Of all the sticky situations Kassidy had found herself in, this one had to have been the worst. She should have heeded her fathers warnings and stayed clear of the Tavern that night. However she had grown restless staring at the palace walls all day and night and was up for some adventure. She figured that nothing could top her last adventure where she nearly became Orge chow (and would have if her fathers men hadn't found her in time) So going out to a Tavern seemed rather simple.

"The Pirates are out tonight Princess." She was warned. "And they are likely drunk and will pay no mind to me." She had said with an eye roll which was not uncommon from her much to her father's distaste. However at that particular moment she didn't realize that those words would come back to bite her.
She made her small journey to the Tavern, according to her father it was a horrible place for a princess to be but Kassidy was not an average singing princess you encounter in fairy tales. She was mouthy, and reckless at times and always seeking adventure and if she wasn't forced to wear these dresses day after day, she wouldn't. She did things her way and only her way.

Once outside the Tavern walls, she slipped off her Tiara encrusted with amethyst stones, and diamonds and put it in her satchel because nothing said, hey please kidnap me like a giant flashy tiara on top of her head. A lot of the towns people recognized her just by her golden curls but she figured If there were pirates here they would be too drunk to tell the difference. Kassidy opened the door to the Tavern and stepped in, The pirates were definitely here and they were loud and disorderly. Kassidy made her way to her normal spot and took her seat. Her friend, who worked in the Tavern made his way over to the table.
"Princess you chose the worst of times to visit tonight." The auburn haired green eyed boy said as he slid into the seat next to her. Kassidy sighed.
"Elliot, really how many times have I told you, you don't have to address me as Princess, its just Kassidy." She smiled.
"Seemingly about the number of times your fathers men have pushed my face into the dirt for only addressing you as Kassidy." Elliot replied.
"I will have a word with my father, and his men." Kassidy assured him.
"Either way, I must insist you go home. Those aren't just any pirates. That is Captain Hook and his crew." Kassidy quirked an eyebrow.
"The Captain Hook has graced us with his presence?" She said and snorted.
"Surely they will not know who I am."
"Kassidy, everyone knows who you are. You can dress down however you'd like and leave the jewels at home but everyone knows you and those men will know a princess when they see one. Please, go home."
"Elliot, I'm not going home no matter how many ways you try and tell me. I'm not afraid of any pirate, not even the infamous Captain Hook."
"Then you are either the bravest, or most foolish soul I know." Elliot replied. "Beer, then?" He asked.
"Please." Kassidy smiled and reached into her Satchel for a book as Elliot walked off. He returned shortly with her beer.
"I know you love your adventures but please do be careful Kassidy. The pirate Captain has had his eyes on you since you walked in." Elliot said leaving Kassidy to make her first mistake of many that night. She looked up from her book, her cool grey eyes making contact with the icy blue gaze of the pirates.
"I have to get back to work, heed my warning. Have your drink, go home." Elliot said and sighed heavily knowing it didn't make a damn bit of difference, Kassidy did what Kassidy wanted to do and nothing else. He hesitantly walked away leaving his good friend of many years to the unknown.

Killian Jones, or as most preferred to call him Captain Hook wouldn't have considered himself to be lucky, that is until she walked in and sat herself just feet away from him. It sure saved him a lot trouble when the very reason for his arrival had quite literally brought herself to him. He was certain that she thought he had no idea who she was, but he knew and he would play along for now. He watched her sitting to herself, reading and drinking, for a princess she could certainly hold her drink and that should have been his first clue that he was not dealing with an ordinary princess. He stood from his seat and made his way to the princess. The boy she had previously been talking to began to make his way towards her as well in a rather protective manner however Hook gave him a certain look that suggested he had better stay put, or meet certain death. The boy was no fool he went back to his work but watched on cautiously.

