Chapter 17
He punched the tree angrily, letting out the frustration and pain he was feeling push each punch until he'd obliterated the entire tree, leaving only leaves that wouldn't dissolve as he turned away in frustration. He reached for a picture, smiling at the silly face he and Grian had been pulling, blotting out the 3rd figure with his thumb.
One day he would come for him.
It was a thought he kept repeating, keeping him sane and giving him hope that one day he wouldn't be alone. One day they would pay, and they would finally get their happy ending they'd been wanting since High School.
He just wanted his friend back.
He shoved his headphones back over his ears, hoping the music would blot out the emotional turmoil he was feeling as he walked back into his house.
"I'm sorry Grian," he whispered, staring at the picture.
"It's not your fault," he said, as if Grian was actually able to hear him. "Don't believe for one second that it's your fault."
He stared angrily at the bedrock sign, waiting for a few seconds before walking away, starting the music again as he stared at the sunset, still hoping one day Grian would come back for him.
One day.
He just hoped that day would be soon.
