"what a beautiful wedding"

At thirty-two, I'm definitely not tearing up as my two best friends in the entire world meet each other's eyes from over an aisle decorated with rose petals.

I'm standing up with Jacob, right next to Annabelle, Jenna's older sister Penny, and her cousin Sandy.

I see Oscar and John sitting with Jacob's parents. They are definitely not crying, too.

I am proud to say that I helped plan this wedding. On the beach in June. The sun is just starting to tinge the horizon, and Jenna's dress is floating around her ankles. She looks like a goddess, with her brown eyes sparkling with happiness and small roses woven into her hair. She decided against shoes, and she leaves footprints in the soft sand behind her.

I heard the proposal story what I assume was fourteen seconds after it happened, as Jacob rang my phone and all of a sudden he was stumbling over his words, and then Jenna was there. The only things I could completely make out were "He said yes," and, truth be told, they were all I needed to hear. When it all calmed down, I forced them to give it to me, blow-by-blow.

Jacob's got the expression on his face, the one that never ceases to warm my heart from the inside out and back again. His smile lines are as deep as I've ever seen them, and it's lovely to see how visibly happy he is.

They are in love, and you can tell by the soft glances exchanged.

Okay, okay. I might be tearing up a little bit.
