Ten
Stein

Bibiana looked at Stein with worry. She feared for him because in the time she's known him, he had became a father figure to her. The older man was like a third dad to her.

Stein trashed and turned in the bed. Bibiana immediately ran to his side when Cisco told them to hold Stein steady.

"He's dropping out," Caitlin informed the group.

"Come on, come on, come on, come one," Cisco said as he tried to get a device to work. It was supposed to help stabilize Stein.

"Cisco, we're losing him!" Caitlin told them in panic.

"Got it!" Cisco yelled. He quickly turned to the computer and typed quickly before turning back around to see Stein was stabilized. "Oh, Dios moo. Thank God."

Bibiana relaxed slightly. She knew that the device was temporary and that they needed to find Stein a permanent solution.

"He's getting worse," Barry started. Bibiana frowned as she looked at the sleeping man.

"Look, I did what I could to re-engineer Doctor Wells's original stabilizer to quell the reaction, but I don't know what he used as a power source. Best I could find was the one from his wheelchair."

"And how long will that last?" Caitlin asked.

"I hope long enough," Bibiana commented. She walked over to a chair and sat down. She buried her face in her hands. There was an unsettling feeling in her stomach. It was as if her worse nightmares were slowly coming true.

"Well, that's the problem, is we had already used up most of its energy trying to dampen the metas' powers," Cisco said. His voice faded causing Bibiana to realize that they were leaving the room. She got up and straightened herself out before following them. "During our little rogue air trip with Weather Wizard and company. I think we got a few days tops."

"And he's stuck in bed?" Barry asked.

"Yeah, when he wakes up, I'm gonna transfer the stabilizer to this," Cisco answered tapping a cane, "give him a power cane, get him moving."

"We gotta figure out a way to save him," Barry stated.

"I think I might know how to do that," Caitlin replied.

"Did you find the Manuel that explains all the metas powers?" Bibiana asked. "Because that would be real helpful."

"No."

"When the Particle Accelerator exploded, the dark matter that collided with Professor Stein fused with the Firestorm matrix and altered the normal molecules processes that occurs within his body," Caitlin explained.

Bibiana looked at the screen to see the area of the body that was hot.

"Those highly reactive molecules needed something to bond with in order to stabilize," Caitlin finished off.

"And that's where Ronnie came in," Cisco added.

"So who else can fill in?" Bibiana asked.

"Yes, and since Ronnie is no longer a part of Professor Stein—"

"Those molecules don't have anything to bond to," Barry finished off Caitlin's statement.

"And the longer he goes without merging, the more unstable he becomes," Caitlin said.

"All right, so, what do we do?" Cisco asked.

"Like Bibiana asked. Who else can fill in? We find another... participant," Caitlin answered.

"Okay, cool, so, how do we do that?" Cisco asked. "Are we just gonna make a Tinder app for potential meta-humans? 'Cause I'm pretty sure merging with Stein and randomly bursting into flames sounds like the biggest 'swipe left' of all times."

"Even if we could find someone willing, Stein can't just merge with whoever he wants," Barry added.

"It would have to be someone who's on the same level or close to that level," Bibiana commented.

"You're right. He can't, but I have done some research, and I found two potential candidates, that might be compatible with him" Caitlin announced. They followed her to the main computers to see the information on the two candidates. "They were both affected by the dark matter, and they were both admitted to the hospital showing symptoms of gene rearrangement mutation. And they both share the same blood type as Professor Stein and Ronnie."

Bibiana looked at the names. Henry Hewitt and Jefferson Jackson. She looked at their information and tried to see who would be a good match.

"I need more information on them," Bibiana stated. She sat down on one of the chairs and started to pull up information.

"All right," Barry said. "I mean, this is more than organ donation. We'll need more than tissues typing to see if their bodies are compatible."

"If I can isolate the genetic locus of the two candidates and cross-reference it with the mutation in Professor Stein, I might be able to find a match and save his life," Caitlin explained.

"What do you need to do that?" Barry asked. Bibiana looked at the screen and felt her vision going blurry.

Now was not the time for a hallucination. She closed her eyes and tried her best to stop it. But she couldn't. Quick flashes of memories came to her before they slowed down to vivid and details ways that people she cared about died.

She could feel the tears run down her cheek. Bibiana took a shaky break in and opened her eyes to see everyone was looking at her.

"Let's go talk to Jefferson Jackson."
