Chapter One: Questioning

No Nights at Team Crafted's

Chapter One:

Questioning

-...-

It was Monday Night on the third week, and Tyler and Mike were sitting around the tables in the SkyHub cafeteria, Sky and Mitch were also in the room, over by the doors, and Ty was just walking out of the kitchen to find the two humans laughing around. The two ran out of things to goof off about in the other parts of the park, so were now using their flashlights to make shadow puppets on the large wall of the room. They were being immature, but that wasn't very surprising. It was about 2 Am when the two began getting bored. But then Tyler cracked a rather childish idea.

“Let's play hide and seek!” Tyler grinned.

Mike sighed at the idea, but then nodded his head. “Alright then!”

The two split up, deciding they were allowed to hide in any place in the park, making the game hardcore. Tyler was to hide this time, Mike giving him 2 minutes to do so. Tyler shot off to Jerome's playground, passing Jerome who stood by the equipment.

“Hey, Jerome!” Tyler yelled as he went by.

Tyler made his way to the employee only section of Jerome's park, going behind a gate and into the fake woods. Then he came to a tree house, one he had last visited on his fifth night. Climbing up the latter, he found himself in that same small square room. There was no writing on the walls. Everything looked fine. Tyler then sat down in a lawn chair next to some of the electricity boxes and waited. He had his phone in his pocket, and knowing it might take a while, pulled it out and started to play a game.

Tyler waited there for awhile indeed. The wind from outside blew against one of the windows, the room feeling a bit colder then before. An hour had soon passed, and Tyler decided that maybe that was too much time. He had won the game, being able to hide like a pro, it seemed. Like, Mike could have gotten help from the animatronics. Jerome knew were he was. Tyler shoved his phone in his pocket and climbed back down the latter, walking out of Jerome's playgrounds.

Tyler noticed that Jerome had been standing in the place he would be if it were day time, and when he walked passed Ian and Husky's parks, he could see them were they were supposed to be as well. This was very odd, and Tyler didn't get a good feeling from this at all. Something was wrong, but what? Tyler began to walk faster, towards SkyHub. But then, halfway there, his eyes caught a reflection off some of buildings. There were lights, but not lights from the park. They flashed red and blue and white. They were from a cop car.

Tyler's heart beat fast, unsure of what was going on. Possible reasons ran through his mind, and when he walked out of the front gates, which were wide opened, he saw cop cars all over the parking lot. There were about 4 of them, but still. Some of the cops that were standing outside turned to see him, and then began to walk towards him.

“See, I told you there was another one!” One said back to another. “Call the others back. There is no need to look anymore.”

“W-W-what?” Tyler asked, looking up at the man who was taller then him.

Two cops walked up to him, one holding out his hand, but not to shake. They wanted Tyler's bag. Tyler gave it to them. One motioned him towards one of the cars.

“What's going on?” Tyler asked the cop.

“You and your co-worker are going to be taken to the police station for questioning.” The cop said.

“D-did we do something, officer?” Tyler asked.

“No, we just need you to answer a few things. Then you two can get back to your lives.” The cop answered.

“W-What is this about?” Tyler asked.

“You'll find out, kid.”

Tyler was put into the back of a cop car, one that Mike was not in. He saw as a few more cops exited the park, closing the front gate behind them. Then they got into their own cop cars and drove off. Tyler wasn't going to lie. He was sorta scared. He'd never been in this position before. He wasn't the kind to ever get into the back of a cop car. He wasn't the type to commit a crime. And though he was told it was only questioning, as I said, he was freaked out.

-....-

Tyler and Mike were taken into the local police station, Tyler noticing that Mike was actually hand cuffed. That idiot was probably spooked and fought back. But then again, he didn't really look like the friendliest of people. They got inside, the air cold inside the building. They were taken into a room and down a hallway, only to find there were a few chairs outside of a door with a window next to it, were you could see into the room. An officer stood by the window, and in the chairs were other people. Tyler knew Aviator was one of the, and there was the lady that gave him all the tickets from the first week. The cops made Tyler and Mike sit down, and then stood over by the windows.

“What's going on?!” Tyler whispered at Aviator, Mike leaning over to listen. The other woman also turned to them.

“Calm down.” Aviator sighed. “It's about the park. They want to know a few things. Of course, this is how they'll get it.”

“Why the park?” Mike asked.

“Yeah, didn't you say Team Crafted Co. keeps their secrets safe?” Tyler asked, and Mike and the woman were confused.

“Never mind that, Tyler. I'm sure it's nothing. This happened before, a few years ago. It'll be over soon.” Aviator said.

The four then sat in quiet for what seemed like forever. There was a clock in the other room, which Tyler could just hardly see through the window. At one point, one person came out, and then the woman was taken in. She didn't stay that long, and the Aviator went. He, however, took forever. Tyler was sure he had been in there for over an hour, and by then, Mike was fast asleep, snoring really loudly in the chair. When Aviator came out, he was quiet, and Tyler realized something was wrong. Aviator left without a word, and Tyler was pushed inside the questioning room.

