Chapter 43 : Caught Loving

It became nighttime, though it was not that late, and they just finished their movie marathon. However, the couple still wanted to stay a little longer to bask in the moment by lying down next to each other on the picnic mat to just look at the twinkling stars.

"I wish this night wouldn't end," Oddey sighed.

"Me too," Gage replied.

"This place is just wonderful. I could just stay here forever."

"Me too, just you and me here."

"Maybe when I become a teacher in my own school here, I'll just lie here after classes instead of going home," the Juliet joked.

The architect had another idea in mind after heart after hearing that. "Why don't we make it our home and school at the same time?" He suggested.

Oddey gave it a thought and seemed to agree. "Hmm... I guess that's not a bad idea. It'll be more sustainable that way. Right?"

"That's right," Gage confirmed to her. "And every night, we can dine under the stars and with the view of the lake."

"Every night is a starry night."

"I remember you said that you want to paint a mural? What about this house?"

The Juliet sat up and turned to the abandoned home to start picturing what she wanted to make. "Hmm... I don't know yet, maybe something floral to blend the surroundings and all. What do you think?"

"Sounds great, after I make it into a calamity-proof house that is," He replied, then he got up and shifted his view to the house.

"Can you still do that?"

"Yup, with the magic of restoration." Gage winked at her. "Anything to keep you safe."

"Then do whatever you have to do," Oddey replied.

"I can't wait for the play to be over so I can start my internship, and then maybe I can start with this project."

"Is that even possible to work on this while you're an intern?"

"Probably not, I just want to start focusing on my intern, that's all."

"Hang in there," the girl told him. "So if you applied to CASAS, would that mean you'll be away all the time?"

"Why? Are you going to miss me if I do?" Gage teased her.

"Get over yourself." Oddey rolled her eyes. "I'm just asking, but yes, I will miss you very much."

"Maybe not at first. Hopefully, I will, and then I can earn my way to my Dad's company."

"I know you will."

"What about you? Have you ever thought of applying for an internship, or maybe working with an artist, or at an art gallery?" The boyfriend asked her.

However, Oddey recalled a suggestion from her father. "Yeah... I have, but," She blurted accidentally from that last part.

"But what?"

"Uhm... " The young artist made this cringing face.

Gage noticed his girlfriend's facial expression. "What's that? What's with the face?" He asked her, even imitating her.

"I'd tell you, but I'm afraid that you might get upset."

"Okay, I promise I won't. What is it?"

The Juliet became somehow nervous, so she took his hand. "I was offered to go to this art school in Europe."

Gage was taken aback by that and got confused. "Oh... Why do you think I would get upset about something like that? Is it because we will be far away from each other?"

"No, it's because... Mr. Magnum offered it to me," Oddey said. She was right. It did make him upset since it was obviously written in his face, and it made him quiet. "So I told him that I... don't want it..."

"Oddey, Oddey, no, that's okay." The Romeo stopped her. He was even unbothered by it, but he did feel bad. "If you want it, go for it."

"Huh? But he's..."

"Listen. Just because I hate him, especially what he did to my parents, I don't want you to give up something that means a lot to you just for me. I understand that he did so much for you and your mother."

The Juliet was in awe that he said that. "Gage, it's alright. Plus, I don't need him to do me any favors," she expressed. "I can do that all by myself."

"I do believe that. Still, if you want to, just take it. You don't have to worry about how I feel about it," he assured her.

"You don't?"

"I admit, it did bother me at first that your mother and Mr. Magnum is in a relationship. It just took a while for me to process it out that it's not your fault that it happened," Gage confided.

"It's my fault for not telling you earlier," Oddey replied.

"I'm over that. Though I have to ask, what do you think about him?"

"About Mr. Magnum..." the young lady stammered. "Well, not a lot. Even though Mum has worked with him for a long time, I don't get to know him as much, especially when they started dating. I always thought that he was cool. I never thought I could say anything bad about him until... what he did to you and your parents."

"At least you see that," the boyfriend said. "But aren't you worried about your mum?"

"Meh... She's happy with him. I won't come between that. The only good thing about them hooking up is that I get an allowance and I can go to CarmU."

Gage laughed. "That is a benefit. Thanks for telling me this."

"Don't mention it."

"Let's stop talking about him. I might jinx this date."

"Sorry that I brought him up," Oddey chuckled.

