Chapter 34 : You Are My Juliet
It had been two days since they confessed their feeling towards each other and the first week of Oddey and Gage's slow yet sure relationship.
It was lunchtime, Gage was with his friends while Oddey was with Rita as they sat one separate table. The two would exchanged looks and smiles whenever they happened to catch a glance at one another.
"Someone is very happy today," Felix teased.
"No, I think you are," the Romeo teased back, then the two laughed it off. However, the only girl in the gang weirdly gazed at them.
"What are you guys talking about?" Courtney asked. Of course, she was the last one to know what was going on.
"Oh, you haven't told her yet?" Felix asked.
"Nope, not yet," Gage said.
"Tell me what?" Courtney questioned them.
The two boys exchanged glances and then looked at her. "Well, here's the thing..." the architect students stammered.
"We both have girlfriends," the roommate revealed deliberately.
"Wow, subtle."
The poor girl nearly choked on her juice, "I'm sorry," she coughed. "What was that last part?"
"WE BOTH HAVE GIRLFRIENDS," Felix answered intentionally louder to spite the frustrated actress.
"Dude." Gage punched his buddy's arm side.
"Oh," Courtney gulped while Felix stared at her, studying her reaction to all that, then turned to Gage. "You two are dating those two."
"Should I say it any louder?" Felix said in a sarcastic tone.
"Enough." The architect student nudged his roommate once more and then turned to his female friend. "Yes, I'm with Oddey, and Felix is with Rita."
"You... and... Oddey," the actress choked.
"Yes."
"So you like her?"
"Yeah, I do," Gage answered.
"So you two are a thing now?"
"Yes, we are."
"Yeah, it also means double date minus you," Felix interjected in a mocking tone.
"Jesus, dude." Gage hit him again.
"Ahem... I get it, I'm happy for you," she choked, then continued eating to hide her disappointment. Felix put his head down to hide his smug face.
Meanwhile, the two girls were sitting at the farthest part of the cafeteria eating their breakfast together. "Now that Gage is your boyfriend, doesn't it bother you that your boyfriend is playing Romeo in the play with you 'her'?" Rita asked.
"A little, but it's just one play that'll soon be over in less than two months," Oddey answered. "So yes, it doesn't entirely bother me."
"Good point. So are you two going on a date someday?"
"Hmm... I don't know. I hope so."
"Me too, I'm sure that it's going to be romantic."
"Oh, it will."Oddey grinned.
Later it was rehearsal time for the play, the young lovers were so preoccupied with their respective jobs that they did not get the chance to talk, Gage had to practice with his fellow cast members while Oddey had to start working on the other part of the sets.
Although Madame Vestia noticed how Gage was getting better with his acting skills because there was so much they had finished in a week.
'Was it because of a little lucky charm called Oddey?' Madame Vestia thought in her mind. She could see one of her best art students was watching Gage and, at the same time, accomplishing a lot of work on the set.
When it was over, Madame Vestia walked to the stage, "Great job, everyone," she praised them, then turned to the leading stars. "Especially you two, Mr. Munro and Ms. Jude."
"Thank you," Courtney said to her, which made her head bigger from feeding some compliments here and there.
"Yeah, thanks," Gage replied.
"I can see you have some... lucky charm there, must be a keeper," Madame Vestia teased by moving her eyes to point towards Oddey while Gage was too choked up to answer, and Courtney was green in envy.
Everyone left to go to their classes except for Oddey as she was working by doing some cutting. About minutes later, Gage got back with two warm beverages for him and her from Usagi cafe because he wanted to be that kind of guy for him who was deserving of her love.
He placed the two drinks on the table and then embraced her from behind, "Miss me?" Gage whispered into her ear.
"You could say that," she giggled and turned to look at his face. Gage was about to pull in for a kiss, yet she stopped him by putting her finger on his lips, "Not here, what if someone sees us?"
"Then let's just say we were rehearsing for the kissing scene."
"But, I'm not Juliet."
"But, you are my Juliet," He flirted.
"Oh, you," Oddey giggled once more, plus her cheeks got red.
"Well, it's true," Gage replied, then pulled out a seat for himself so he could sit next to her.
"Well, my Romeo, we should not risk it."
"Alright."
"Thanks for the drink, but you don't have to buy me my macha," the art student told him.
"I want to, so get used to it."
"Oh, I will." Oddey grabbed her cup and began taking a sip.
"So what are you doing?" he asked her.
"Just starting to make the next set," she answered, then winked at Gage. "Since we get to put it to test.
"Need help?"
"No, I'm good, I can do this."
"Anyway, are you free this weekend?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I was thinking, if you want, I'm thinking we should go out this weekend. You know, like a date?" Gage suggested.
Oddey was stunned. It was something she was waiting for this guy she liked asking her out, "Yeah... sure," she replied. "Where?"
"Uhm... it's a surprise."
"Oh! a surprise?" She sounded giddy.
