Apologies

Currently I was sitting on the couch with Adalyn, the movie Avatar was playing on the flat screen TV in front of me, but I wasn't paying much attention to it. The only thing I was worried about was Ironhide. He had been gone since about ten o'clock this morning and it was now eight o'clock at night.
My parents and Annabelle went out about three hours ago and they had yet to return either, but honestly I wasn't particularly worried about them. Whenever Ironhide got angry, he was very impulsive, much like I was, so I was kind of afraid he'd gone off and done something stupid, like blow up the Lincoln Memorial or something like that.
"Are you okay, Lea?" Adalyn asked from beside me.
I looked at her and nodded. "Yeah, why?"
"Well, because this morning you said the same thing yet you went full ape shit once Ironhide walked into the room," she teased.
"I didn't particularly lie to you. The only reason I was even remotely okay was because of the dream I had last night, but I was still mad at Ironhide for what he said," I explained to her.
She gave me a curious look. "What was your dream about?"
I sighed and leaned my head against the back of the couch.
"It was about Braelynn, my friend who was killed by a Decepticon two years ago. I went to sleep listening to an old song we used to love and she showed up in my dream. She tried to assure me that her death wasn't at all my fault and that she didn't understand why he would even think about saying something like that to me," I answered her.
Her eyes were wide. "I think stuff like that is so cool. That's the kind of stuff that makes me believe in ghosts," she said excitedly.
I chuckled. "It isn't the first one I've had. Three months ago, I had one because of the whole being separated from Ironhide ordeal. She assured me then that I wouldn't be away from him for much longer and then told me to wake up and answer the door before my roommate got impatient with me. I woke up to answer the door and there you were," I told her.
"Seriously?"
I nodded. "Apparently she's always around. It's weird, but I believe she's here. She sure has proven to me that she is," I laughed.
"That is so cool," she exclaimed.
I smiled and jumped up as the front door burst open. Ironhide's angry, lesser form walked in and I got up abruptly, strolling over to him. He refused to look up from the floor as I approached him and I frowned, taking his face in both of my hands.
"Ironhide, look at me," I pleaded.
He sighed and finally looked up from the floor. He met my eyes for a split second before his focus shifted to my left cheek. He brought a hand up to my face, his thumb gently rubbing the tender spot. Before I knew it, I was being enveloped in a protective hug. Hesitantly, I wrapped my arms around his waist.
"I'm sorry," he spoke quietly. I sighed and pulled away from him before turning to Adalyn who was watching us curiously.
"I'll be back momentarily," I told her.
She just smiled and nodded before turning back around to face the TV. I grabbed Hide's hand and lead him up the stairs and into my bedroom. After shutting the door, I walked over and plopped down onto my bed while Ironhide sat at the foot of my bed.
"Feel free to say what you were going to say this morning before you took off," I instructed.
"I apologize for what I said last night. You know I didn't mean it," he responded.
I raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure? Why would you even think to say something like that to me?" I chided.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "I was angry and wasn't thinking. You know how I am, Azalea."
I scoffed. "No, because I know you would never say that to me no matter how angry you were. Do you know how that made me feel about myself?"
He looked at me. "I know that, Lea. And I had a very distinct idea about how you felt after you very stubbornly locked yourself in your bedroom. You're quite lucky I didn't break the door down," he retorted.
I groaned and laid down. "It wouldn't have helped the way I felt. It only would've caused problems with Sarah," I informed him.
"Simple problems that could easily be resolved; problems that I'm not worried about. The only thing I'm worried about is you," he retorted.
"You're so lucky I had that damn dream last night," I tried to whisper.
He wound up hearing me. "What dream?"
I stared up at the ceiling, not wanting to answer his question, but I knew I would have to or he would keep pressing on and on.
"The dream where Braelynn comes to visit me when I'm upset or some shit. She told me it wasn't my fault she died and that she didn't understand why you would ever think of saying something like that to me, you fuck-wad."
"Calling me names won't do you any good, Azalea."
I rolled my eyes. "My apologies, dick."
"Azalea," he seethed.
"Sorry! I'm just kind of upset over this whole thing. It's not everyday that the person you care most about in your life blames you for the death of their best friend. Like, seriously. I tried to save her and everything! I just-"
I was cut off by his lips on mine. Immediately, I relaxed, wrapping my arms around his neck while he wrapped his around my waist, pulling me closer to him. Quickly, I pulled away from him, pressing my lips into a tight line. He wore a smirk on his face.
"You're a cheater," I remarked. He chuckled and pulled me onto his lap.
"At least it shut you up. I truly am sorry for saying what I said. Had I been thinking clearly, the thought never would've crossed my mind, Azalea. I just need you to forgive me," he said.
"I forgive you. Just think before you speak next time or I swear I will rip your processors out," I threatened, mentally scolding myself for forgiving him so easily. .once again.
He just laughed. "I assure you I will try my hardest."
I looked up at him. "Where did you go today?" I inquired.
