Chapter 13

Grian had got 14 parrots.

Xisuma said it was overkill.

Grian said you could never have too many parrots.

Xisuma muttered something about pesky birds.

Grian renamed the parrots to Pesky Bird.

Grian smiled as he slotted the music disk into the jukebox, laughing as he saw the parrots dancing in unison, moving side to side as he pulled it out, waiting a few seconds before putting it back in, creasing with laughter as they began dancing, starting to dance after a few seconds, smiling as the music continued playing. Eventually the disk popped out as the song ended, and Grian could've sworn the parrots were disappointed, but he smile as he put the music disk back in.

It had been a few months since the last chapter, and he, Mumbo and Iskall were planning on making a business together called Sahara, where they were planning on selling lots of sand. Grian didn't understand any of the Redstone, but Mumbo and Iskall needed him to build the main buildings and stuff, which he was happy to do.

He was in a random meeting room he'd quickly constructed, behind a layer of glass there where he was keeping the parrots. He'd scheduled a meeting with Iskall and Mumbo, but naturally he'd forgotten about that with the distraction of parrots, so when Iskall walked in, Grian didn't notice until the song ended and Iskall coughed.

He froze, looking up and forcing a smile, inwardly worried Iskall was going to think he was weirder than he already did.

"How long have you been watching?" Grian asked nervously, wrangling his fingers, taking a deep breath as he waited for his answer.

"Only a few minutes," Iskall said, stepping back. "Sorry, should I not have interrupted?"

"No, it's not your fault, I forgot about it. Besides, it's not a big deal, I'm just a horrible dancer and you shouldn't have had to watch it." Grian forced a laugh, and surprisingly it sounded genuine.

"Can I join in?" Iskall asked, stepping into the room hesitantly as Grian nodded, slotting a different disk in as the music started. Grian slowly started tapping his foot to the beat as Iskall did the same, with slightly more energy. By the time the song finished the first time, Iskall stopped before putting it back in.

"What's wrong? You seem way more nervous than you did before."

"I dunno, I guess I'm just not as confident with dancing while someone's watching as I used to be..." Grian admitted, biting his lip.

"What if we do it together- I mean, as in what if we do the dance together- As in, you know what that sounds like I mean it in completely the wrong way but you know what I mean," Iskall said, flushing slightly. (THIS IS NOT SHIPPING OK). Grian laughed, smiling at how Iskall tripped over his words.

"Yeah, I get you. And, that would be... That would be nice," Grian admitted, avoiding Iskall's eyes. Iskall smiled, slipping the music disk in as the tune began to play for the umpteenth time, and by the time the song ended Grian was dancing along like he was before. Iskall laughed as he saw the parrots dancing, and Grian smiled, stopping and stroking one of the parrots.

Suddenly Mumbo coughed from behind them, raising his eyebrows and repressing laughs.

"Am I interrupting something?" he asked, and both Iskall and Grian simultaneously shook their heads, as Grian took the disk out and closed up the area, sitting down in his noticeably larger chair, leaning back and explaining his idea.

Grian had certainly started to settle in.
