Chapter 12

A/N: Double surprise. I guess I just needed a quick break from all the dark shit I've been writing. Enjoy some fluff!! <3 Sorry its short!

Kassidy leaned against the railing looking out at the water, the sea was calm and the sound of the waves slapping the side of the ship was nearly lulling her to sleep, she hadn't slept well in couple of weeks so she was pretty tired. Killian walked up and stood beside her.
"You spend a lot of time watching the water." He observed
"Well, its not like there is much else to watch." Kassidy said glancing sideways at him with a small smirk.
"Ah, ever the sassy princess." Killian replied. "Do you miss it?"
"Miss what?" Kassidy asked.
"Your kingdom."
"I miss certain parts of my kingdom," Kassidy sighed. "I miss the market, there was a shop that sold books, not the kind my father always had me reading, books about sailing, adventures on sea. Pirates." She grinned. "I've always liked the water. My father couldn't keep me out of it as a child, when I was 10 I snuck onto one of his Navy ships. The Captain, found me and instead of being angry, he let me help him sail the ship back to port." Kassidy laughed. "To my angry father of course." Kassidy looked back out at the water.
"The sea was always like a second home to me and now, its the only one I feel like I truly know." Kassidy said. Her eyes welled and a tear slipped down her cheek. She wiped it away.
"I'm sorry.." She mumbled.
"Its..alright." Killian said. Kassidy looked at him.
"You've changed Captain." She said. "What happened to you?"
"Well, recently I thought I'd lost something that I didn't realize I cared for until it was too late. Something I should have valued more, for good, and now that I have it back its put things into perspective." Killian explained. Kassidy raised an eyebrow.
"Really now?" She said.
"Aye. here it is." Killian smirked pulling out his spyglass. Kassidy scoffed and pushed his shoulder.
"Its okay Captain I won't tell your crew you care about me." She smirked and then looked up at the stars.
"They are beautiful tonight."
"Yes they are." Killian replied, but he wasn't looking at the stars. He was looking at the way they reflected in her eyes, and it was if she held the entire universe in her stormy gray orbs. Kassidy looked at him and bit her lip blushing a little bit, noticing him watching. No, this wasn't the right reaction she should still be mad at him. Killian cleared his throat.
"Here. get a better look." He said and passed her his spyglass. Kassidy extended the spyglass and looked out at the stars.
"Wow." She smiled and climbed up onto the first tear of the railing.
"What are you doing?" Killian asked.
"Getting an even closer look." Kassidy grinned and climbed up to the next step.
"Kassidy you're going to slip." Killian warned.
"I'll be fine." Kassidy insisted and climbed onto the top of the railing balancing herself looking at the stars with the spyglass.
"Kassidy. Get down." Killian ordered slipping into his Captain voice. Kassidy gasped and pointed.
"Killian! A falling star!" She said excitedly and bounced a little on the rail losing her footing, Thankfully falling backwards instead of forwards Killian reached out and caught her in his arms before she hit the deck. She held onto the spyglass and smiled innocently at him.
"Are you ever going to listen to a word I say?" Killian asked.
"No." Kassidy laughed.
"Didn't think so." Killian smirked. He looked at her. Leaning in. Kassidy swallowed hard and cleared her throat.
"Uh.. Killian." She mumbled.
"Yes?" Killian asked snapping out of it.
"You can put me down now." She replied.
"Oh. Right." Killian set her back down on the deck "You should turn in for the night. You look exhausted." he suggested. "I set up a space for you in my Cabin. Right by the window because I know you liked to look out it."
"Oh, Thank you." Kassidy said. "I guess, I'll turn in." She said and awkwardly walked away from him in disbelief that he had almost kissed her.

When Killian turned in for the night, Kassidy was still awake watching out the window she had tried to sleep, but had gotten used to sleeping in a bed with someone, so she only tossed and turned.
"I figured you'd be asleep by now." Killian said as he removed his coat and vest.
Kassidy just shrugged.
"Are you alright?" Killian asked.
"Yeah. I..just." She sighed. "I want to forgive you for what you did before I left. I can see you've changed, but I'm scared." She said.
"Kassidy I swear to you that I will never do that to you again. There isn't a day that has gone by that I haven't felt horrible for what I did."
"I know I can see that." Kassidy replied. "Perhaps.. We can talk more in the morning about where we stand?"
"Of course. Honestly Kassidy get some rest, when is the last time you slept?"
"Decently? A few weeks ago."
"Is there anything that would help you rest?" Killian asked.
"Maybe..no.it's foolish." Kassidy sighed.
"What is it?" Killian asked.
"When I was on blackbeards ship I..slept in his bed with him." Kassidy confessed. Killian raised an eyebrow
"Not like that. We just slept, of course the entire crew thought otherwise.
Killian smirked. "And he said I have a soft side."
"Moving on." Kassidy sighed. "I got used to sleeping with someone."
"If you wanted to share my bed you just had to ask." Killian winked. Kassidy put her hands on her hips.
Killian put his arms up. "I wont touch you. Whatever helps you sleep."
Kassidy smiled and strolled over to the bed and crawled in.
"Thats my side." Killian said.
"Killian its a small bed, there is no sides." She laughed.
"But I sleep more on that side."
"You said whatever helped me sleep." Kassidy pouted.
"So it begins." Killian sighed and pulled his shirt and pants off so he was in his underwear. I seem to remember you generating the heat of two suns."
"Blackbeard said it was like three." Kassidy smiled.
"Rule number one, Do not say that mans name in my bed." Killian said and crawled in next to her, his efforts to try and put as much space between them as possible were pointless as she seemed to curl into him. She rolled over so she was facing him
"Fair enough. I'll only say your name." Kassidy shrugged. Killian just smirked. Kassidy's face flushed.
"No! I didn't.. I mean.."
"Goodnight Princess" Killian chuckled.
"Goodnight pirate" Kassidy yawned.