He pursed his lips. "I went down to the base to have a very in-depth conversation with Optimus about Starscream's actions towards you last night. I swear to Primus I will end that slagging Seeker the next time I see him," he growled.
I sighed. "Calm down. It's really not that big of a deal. If anything it was my fault. He told me to cooperate and I didn't so I paid the consequences," I said calmly.
He grunted. "It is most definitely not your fault. He shouldn't be pursuing you in the first place, Azalea."
"He told me he wanted me the same way you want me, Hide. I was actually surprised when he hit me after he said that to me," I spoke softly.
"He's a Decepticon. Their wickedness surpasses their ability to show any kind of compassion towards any being, especially humans. That explains why even though he's quite taken with you, he wouldn't hesitate to hurt you. I, on the other hand, would never in a million years think of laying a hand on you," he responded as he pulled me closer to him.
I wrapped my arms around him and smiled.
"Aside from training sessions, I know you wouldn't. Speaking of which, when do I get to kick your ass again?" I teased.
"You'll have to come down to the base. Personally, I would love to see you fight all of the Autobots," he chuckled.
"I'm down for it. When though?"
"How about tomorrow? We haven't been very busy down there lately so I'm sure this will give them something to do," Hide commented.
I smiled happily. "Can Ada come or is it still too dangerous for her?" I mocked.
He smirked. "She's more than welcome to join us. I have plans of my own for her," he stated.
I rolled my eyes, knowing exactly what he was planning to do. "Don't be too hard on her. She's like a little baby," I cooed.
He scoffed. "Hardly. That little femme is stronger than she even realizes; I can see it in her character. Tomorrow I'm going to help her realize what she's truly capable of," he told me.
I shook my head. "That sounds kind of sinister if you ask me. Taking advantage of my poor, helpless roommate."
"Hey, I am not poor and helpless," Adalyn retorted. I looked up to see her standing by the door. Quickly, I got off of Hide's lap and hopped onto my bed. Hide chuckled and I scratched the back of my head.
"Come in, won't you?"
She stuck her tongue out at me before walking into the room and sitting down in my desk chair.
"I came in here to see if you wanted to order some pizza but you were too caught up in talking smack to even notice my presence."
"Well, my apologies. How would you like to come with me to the base tomorrow? I'm going to do a little training session with the Autobots and you are going to do one with this one here," I informed her.
Her eyes widened and she glanced between the two of us.
"Him? As in the toughest Autobot out of all of the Autobots?" she inquired. He chuckled and I shook my head.
"No. Ironhide. Not Optimus," I laughed. Hide grunted and smacked my arm.
"No, I beg to differ. Optimus is like a fairy compared to him. He may be a Prime and all, but still. Hide scares me sometimes," Adalyn retorted.
Ironhide snorted back a laugh.
"He's really not as tough as you think. Trust me. I've beat him plenty of times," I chuckled.
Suddenly, I was in a headlock. My eyes widened and I tried to get loose, but Ironhide's grip was far too strong.
"Want to say that again, punk?"
Adalyn laughed.
"You're weak as shit. I said it, punk." Somehow, I managed to maneuver myself out of his hold. He stood up and turned to grab me again, but before he could, I jumped on his back.
"Slaggit, Lea."
I laughed, as did Adalyn.
"This is seriously all you're up against. Nothing particularly threatening," I informed her.
He shifted me to his front where I very hastily flipped over, my hands now touching the ground. I unclasped my legs from his body and performed what gymnasts would call a back walkover. I stood up, Adalyn's eyes widened in surprise while Hide just stared at me with a raised brow.
"Since when have you been able to do that?" Hide asked me.
I smirked.
"I've always been able to do it. I'm a lot more flexible than you think. Comes with the training. It almost happened a few months ago. I literally almost flipped shit on your ass when you and dad were chasing me back at base in New Jersey," I told him.
I further proceeded to do another back walkover, thankful that my bedroom now was about three times the size of the one back in Washington state. It never really occurred to me to actually perform these, but now that I had done them, I realized they were quite fun and could possibly aid me in fighting. Standing up, my eyes met those of Adalyn and Ironhide who were watching me curiously.
"Are humans even supposed to bend that way?" Hide inquired.
I snorted. "I don't think so, but we do it anyway. Trust me though; what I just did is nothing compared to what majority of other girls and guys can do," I informed him. He grunted.
"So, Ada. Are you down for fighting Mister Grumpshit right here?" I asked, throwng my hands on my hips.
She pursed her lips. "I don't know."
I chuckled. "He won't hurt you and from what he said earlier, I don't really think you have that much of a choice. Just don't be afraid of him. Seriously," I assured her.
"You're one smart remark away from me locking you inside my cabin for three days," Hide warned.
I let out a loud laugh. "I'm horrified," I baited.
He ran over to me and before I could get out of the way, he had me over his shoulder. I squealed and quickly waved goodbye to my laughing roommate before Ironhide ran from the bedroom.
*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