The Romeo stood up and put his hand out to her. "Would you like to dance, my Juliet?" He asked her.

The girlfriend smiled at him and nodded. "I would love to, my Romeo." She took his hand and got up.

After that, Oddey placed her hand on Gage's shoulder while the boyfriend put his hand on her hips, then they just began to slow dance under the night sky like it was prom night. The couple's forehead touched and gazed at each other's eyes.

Even though there was no music to dance to, they were able to move well. It was just the two of them alone in their little world. The Romeo gently spun his Juliet, and they faced one another again, then back to their waltz position.

"Oddey," Gage uttered while they were still swaying.

"Yes?" The girl responded.

"After everything, I want you to know that I will be there for you no matter what happens, and no matter the challenges that we'll face in our life. What's important to me is that I won't let anything come between us," He told her, yet he noticed that Oddey became silenced from his moving words. "I love you."

"I love you too," Oddey answered back.

Eventually, the mood fell into place when the Romeo gazed at her once again as they kept dancing and noticed how alluring she looked under the starry night. It was overwhelming that he started to pull and kissed her cheeks.

The Juliet just let him be, as she felt his warm lips on her skin and just fell into a trance. It had gotten so deep instantly that her body just relaxed at the time her inhibition vanished.

Gage then moved down to her neck and kept brushing his lips there as well while his girlfriend kept relishing the moment. Afterward, his hands were at her back, beginning to pull down her off-shoulder top.

That was when Oddey woke up to reality in the middle of the passion when she realized that she was about to give herself to her Romeo, and that was when she felt fearful, but it was not the sex that scared her. "Oh, my God!" She gasped. "Uhm... Gage. Gage. Wait. Wait."

The boyfriend immediately backed away when he heard his Juliet sounded very distressed. "Oh God, I'm sorry, was I too rough?"

"No, no, it's not that," She panted while fixing her top.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." Oddey moved away from him and took a bottle of water to ease herself.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No. Listen. I love you, and I know we're both in college, and we can do whatever we want, but... I'm not sure if I'm ready for that... I... I don't want premarital sex. I'm sorry, you must think I'm lame..."

"Oddey, Oddey, no, no, it's okay. I get it," Gage told her and started feeling very guilty that he covered his face with his hands. "It's my fault. I started it. I'm sorry."

"No, Gage." Oddey held his face. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"You sure?" He asked her in a very worried tone. "The last thing I want is to hurt you."

"Yes, I'm okay."

"I'm sorry, I should've... controlled my emotions better," the Romeo apologized.

"Me too," the Juliet added. "But to be honest, I kind of liked it."

The lovebirds just smiled at one another, and suddenly, they heard thunder rumbling. "I think we should go now," Gage said as he looked up at the sky and saw that the night sky had become red.

"Right," Oddey agreed.

So then Gage grabbed the basket while Oddey took the picnic mat and her boyfriend's laptop, then quickly went to the car since tiny raindrops were falling on them. Although, they were able to get inside just in time.

"Some date, huh?" The Romeo thought that the sudden rain must have meant that the date was jinxed as he started the vehicle.

"Hey, I still have the time of my life no matter what happens," Oddey replied with the sweetest smile on her face. "It kinda reminds me of a scene in Wind Rises, you know."

"Oh, yeah, I guess it does," He responded. After that, he started driving.

Meanwhile, around later at night, Leon was in his car with Eva beside him as they were driven back to the hotel after a long day in the office.

"Your lawyer will meet you tomorrow morning at ten o'clock," His personal assistant said to him.

"Perfect. Thanks, Eva," the CEO replied.

"Anything to bring that son of a bitch down."

Leon chuckled. "I know. Let's see how much balls he could show in court."

The next minute in an intersection road, the car had to stop because there was a red light and they were at the very front. However, there was another car, the black jeep, that was on the other road and it was also visibly at the front.

While they were waiting, Leon happened to look out the car window while Eva had to answer some messages through her phone. To his horror, his eyes were peeled towards the other vehicle.

He instantly recognized the two people through the front windscreen. It was his daughter, Oddey, with his enemy's son together being all lovey-dovey in the car not knowing someone had their eyes on them.

Everything became silent, the man could not hear anything from his shock as he watched what he considered in his mind a mortal sin from the young lady whom he raised and loved like his own.
