Escape

This had been the longest hour of my life. I wasn't aware if my dad and the rest of his men had taken off yet, but I didn't particularly care. It could cause some problems for me when Mudflap arrived but I was really more concerned with Mudflap actually getting here.

Ironhide was going to be furious if he found out I was missing; much like my dad would be, but I had to do this. I had no choice anymore.

As I was about to drift off to sleep, the phone beside my bed started ringing. Hastily, I jumped up to answer it.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Aye little girl. I need you to listen to me, okay?" Mudflap's voice sounded quietly.

"Of course."

"Alright. I'm here but we got a problem. Your dad and the rest of his soldiers are runnin' around the base with the rest of the Autobots. What you need to do is leave your room. Do it right now," he instructed me.

I got up and walked over to the door. Thankfully the phone was chordless. Once I shut the door I began talking again.

"Okay. I'm out. What do I do now?" I asked him.

"Get to the stairs at the east end of the building and get down to the first floor before checkin' back. Avoid any soldier. We can't risk you gettin' caught. Ironhide would have my ass just as much as he would have yours and I just got a new paint job," he told me.

I just laughed and continued on down the hallway and towards the east staircase. Luckily there were no soldiers in the vicinity so I was safe from being caught for now. Soon I came to the three story staircase and groaned before starting down.

"You couldn't have chosen an elevator for me to go down?"

He chuckled. "Couldn't risk it. Are you down yet?"

I stepped off of the final step and opened up the door to the first floor. My breath caught in my throat as I caught sight of my dad standing over by a desk talking to a clerk. I stepped back through the door.

"Little problem. My dad is right there talking to some kind of base clerk," I told him.

"Shit, man. Is there a restroom anywhere near you? I'm for real just out the front door but he could still catch you."

I opened the door and craned my head around to look for a bathroom and nearly let out a sigh once I found one in the opposite direction of my dad. I stepped back in and closed the door.

"Yeah. There's one like in the opposite direction," I informed him.

"Good. Now check to see if he's going to be occupied long enough to for you to run and hide," he told me.

I did just as he said and once I saw that my dad was completely lost in his conversation, I darted to the bathroom, ignoring the many soldiers eyes on me. Hopefully they would just assume I had really bad diarrhea. I sat down in the corner of the room and put the phone back to my ear.

"Okay. I'm in the bathroom. What now?"

"Open the door only slightly, one eye lookin' out. You gotta wait for him to leave and as soon as he does, you run out the front door. I'm a block away but I'm gonna stay on the line with you just in case something happens," he told me.

I nodded, although he couldn't see it. Slowly, I opened up the door and nearly choked on my spit when I saw Ron standing beside my dad. He was supposed to be in the hangar for transport! Why the hell was he here?

The two of them looked rather worried yet Hide held an angry look on his face. The two of them were lost in conversation and I tried my best to make out the words.

"What do you mean she's gone?" my dad asked him.

Hide's face was twisted in an expression of deep concentration. "I went to see her before take off but when I got to her room she wasn't there."

My dad chuckled. "Did you check the bathroom?" he asked.

Hide rolled his eyes.

"I checked every possible place she could be. The peculiar thing is that the phone from her bedside table is missing," he told my dad.

My eyes widened. Why did he have to be so damn observant?

My dad pinched the bridge of his nose. "That girl is something else."

Hide scoffed. "And you haven't realized this yet?"

My dad just rolled his eyes and I closed the door.

"Mudflap we have an even bigger problem than my father. Mister Grumpshit is now in the vicinity with him. I repeat; Mister Grumpshit is here and ready to fuck my shit up!" I whisper-yelled.

"Ah shit man. You need to get out and fast before I lose a tailpipe," he exclaimed.

I sighed and opened the bathroom door again. Hide and my dad were still talking.

"I think we should go look for her. We still have enough time to find her before we take off," my dad said.

Ironhide just grunted and the two of them began walking down a long corridor. I sighed in relief and took this as my opportunity to run. The clerk my dad had been talking to met my eyes for a fraction of a second before I turned away and ran towards the front doors which were strangely too far away.

"Major!" I heard someone yell behind me.

Fuck, fuck, fuck my life.

"Oh shit," I heard my dad say as I neared the glass doors.

Before long I could hear the sound of rushed footsteps behind me. I shoved the doors opened and ran out into the evening air; surprisingly enough it was still light outside. I stopped in the middle of the sidewalk for a quick second to determine which way I should go. After spotting Mudflap a good distance away on my right, I began running.

"Azalea Lennox!" Ironhide called.

I turned my head to see them running not far behind me. I made a face before running even faster, but Hide was quite fast in his lesser form. It didn't take him long to catch up to me but I wouldn't let him catch me. I took the phone in my hand and threw it behind me; a low growl sounding not long after impact. It wouldn't do much but it would throw him off long enough for me to continue running.

Mudflap's figure was getting closer and closer to me. The passenger's side door opened almost instantly as he registered my presence.

"Lea, don't you dare!" Hide called.

"Azalea!" my dad yelled.

"I love you!" I yelled to them as I jumped into the car.

The door closed almost instantaneously and Mudflap sped off. I turned around just in time to see Hide shatter a car window with his fist. My dad stood behind him with his hands on his head and an agitated look on his face. I took a deep breath and sat back in my seat.

"They're going to kill me."

Mudflap sped up. "No. They're going to kill both of us, man."

I chuckled. "I'm sorry, but you know I have to do this."

"Yeah, I know. Why do you think I came to get you? I think you can handle yourself. You ain't that same scared little girl you was two years ago," Mudflap said.

I scoffed.

"I was not a scared little girl. I just didn't know of Decepticon existence. Now that I know about them, they just make me angry. The only thing that scares me is the fact that I'm apparently necessary to help your planet survive even though I don't know how. All that was said was that I was ready to be probed for incubation," I told him.

Mudflap stuttered in the road. "What the fuck? Oh no."

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

"They're tryin' to use you to aid in the survival of the hatchlings, I think," he told me.

My eyes widened. "Hatchlings? As in Decepticon babies?"

"Yep."

I scratched the back of my head. This made me want to throw up.

"How is that even possible?" I inquired.

"I don't think it is actually. They're going to try and find a way to make it possible though. My guess is Starscream is lookin' for revenge," he answered.

"Revenge for what?"

"Everything that happened just two years ago. You and Sam are kinda special to the Autobots and not to mention Sam's family has quite the history with Megatron. Why do you think you two are the Decpticon's main targets? Think a little bit, baby girl."

I groaned. "But I haven't done anything for Starscream to want to turn my body into some baby alien incubator."

He sped up yet again.

"Did you not just hear what I said Azalea? You ain't do anything to provoke Starscream. As a matter of fact I'd say he's quite taken with you but his wickedness overpowers him. He knows how important you are to the Autobots and he especially knows how important you are to Mister Grumpshit; the one Autobot that has repeatedly tried to kill him. He don't like it so he found a way to get back at him for it and that way also turned into a plan for his planet's survival. You are that plan, Azalea."

I raised a brow. "Well, that's not creepy at all."

"Just don't worry about it though. We got your back. We ain't gonna let anything happen to you," he told me.

"I know you won't and I love you guys for it," I told him.

"We love you too, baby girl."

"Does everyone know I'm coming?" I asked.

"Yeah. They're expectin' you. Don't worry," he assured me.

I smiled and leaned my head against the window, just watching as Mudflap sped dangerously passed cars and trucks on the freeway. It didn't even phase me though. I just couldn't wait to be with Sam.
