'Someday' comes in the form of piles and piles of papers, countless trips to the adoption center and meetings with important people, and visits to IKEA.

It comes later, when the crisp autumn makes its way into the year, when right before going to sleep Annabelle rolled over in bed to face me with love in her eyes and proposed the idea.

It comes with us both getting hit with the realization one evening, when Annabelle turns to me, wide-eyed, and whispers "We're going to be mothers," and suddenly I found myself unable to stop crying.

I don't think I have ever loved Annabelle more than I did in that moment, and I would bet my limited edition signed copy of Fangirl that she would say the exact same about me, with the way her hands automatically find my hair as a source of comfort for us both.
