Naira knew eavesdropping is wrong, but she couldn't help after overhearing their conversation. As she found out about the subject matter, she felt suffocated and cheated at the same time. Without getting in anyone's notice, she quickly walked to join the gathering. Naira already felt so sick and this new piece of information had completely shattered her.

She saw an empty couch nearby. Gathering some strength, she walked straight to the couch. But before she could sit there, her head started to spin. When Naira couldn't take it anymore, she fell over the couch and went unconscious.

Even though Kartik was talking to Naksh, his eyes had been looking for her ever since she had disappeared out of his sight. Finally when he spotted her again, he kept a tab on her each and every movement very closely. He did realize something was amiss. Still maintained a safe distance from her because the guests and their family members were around. It wasn't the right time to act. Any step taken by him would have raised many questions and he wasn't willing to answer any of them. Kartik thought to wait patiently until then.

Soon after he saw her falling over the couch and becoming unconscious. He made a run for her while disregarding everything else. In seconds, Kartik came beside Naira and was patting her cheeks to get a response from her. Then he rubbed her hands, but had no luck either. When he failed with all his methods, he frantically started calling out her name.

By now everyone gathered around them to see an overly panicked Kartik. Singhanias and Goenkas were dumbfounded with his behavior. Before anyone could say something or do anything, he gathered Naira in his arms and started running towards the nearby empty room. The only thing he uttered while running was "Naksh call the doctor immediately!" His voice was filled with desperation, and it came out as more of a command than a request.

Singhanias and Goenkas were gathered in the room, where Kartik had taken Naira and laid her down on the bed. Except him and Naksh, male members of both the families left the room to attend the guests outside. Though Naitik didn't have the heart to leave his princess behind, Manish persuaded him into it.

While Akshara was sitting on one side of the bed, Kartik was sitting on the other side. Since the time he had brought her in the room, he didn't leave her hand even for once. Only when the doctor (Dr. Khanna) had arrived for the checkup, he got up to make some space for her.

Dr. Khanna was Singhanias' family doctor. She was surprised earlier when Naksh had called her to come to the Goenka Villa. After finding so many people crowding the room, she asked them to leave, as it wasn't good for the patient. Everyone except Akshara, Swarna, Dadi, and Bua Dadi made an exit from the room.

On the other hand, Kartik didn't want to leave the room. He gave up only when the doctor said, "it will only delay in Naira's treatment". He unwillingly came out, but left the door open.

Every member of the family was shocked and confused with Kartik's behavior. Regardless, they held on to their questions for the time being. Naira and her health were their priority now. They decided to handle the matter at a later time.

Naksh was constantly staring at an impatient Kartik. He was pacing back and forth, while kept peeping through the door to see if the doctor was done yet. Tension was clearly visible on his face. He kept ruffling his hair in frustration, and muttering something under his breath every now and then.

His wait was over when Dr. Khanna was done with the checkup. Kartik ran inside the room followed by Naksh and others. He listened with bated breath as the doctor said, "She is fine. There is nothing serious to worry about. It happens in such condition. But please take extra care. She is really stressed and it is affecting her health. In her condition, it isn't good. You should always keep her happy and out of all worries."

Everyone looked at the doctor with questioning eyes. Kartik was ready to fire all kind of questions at the doctor, when Akshara inquired, "Which condition are you talking about Dr. Khanna? Meri beti theek toh hai na?"

Dr. Khanna spoke with a smile "Oh! Don't worry Mrs. Singhania! It's a good news. She is pregnant!" As soon as she broke the news, the color from everyone's face was drained out. The glass of water that Dadi had offered to Bua Dadi a while ago, it slipped from her hand. The sound of shattered glass made them realize, it was not a dream. As the new revelation sank in, some were shocked and some looked extremely worried.

However, Kartik's reaction spoke of a complete different tale. His facial expression changed each second. It gave away so many emotions that it would be hard to comprehend his inner feelings. He was shocked, confused, nervous, excited....all at the same time.

Finding out about her pregnancy, he felt numb at first. His heart was racing so fast that he didn't know how to control the sudden excitement. He could almost hear the repeated thumping sound loud and clear. Without blinking, Kartik kept staring at her sleeping figure. He was overtaken by emotion and lost in a different world.

Finally when the realization hit him, his lips were about to break into a soft smile, but what the doctor said next gave him the real shock. Dr. Khanna stood up facing Akshara "I am surprised that you don't know. I told Naira to be careful, as stress isn't good for her health and the baby. Wo ayi thi mujhse milne, Canada se wapas aneki ek din baad hi. Usse toh pata tha! That's why she took an appointment for regular checkup."

Immediately Kartik's hand curled into a fist and his lips pursed into a thin line. The smile that was about form in his lips, it was taken over by his rage. He looked at her sleeping form with blazing eyes.

"Your daughter seemed depressed. She needs good care. Please see to it." saying Dr. Khanna walked out of the room. Kartik remained rooted to the spot, as if he unheard everything post her earlier revelation.

Naitik, who was really worried for his Princess, stopped the doctor midway to inquire about Naira's condition. Dr. Khanna wasn't aware of Naira's martial status. So she announced the good news in front of the guests and left the house leaving everyone shock once again.

In the room, both Singhanias and Goenkas were still shocked. Just like others, Kartik was shocked too, but for a complete different reason. Something just turned him off really bad and started a surge of storm inside him. Sparing her one last look, he walked out of the room in anger.
