Chapter 17
"What did you say?" Kassidy finally managed to say after staring at him like a codfish for a few moments.
"I said I love you." Killian repeated and pulled her close, kissing her for the entire crew to see.
Kassidy pulled away from him.
"You..love me?" She asked.
"Well, yes love I quite fancy you from time to time when you're not yelling at me." Killian smirked.
"I.. need a moment." Kassidy said and ducked away from him and into the cabin.
"Kassidy, you absolute idiot, that's what you wanted why did you run?" She mumbled to herself as she paced back and forth in his cabin. Truthfully she expected him to just stand up there and tell them that he cared about her, but he loved her? She didn't see that coming at all. Truthfully, she loved him too. She had known this for a while so why did it scare the hell out of here now that she knew he felt the same?
The cabin door opened and closed and she turned. Killian was leaning against the door. Kassidy sighed.
"I'm sorry, that probably was not the reaction you were looking for." She mumbled.
"Well, no. Was..that not what you asked me to do?" Killian asked.
"Well. Yes. But I just didn't expect you to..say that." Kassidy replied.
"That I love you? Frankly love, I didn't expect it either but it just came out before I could stop it."
"Do..you wish you would have stopped it?" Kassidy asked.
"No. Do you wish I wouldn't have said it?" Killian asked.
"No." She replied softly. "I..feel the same. What you said, I feel it too." Kassidy said.
"You love me?" Killian asked with a smile.
"Yes. That." Kassidy nodded.
"Then why don't you just say it?" Killian asked.
"I did." Kassidy raised an eyebrow. "Just now, I said I felt the same."
"Aye, you said you felt the same. But the words, I love you, never left your lips."
"But it's what I meant." Kassidy shrugged. Killian chuckled.
"What? What is so funny?" Kassidy asked.
"I just find it hard to believe, that the lass who has been very vocal on her opinions and thoughts since the day she was brought onto the ship can not say three simple words."
"I can so!" Kassidy argued.
"So do it." Killian shrugged.
"This is foolish." Kassidy rolled her eyes and started walking past him but he pulled her away from the door.
"Oh no, you aren't running away from this one."
"Killian let me out." Kassidy demanded. Killian looked down at her fingertips that were sparking.
"Not until you say it. You just threw a bloody fit for me to get up there and tell my crew how I felt about you."
"I did not. I was angry because you thought their opinions meant more than me and then I left because I was angry and I ended up getting tortured! But I did not tell you to do that."
"But its what you wanted." Killian argued. "You wanted me to tell them I care, and you can't even tell me you love me when its just me and you." Killian pressed watching the sparks on her fingertips grow.
"You, are being an idiot." Kassidy grumbled. "Let me out." She said and tried to move past him again but he blocked her path.
"Say it." Killian said. Kassidy growled in frustration
"I love you! Okay?" Kassidy pushed him aside and pulled open the door to the cabin.
"I Love Killian Jones!" She shouted. Killian pulled her back inside of the cabin and shut the door.
"Happy?!" She demanded.
"I'll be much happier if you don't set fire to my ship love." Killian said. Kassidy looked down at her hands that were engulfed in flames. She smiled.
"Its back." She said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to make you angry but I saw your fingers sparking, and thought if I pressed it would do the trick."
Kassidy waved her hands and the fire went out.
"Thank you." She said softly "I'm..sorry I know you don't like me using magic on the ship.." She frowned.
"Its okay..now that its back are you going to heal your wound?" He asked.
Kassidy looked down at her arm and shook her head.
"No.. I think I'll keep it." She shrugged.
"I'm not sure that, that is a mark you want love.." Killian said.
"It means pirate right?" Kassidy asked.
"Aye." Killian nodded.
"Then I'll keep it." Kassidy decided
"You want to be a pirate?" Killian asked with a smile tugging at his lips.
"Aye?" She said with a smirk. "Sorry.. That sounds better when you say it." She giggled.
"What changed your mind?" Killian asked and brushed a curl out of her face.
"I made up my mind a long while ago that I didn't want to be a princess and somewhere along the way, I realized that all the stories I was told as a child..were wrong. I was taught to fear pirates, to see them as monsters but I was being raised by the true monsters." Kassidy frowned. "I can not give back what my father took from you. but I do hope that as you've shown me that pirates have more honor than royalty, I've shown you that not all those born to thrones are the same. You told me, a while back that you could teach me a great many things, and I am ready to learn."
"You choose to forsake your kingdom? The crown, your father?" Killian asked.
"I choose you, Killian."
Killian pressed her back against the door.
"Then it's a pirate's life for you, love." He smiled.
Kassidy held onto the lapels of his duster and pulled him down to her lips.
Killian ran his hand through Kassidy's curls as she laid against his chest, her finger traced patterns in his dark chest hair.
"What else can you do with your magic?" Killian asked.
"Well, theres the fire and the healing, which you've seen. I've made my own personal snow flurry, but that was when I was a child and I haven't done it sense. I didn't have a teacher so its not very controlled." Kassidy shrugged. "I can move things too." She said and waved her hand and suddenly his hook was hanging off her finger and she was smirking at him.
"Oh, that should be fun." He said and took his hook back.
"When did you realize you had these powers?" Killian asked.
"I was very young and as you can imagine, I was mischievous." Kassidy smiled.
"You? Never." Killian chuckled.
Kassidy cleared her throat.
"James, looked after me a lot, when my father was busy. It was a silly disagreement I wanted sweets, but James didn't want me to spoil my appetite, so naturally I took the sweets anyways and then I ran. He chased me and as soon as I made it to my room I went to slam the door, and I reached out to do so and that's all i did, I didn't touch the door or anything it just swung closed and slammed." Kassidy said. "Two people knew about my magic, James and Elliot. Not even my own father knew." Kassidy frowned.
"Why?" Killian asked.
"Because James told me never to tell him. So I didn't. I was the only one in the palace with magic. I don't know where it came from."
"Perhaps your mum?" Killian asked.
"I'll never know." Kassidy shrugged. "It doesn't matter really. I know there are others like me. I've heard of a queen with magic."
"Aye, believe me love you don't want to get tangled up with her."
"Oh.." Kassidy sighed. "I've also heard of someone who could teach me. He taught the queen his name is Rum-"
"Do not speak his name!" Killian hissed. Kassidy flinched.
"Sorry love.." Killian sighed. "You don't want to get involved with him either. Perhaps in Arendelle we can find someone to help you with your magic?" Killian asked.
"Arendelle? We are going to Arendelle?" Kassidy beamed.
"Aye." Killian smiled.