The door closed and Tyler sat down in an old wooden chair, across from a man, whom wasn't dressed in police uniforms, was clearly worked for them. Tyler gulped as for the first few minutes, the man spent time moving around paperwork on his side of the desk. Then, he cleared his throat, and looked up at Tyler.

“Do you know why you are here?” The man asked.

“N-no sir.” Tyler said, his voice a bit high pitched.

“Well.” The man sighed, leaning back in his chair. “Team Crafted's Theme Park is due to be closed tomorrow. And for the week. And for, well, forever.”

Tyler's eyes widen. “What!?”

The man looked like he had already said this story before. He probably had.

“You see, That park has had some history with us, and we only know are in a position to act on it. It will be closed and shut down within the week. Now, I really can't go into much detail here, but we want to ask you a few questions about your time working there.”

Tyler hesitated, but then nodded his head sure.

“Alright. Thank you.” The man said, coughed a bit, and then continued. “How long have you been working at the Theme Park?”

“2 Weeks.”

“What is your job exactly, and how did you get the job?”

“I work as a night guard. I keep check on the power, which glitches from time to time. I got the job from a news paper ad.”

The man leaned in on the table.

“Tell me, do you like working there?”

Tyler paused. “W-Well, yeah. I mean, I like it there.”

“You haven’t noticed anything odd, have you?”

“N-no.” Tyler could pull off a lie, the actor he was.

“You've never noticed anything out of place or strange?”

“Maybe, but I honestly can't remember for the life of me right now.” Tyler replied.

The man let out a deep sigh and then leaned back, writing a few things down on a pad of paper.

“Well, if you remember, be sure to call.” He said. “Anyway, what is your relationship with Mr. Aviator and the rest of your co-workers?”

“Mr. Aviator and Mike Schmidt could be considered friends. I've never really talked with anyone else who works there.”

“Hmmm” The man went on with the questions. “Well, does the name Bashur Green ring a bell? Did you know him? Or any other past workers?”

“I knew Bashur, yes. Only for a few days though.”

“I assume you know he passed away.”

“I do.”

“Do you know what from?”

Tyler looked down at his shoes, kicking his legs around a bit to show a bit of emotion. “Clara won't tell. It's none of my business anyway.”

“Who is Clara?”

“Clara was his girlfriend.” Tyler answered.

“Alright then.” The man wrote a few more things down and then coughed more. After a pause, the man looked back up to Tyler. “There will be no need to return to work tomorrow. I would ask you to maybe find another job, if you have bills to pay or things like that. Thank you for your time.”

Tyler slowly got back up, feeling odd. He was in there for less then 10 minutes, and when he walked out the door, he saw one of the officers waking up Mike. Tyler left the building, once getting outside, the cold air hitting his face. He looked around, his mind still a bit slow on the events that just happened. Tyler decided to go home, but then realized his car was still at Team Crafted's parking lot. He hissed under his breath, about to turn back inside to ask for a ride to at least to call his mom, but then noticed a lone car to the side of the parking lot. It was Aviator's car, and he was sitting in it, waiting.

Tyler walked up to the car, getting Aviator to roll down the window.

“What the fuck was that!?” Tyler barked. “I just fixed the goddam place!”

Aviator yawned, then unlocked the back car doors. “I don't want to talk about it. Just get in. I'll take you home.”

Tyler got inside the car and Aviator drove the boy home. He realized only halfway through that the police still had his bag. But he'd get that back tomorrow. At least his phone was still in his pocket.

-...-

Tyler walked inside, the time being 5 AM. To his surprise, his mother and father were in the living room, his mother holding a phone to her ear. His father sighed and looked up to him.

“You're home early.” His father said in a hushed voice.

“Yeah, well, never mind that.” Tyler sighed. “What's going on?”

His mother then hung up the phone and walked over to Tyler, placing his phone in her pocket.

“Your Aunt's plane just touched down. Could you please come with me to the airport to pick her and her things up?” She asked, her eyes almost begging him to do so.

“I need to leave in a few hours for work, so I need this time to sleep.” His father sighed.

Tyler looked back to his mother.

“Please, Tyler? For me?”

Tyler yawned, frowning.

“I'll make sure Janet leaves you alone so you can stay in your room as long as you want too. I'll even take her out downtown for the day. She'll fall asleep on the couch the moment she gets here anyway.”

His mother's offerings weren’t that great, but she really needed him, and so Tyler really had no choice but to do as she asked.

“Fine.”

“Thank you so much.” His mother let out a sight of relief.

The night was almost over, and yet he felt like it was only just beginning. The next hour was going to be the longest, that's for sure.
