Chapter 1
•••••••••
I walked into my first period class, Geography, or as I like to call it, Georgraphy. Yeah... I know. I'm an awkward person. Well today's the first day back from winter break and I wasn't ready to go back to school at all.
"Good morning, class. Hope you all had a good break." Even the teacher sounded like she was dreading school as much as us students.
"Well, today we're going to start a project about a person or people in your life that influence you the most. I'll hand out a paper in a minute that has all guidelines and stuff on it. But anyways, this will count towards your final project grade so do your best."
Ewww, final projects. And wait, why are we doing this in geography? Oh well. I guess this just means I finally have the opportunity to put the Beatles into one of my projects! I perked up after that, looking a little more awake.
"So this can be about your parents, siblings, or even your friends... just as long as you can show how influential they are in your life."
Well I guess it would be easier for me to have it about my mom, but I can't do that to my boys! I laughed at myself, because I was acting like I personally knew them.
I sat in my desk, probably looking like a maniac while I thought about this. Oh well.
•••••••••
"Alright, you can all go now!"
Thank goodness the physics teacher let us leave five minutes before the bell rang. It's been such a long day.
Since I had a little more time, I decided to take the long route home. The short route isn't as pretty, but the long way is truly beautiful. There's a beach about 50 feet away from the road, and the sky always looks amazing too. The sea level is a lot lower than the road, though, or else there would be so much flooding. But anyways, even during the wintertime, it looked beautiful.
I got in my car, put on my Beatles 1 CD, and pulled out of the school parking lot. Wow, this is great. My CD had resumed with what I was last playing: Ticket To Ride. It was pretty snowy and icy out, so I had to be extra careful driving. But I didn't remember that detail until I started spinning out of control by the beach.
Shit.
I couldn't control the car, and when I thought I was going to crash going down into the beach, everything stopped. It was like time had stopped.
Everything around me turned white and I was just floating in it. It felt like there was so much pressure being put onto my body, as if I was being squeezed like a lemon. Then everything went black.
•••••••••
What the heck is going on? I woke up with a horrible headache. The last thing I remembered was spinning out of control in my car, and now I'm here. Wait, where am I? I sat up and looked at my surroundings. It looked like I was in a completely different world! I was in what seemed like an outdated version of a bedroom. I kinda liked it. I slowly got up and looked at the calendar hanging on the wall. The date was January 2, 1963.
Oh. My. Gosh.
I screamed so loud that someone ran over and opened the door of the room. I screamed even more when I saw who was opening that door.
"p-PAUL!!!"
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM?!?"
Paul had a mortified look on his face, as I did too.
"I have no idea what just happened. I must be dreaming. I was just driving, started spinning in the car, and now I'm here staring straight at the Paul McCartney. I'm so sorry for screaming, it's just really overwhelming for me right now." I tried to stay calm, but I knew I was going to break down and cry any minute.
"It's alright but seriously? 2017? You got to be lying. Tell me the real reason how you got into my room." Paul wasn't convinced of the truth, and I was getting freaked out even more.
"I-I'm really not lying, please believe me. I have no clue how I got here and I just want to go h-home," I started bawling.
Paul sat me back on the bed and rubbed my shoulder. He thought for a good few minutes. How could this be real? Should I trust her? Well I mean, her clothes look really odd so maybe she is telling the truth. Paul decided to take a chance and believed her.
"Okay, please don't cry. I'm going to believe what you said, but how in the hell does someone time travel?"
"Don't ask me." I sniffled. "This is absolutely the weirdest thing that's happened in my life."
"Well this is bloody crazy, but don't worry. I'll try to help you get back home. I have an extra bedroom in my house that you can stay in. Everything will be okay." Paul looked at me with promising eyes.
"Thank you so much, Paul! If you're fine with it, I'll stay at your place until we can figure out how I can get back home." I gave him a hug that surprised him at first, but then he hugged back.
"Don't worry, I'm totally fine with it. You're safe here... By the way, how do you know me?!? Am I like your grandfather or something?!"
"No! You're not my grandfather!!" I laughed. "I know you because you're well-known in 2017. Maybe not as well-known as you were, but the older people know you very well."
"Oh." Paul looked confused but then he realized. "So if I'm well-known by older people in 2017, does that mean I'm going to be really famous soon?!?" Paul was smiling like a child does when he gets candy.
"Yes, yes you will. But I don't want to give away too much because it might screw up the future."
"Oh, okay. By the way, what's your name?" Paul said with a smile.
"I'm Jane.. um... Asher." Wow, nice one Jane. You can't even say the right last name. Well it's too late now, so I guess I'll be known as Jane Asher in the 60s.
"Well, nice to meet you, Jane." Paul grinned and kissed my hand.
I blushed a little. Wow, he's even hotter in real life.
"What was that?"
Holy shit. I just said that out loud. Oh my gosh.
"Oh, um, I said wow, it's so hot. You know, because it's kind of hot in this room." My face was burning with embarrassment.
"Oh, well I can open a window if you'd like." Paul knew exactly what she said, but he played along with it.
"Oh that's okay. It isn't too hot in here anymore."
Paul laughed at me, and then said, "Okay well I'm going to leave you alone for a bit. I can't let you out of the house like that."
I looked down at my shirt and leggings. He's right. I'd look so weird with clothes like this in 1963. "Okay. By the way, do you have anything to eat?"
"Sure! Here, let me show you where the food is." He walked out the bedroom and I followed.
His house was so different from the houses in 2017. We walked past a few rooms until we got to the kitchen. He opened up the fridge that had some fruits, leftovers, water, and beer in it.
"So what would you like?"
"Hmmm, how about an apple?" He picked up a shiny green apple.
"Here ya go!" He said with a smile.
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome. So I'm going to go get some clothes and stuff for you. I'll be back in about an hour."
"Okay! Bye!"
Paul opened the door to leave. "Don't start the house on fire," he winked.
I rolled my eyes, and he shut the door. Hmmm now what do I do? I decided to walk over to the TV and I turned it on. I Love Lucy was on.
"Oh my gosh I love this show!"
I sat on the couch, eating my apple that looked just like the Apple Corps logo.
"I still can't believe I'm sitting here in Paul McCartney's house right now. I wonder what I'd be doing right now if I didn't pop up in 1963. Would I be... dead?"
•••••••••
Hi, I hope you liked that! I'll be writing the next chapter shortly. I always lie and say I'll have it done by tomorrow when I end up not having enough time to finish it, so I'll just leave it at shortly 😂. Well, until next time, ✌️❤️✌️❤️