Kassidy was really getting into her book, and her drink she was on her third beer by now and was oblivious to her surroundings, not even noticing that someone had suddenly seated themselves in front of her until the silver tip of a hook was rested onto the fold of her book lowering it from her face. That icy blue gaze from earlier in the night just inches from her now. She sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Do you mind Pirate?" She asked. "I was enjoying my book without your company." The pirate captain looked a bit surprised by her tone and she saw the muscle in his jaw twitch.
"You've picked a very poor spot to read, love." He said.
"I always read here, Thank you, and do not call me love." Kassidy said narrowing her eyes. She could smell the rum on his breath from clear across the table, yet he seemed mostly unfazed by it. He raised his hand gesturing Elliot forward. Elliot hesitantly walked to the table.
"Yes, Captain?" he asked. "A stein of rum, for me and one for the lass as well." Hook said. Elliot looked at Kassidy unsure, Kassidy just gave him a quick nod and Elliot walked off. Kassidy sighed and closed her book and set it to the side figuring the Captain was not leaving her alone any time soon.
"What brings you to my table?" Kassidy asked. "Last I checked you were happily seated with a Wench on each side."
"Oh, so you've been watching me?" The Captain quipped with his eyebrow raised.
"Not hardly." Kassidy scoffed. Elliot returned with the rum. He put his hand on Kassidy's shoulder and gave her a look. He knew her father would not be pleased that she was not only in the Tavern, but drinking with a Pirate and he thought briefly of alerting his men and getting Kassidy the hell out of here, but he did not want to lose Kassidy's trust. He just had to trust that Kassidy would be smart enough not to do anything too foolish.
"Don't you have work to be doing lad?" Hook asked.
"Yes. my apologies. Enjoy." Elliot said and walked away.
"The boy seems rather concerned with my presence." Hook smirked.
"Should he be Pirate?" Kassidy asked and sipped at the drink in the Stein. Scrunching her face at the taste and gasping at the burn as it went down her throat.
"First rum?" Hook asked with a deep chuckle. "If you can't handle it, I can request some water for you." Kassidy quirked an eyebrow at his blatant challenge and she was never one to turn down a challenge. What she didn't know was this is exactly what the Captain had counted on. She brought the stein back to her lips and tipped it back drinking until it was gone. She slammed the stein down on the table.
"You were saying?" She said followed by a burning hiccup that she was sure would produce dragon fire based on the slow burn that settled in her chest.
"Color me impressed." Hook grinned. "I don't believe I've actually introduced myself." He said. Kassidy raised her hand to stop him.
"No need for pleasantries. I know who you are, Hook" She mumbled. Her shoulders were tingling and her head was a little cloudy. Up until this night she had stuck to beer, Rum was entirely new to her and she did not have quite the same tolerance for it.
"Ah, so you've heard of me." Hook said in an amused tone.
"How many other pirates walk around with a hook for a hand?" Kassidy asked.
"Fair point." He smiled. "You don't look well." He chuckled.
"I'm fine. In fact, I could use another drink. Are you buying Captain?" She asked.
"But of course." He grinned and whistled at Elliot. Elliot walked back over to the table. "More rum for the lass." Hook said.
"Is that what the lass wants?" Elliot asked giving Hook an accusatory glare. Hook cocked his head to the side glaring at the boy.
"Just do it Elliot." Kassidy said and pat her friend on the shoulder smiling at him.
"You are already squiffy Kass. Perhaps it's not for the best." Elliot whispered. Kassidy narrowed her eyes at him. Elliot knew this look, he often referred to it as the bratty princess glare. He sighed.
"Fine." He said and walked away again.

If Hook's plan was going to go off without a hitch, he would have to have someone distract the boy when the time came. When Elliot returned with the rum he set it down in front of Kassidy. "Is something wrong with your drink Captain? You haven't touched it." He said, hoping to clue Kassidy in to the pirates obvious plans to get her drunk. The boy was too smart for his own good.
"Elliot! Back to work!"
Someone hollered and Elliot hurried off. Hook's luck was not running out yet. Kassidy tipped the Rum back just like she had the first one and smiled at the Captain.
 "I'm winning." She slurred.
"Oh, so it's a game now?" Hook asked.
It was one he was definitely winning, in her defense, he wasn't actually playing.

Kassidy was practically laying over the table at this point. Hook was going to have to make his move. He waved a member of his crew over.
"Yes Captain?"
"Distract the boy." Hook said simply and pointed towards Elliot.
"I think you need some fresh air love." Hook smirked.
"I said don't call me love." Kassidy mumbled as Hook stood up and helped her from her seat making sure the boy was not looking before giving the rest of his crew a nod to follow him as he dragged the drunken princess from the Tavern. The Chill in the air hitting Kassidy in the face woke her up but only a little.
"What's happening?" She asked as she felt herself being pulled.
"You're being kidnapped Princess." The pirate Captain said his friendly tone being replaced by something more sinister.
"What?.. No.. I have to go home." Kassidy said and used whatever strength she could muster to fight against him.
"I'm afraid that's not going to happen." Hook snickered. Kassidy's eyes fluttered open and she could see Elliot running out of the Tavern.
"Elliot!" She screamed.
"Quiet you!" Hook hissed before he looked to one of his crew. "Kill the boy."
"Aye Captain." The man said and drew his sword running towards Elliot
"No.. No no!" Kassidy cried. "Elliot!" She screamed again.
"Kass!" Elliot yelled. Kassidy struggled against Hook's grasp Tears streaming down her cheeks as she watched the pirate run Elliot through with his sword. "NO!" She sobbed as Elliot dropped to his knees. She leaned down and bit into Hooks hand.
"AH!" Hook yelled and released her.
Kassidy staggered towards her fallen friend. "Elliot." She cried softly crawling across the ground to him. He was breathing slow shallow breaths and his face had lost its color. She ran her hands through his auburn hair sobbing.
"This is my fault. I'm so sorry." She cried.
"No... Not your..fault." He choked on his own blood making a sickening gurgling sound as he spoke.
"Shhh." She said running her hand over his face.
"R..Run." Elliot sputtered out.
"No.. I can heal you." Kassidy said placing a glowing palm over his wound.
"No.. they can't know... about your...magic. Run." Kassidy shook her head.
"I won't leave you." She said and pressed her lips to his cold forehead.
"You have to. He's coming." Elliot said. Kassidy looked over her shoulder at the enraged pirate captain marching towards her.
"He can take me. I won't leave you. Not until the last breath leaves your lips." She promised. "That stunt will Cost you princess." Hook boomed as he closed in on her.
"I....love.." Elliot couldn't even finish his sentence before taking his last breath.
"Elliot..." She said trying to bite back a sob. She felt a sharp throbbing pain in her head as the curve of the Captains hook connected with the back of her head. Her vision blurred and she felt herself being lifted away from Elliot's lifeless body before everything went black.