"Yup."
"Hmm... maybe give me a little hint?"
Gage got closer to her face. "If you kiss me, I'll think about it."
"You know what, not knowing is twice the fun." Oddey did not want the risk to be seen by anyone who might come into the auditorium.
"Worth the shot, but I promise you that you will love it."
"Well, I can't wait for it."

In the Magnum Tradings, Leon was being fixed by a stylist, and there was a television crew preparing in his office with a news reporter present, too. "Looking very snazzy as always, Boss," His personal assistant said.
"Thank you, Eva," the CEO replied. "I want to look good, especially for what I am about to do."
"Are you ready for this?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
Later, once everything was set, Leon sat down with the reporter, and the camera was aimed towards them. "And we're on," the director told them.
"Live in Magnum Tradings. Here we are with Leon Magnum, the CEO of one of the most remarkable architecture firms in the country. Designing homes to multiple elites in Dubai and all over the world, and loved by many of his employees for his generous treatment," said the reporter. "But behind his success, there were huge and alarming hurdles that this man faced in his life. Isn't that right, Mr. Magnum?"
"Yes," Leon confirmed. "That's right."
"Please do tell."
"Before sitting here in my own office, I used to be an in-house head architect in Ebony Estates until they accused me of stealing their money and put me in prison."
"That's terrible," the news reporter replied. "What happened after that?"
"I can tell you who's behind my unfortunate demise, and his name is Adrian Munro."
"And who's Adrian Munro? How is he involved in this?"
"Adrian is now the VP of Ebony Estates. He is my ex-wife's new husband, and he was my trusted friend."
"That trust must've tarnished."
"Definitely." Leon faced the camera. "My ex-wife, Marie Munro, had an affair with Adrian Munro for God knows how long. I found them in bed together about twenty years ago."
The reporter then looked directly with a smirk on his face. "Some women are just never contented. The jokes on her that she married a wolf in sheep's clothing. So the husbands and wives out there, if your spouse doesn't appreciate you for making the dough, leave while you're at it."
"That's right, they're not worth it. However, not only did he steal my wife, but he also accused me of embezzlement. He tried to kill me in prison by paying an inmate to attack me dead."
"Oh, my. I can not fathom those events that happened to you, yet now you are this successful man who has everything. What's the purpose of all this?"
"As you now know, all this did not hand it to me in a silver platter. I am lucky that I survived that incident, and one of the clients I worked with from Dubai bailed me out and made me work with him until I became the CEO of the company," Leon explained. "None of them matters if I don't have justice. I do not deserve everything that happened to me at the hands of that monster."
Eva stood at the side, watching her boss with pride. "I agree, Mr. Magnum. Justice has not prevailed," the reporter said. "People like them should not get away with this."
----
Hours after that interview, Marie was in her aerobics class. She just finished working and headed to the main entrance. Once she got there, she chatted with a front desk person for a bit. That was when she noticed some eyes were on her, and those people were whispering to one another.
It felt very odd, uncomfortable, and creeped out at the same time because she could tell that she was being judged.
"Hey, Marie," a random woman called her since half of the women there knew her. "Where did you graduate? Anaconda University." Then laughed it off with her friends as they left the place.
"What?" Marie mumbled to herself and looked all confused.
After that, a second woman spoke to her. "You should go to an all-you-can-eat buffet. It's obvious that you are not contented with one type of variety," she mocked her.
"That's a good one." Another one jumped in. "I bet you do a lot of squatting today. Probably, you're training to spread your legs to the next man you see. Hussy!"
All the people there were chuckling their lungs off. "What are you all talking about?!" Marie confronted those nosey gals.
"This." One of them showed the latest news on the phone to the unfaithful wife. It was on the part when Leon mentioned her on live television, which every being on earth could watch.
"Oh, my God!" Marie gasped in horror, then bolted from there out of humiliation.
----
Meanwhile, in the Ebony Estates. Adrian happened to step out of his office, and that was when he noticed his employees were gathering together at one desk watching the news on his tablet. "What is going on here?" He scolded them. Those workers flinched and turned to him. "Shouldn't you all be working by now?"
"Sorry, sir," an employee with the tablet apologized and immediately hid it behind him, hoping that it would not get confiscated. "It won't happen again."
"And what is that?" Adrian grunted and snatched the device from the owner since he managed to catch him.
"No!"
"Something to hide?" The boss glanced at what the fuss was all about from the tablet, and it was the live news, and saw his rival's face on the thumbnail. "What is this?" He tapped the play button.
"Uhm... I wouldn't watch that?" the male employee stammered.
It was on the part where Leon talked about him doing despicable deeds. "No!" he cried. "This can't be happening." He could feel his demons crawling for him to pay his deadly debts, and then he looked at his employees as they gazed at him with fear and disgust. "This is fake news, you hear me? Now get back to work, or else you are all fired!"
Adrian slammed the tablet out of sheer rage even though that was not his.
