately, the same could be said for Iida, something that scared Midoriya, because Iida wasn't typically that kind of person.

"Because I'm my own damn person, that's why! If I'm gonna be a hero, I'm gonna be myself! I don't want the people I save to thank me for being some fake, I want them to thank me for who I am, and what I really do!" The girl Bakugou argued back, her hands gripping onto Todoroki's arms around her waist, the boy worrying as he felt small sparks against his skin.

"Rules are in place for a reason, Bakugou, and not following them is disrespectful to those who came before us and made those rules! You don't have to change who you are in order to respect the heroes and the laws!"

"Like you're one to—!" She cut herself off and Iida's eyes widened, knowing where she almost went.

"You'd do the same thing and you know it!" As those words left Iida's mouth, all bets were off.

Todoroki was forced to let go as he felt explosions against his arms, hearing the girl speak ever so softly, "Sorry, Todoroki."

The girl blasted her way towards Iida, and as she approached Midoriya, who still stood protectively in front of him, Midoriya soon found himself in a state of shock.

"OUTTA MY WAY, DEKU!" Never had Midoriya compared them in the way he was right now, after all, the two twins did have different personalities, even if they were both a bit wild. But in that moment, all Midoriya could see was the male Bakugou, despite knowing that that's not who he was looking at.

With Midoriya being frozen in place, his mind still processing just how much she appeared like her brother, the girl Bakugou, quite literally, blew Midoriya out of her way and proceeded to blast Iida backwards.

"I'm getting rather tired of your thorough disregard for authority and what other people tell you!" Iida revved up his engines and sped forwards faster than the girl Bakugou could react, and soon, his foot connected with her gut, and the slightest bit of blood began to be shed.

The girl blasted herself in close proximity, grabbing the male by his tie, leaning in and whispering something in his hear, no one else being able to hear a word.

"The difference between you and I, Class Rep, if that happened to my brother, I would've finished the job."

"Excuse you?" Iida's voice, too, was quiet, the two at a physical standstill, the girl Bakugou's grip on Iida's tie severely tight.

"You heard me, Class Rep."

"Have you meant everything you've said?"

"Every damn word."

Iida was silent for a moment, finally acting as his own hand came up, grabbing the girl by her loose tie. "Do I really bother you that much, Bakugou?" His tone was no longer just quiet, it was soft.

"Well, yes. Are you really getting tired of how I act?" Her tone, too, had taken a softer tone.

Everyone around was watching in anticipation, waiting for one of the two to snap and absolutely annihilate the other.

"Honestly, yes. Your genuine disregard for authority gets under my skin— you get under my skin."

"That says something, considering how patient you are."

"Believe me, I know."

"Hey, after all of this is said and done and I'm in the Nurses Office, we should talk, Class Rep."

"I'd like that." He admitted.

"Now kick me, and mean it. I know you have a bunch of pent up frustration towards me, it's only fair that you let it out."

"That's not very—"

"Shut up and kick me."

Without an ounce of hesitation, which surprised him himself, Iida drew back, his tie coming off, being left in the girls hand, and in one fluid motion, he dug the heel of his shoe into the girls lower torso and kicked upwards, using his Quirk to make it that much worse.

The girl Bakugou winced as she felt the remainder of her stitches get ripped open, the blood soaking through her partly ripped uniform shirt.

"Iida, Bakugou, stop this!" Uraraka's voice rang out.

"Fighting won't solve your problems, kero!" Asui stressed.

"Class Rep!" The girl Bakugou's voice roared, pushing her body back up with explosions from her left hand, proceeding to grab his previously injured shoulder with her right hand.

This wasn't a part of the plan.

Iida felt the intense heat from her palm, and less than a second later—

BOOM!

"Tenya Iida, Bakugou [F/n]!" Aizawa's voice boomed, both of the students finding themselves wrapped up in his capture cloth.

"Iida, I expect this from her, but not from you." Aizawa stated, his tone laced with disappointment.

"I apologize, Sensei." Iida spoke, bowing his head down, suppressing the pain he felt in his shoulder.

"Both of you, detention this afternoon. Now go to the Nurses Office, and don't you dare get in a fight on your way there." His voice was deep, both students knowing that he most definitely was not playing around.

"Yes, Sensei!" Iida replied, the girl Bakugou merely rolling her eyes.

Aizawa released them from his capture scarf and everyone watched the two walk into UA, making their way towards Recovery Girl's office.

"Now, do any of you know what the hell just happened?" The teacher asked, now facing the group of students. After seeing the confused looks on everyone else's faces, alongside many shocked facial expressions, he took it as a no.

"Get to class, all of you." Those words being spoken, everyone made their way to their respective classes, Class 1-A walking together to their homeroom class.

"Oi, Half-and-Half Bastard!" The male Bakugou's voice roared, running up to the heterochromatic boy. "You hang out with my sister a lot, what the hell just happened!?" While he had rooted for her to fight and win, he also knew she wasn't one to start a fight like that, at least not as suddenly as she did.

"Bakugou and Iida don't get along, it was bound to happen eventually." Todoroki answered plainly, continuing to walk.

"Todoroki's right." Uraraka added on. "I'm surprised it didn't happen any sooner." She admitted with a nervous smile and laugh.

"Kero." Asui agreed.

"It is rather surprising that Iida responded in the way that he did." Midoriya spoke, scratching the back of his neck. It's true, I had no idea it was going to get that bad. I'm sure it's the same for Todoroki, he looked surprised at both of their actions.

"It makes sense, actually." Kaminari spoke, he and the rest of the Bakusquad now a part of the conversation.

"Denki? Are you actually thinking?" Jirou asked with a bit of a laugh.

"Well duh! Anyways, everyone can only handle so much before they snap, Sister Bakugou is always defying authority and breaking all the rules, Iida is all about following rules, and due to his role, has some authority." The group of students around him were amazed as to what the blonde said, because it made sense— and he was the one who said it.

"Kami's right, Iida actually argues back with her, their pent up emotions towards one another finally came out and they snapped." Sero added, walking with his arms behind his head.

"Even so, the amount of brutal honesty was crazy." Kirishima sighed, running his fingers through his spiky hair. "They didn't hold back at all."

"Hah, Four Eyes deserved every bit of it!" Bakugou crossed his arms and the group of students entered their class.

Just another day at UA.
