Chapter Four:

Kidnapped

-...-

Tyler woke up at noon that day, eating lunch with his family and then getting notification that his phone was locked by the company he used. He had to explain to his parents that his things were stolen and that Aviator was looking into it. He didn't mention at all that the police had hung up on him. In fact, he made everything sound alright so that they wouldn't be worried as much as they could be. Janet made fun of him every once in a while, and Tyler retreated back to his room to talk to his friends on Skype. He talked to Kyle and Shelby, and told them more about why his phone was locked, since he had forgotten details in his message last night. He even messaged Mike, who said he'd pick him up for work in the morning.

Tyler and his family went downtown for dinner that night, and when they got home, Tyler went to sleep, having to set an actual alarm to wake him up and not his phone's alarm. He woke up an hour early, getting ready and having something to eat. Him walking around the house forced Janet awake, and she sat there watching TV and insulting Tyler whenever he walked by. Once he was finished, he sat down in the living room, waiting for Mike, watching whatever program Janet forced him to watch, since she had the remote.

After awhile, though, Mike had not come, and the home phone rang. Janet, complaining about the noise, wouldn't answer it, so Tyler did.

“Hello?” Tyler asked.

“Hey, dude, I'm going to be running late. If you wanna meet Aviator at the park in time, then I suggest getting someone else to take you.” Mike said from the other side.

Tyler groaned. “Ugh.”

“Sorry! My alarm didn't go off. See you soon!”

Mike hung up and Tyler put the phone back. He walked back to see Janet sitting there, watching TV. He looked at the time. He was going to be late if he waited anymore. Not like that was a big deal, but still. Mike could take a few minutes, he could take an hour. So Tyler was forced to do something he didn't want to.

“Hey. You think you could drive me to work?” Tyler asked.

Janet stared at him for a bit.

“Only if ya pay me, baby.”

Tyler rolled his eyes.

“I don't have any money right now. It got stolen, remember?”

“Pay me later, baby. I'll be here all week, sweetheart.” Janet leaned back on the couch.

“Ugh. Can you just drive me there already? We'll talk about payment later.” Tyler said, walking over to the door.

“Fine.”

Thus created the longest more horrible car ride Tyler had ever experienced.

-...-

Janet dropped Tyler off at work after taking forever to get there and taking wrong turns in the process. She left, either off to her own thing or back home. Tyler found Aviator waiting out front, and like all the other nights, he nodded to him.

“Mike is running late.” Tyler sighed. “My aunt had to drop me off.”

“Still glad you could come back.” Aviator said. “I'm working on finding out who stole your things. I've got some of the camera footage to check.”

“Please don't take your time.” Tyler replied.

“Hurry off inside, kid.” Aviator rolled his eyes. “It could get worse. Use the office phone to call me if anything else happens.”

“Whatever.”

The two walked off, Aviator to his car, and Tyler inside the park. Tyler at least had his flashlight, and was able to walk around the park with just that. He stayed near the front gate, though, waiting for Mike to arrive. At one point, he walked over to the benches by the fountain and sat down, pointing his light at the water and watching the light sparkle off of it. It was mesmerizing.

Voices.

Tyler began to hear voices after awhile. They were distant, and they were talking to each other. But these were not ghostly voices like before. They were real voices. And they didn't sound like Mike at all. Tyler shot up, hearing something from behind him and turning around to see a man, tall and in dark clothes. Tyler's eyes widen when he saw the man was holding up a taser. Within seconds, the taser was shot at him, and a zap was heard. Tyler experienced a burning pain before he fell unconscious.

His body struggled to react, trying to regain conscious and failing many times. There was alsways the distant sound of talking, as well as a few other things. After an unknown about of time, Tyler's consciousness came back for a few seconds, only for him to realize he was in the back of a cargo truck. It was moving. There was a small light coming from the doors, were were sort of broken and held together by chains. Still and tons of pain, he looked around to see he wasn't alone. Strapped so they stood up, the animatronics where there too. Tyler noticed a blue flicker of electricity come from one, and know that they had been shorted out. But that was all Tyler could take notice of before he fell back into unconsciousness.

-....-

Mike pulled into the park, finally there after being 30 minutes late. He got out and made his way to the front gate, pulling out his flashlight in order to see. He walked into the park, the wind blowing a slight breeze. Looking around, he expected to find Tyler waiting for him, but didn't. In fact, it was very quiet. Mike looked around, in the office, in the cafeteria, by the fountain. Lost and found, the fun house, and all the other parts of the park. He stopped halfway when he realized another terrible fact.

All of the animations were gone as well.

Mike pulled out his phone as he ran back across the park to the front gates. He suddenly felt a fear he hadn't felt for awhile. Not since Freddy's. Calling up Aviator's number, Mike got outside of the park, in the parking lot. Sure, maybe Tyler could be late, but the fact that none of the animatronics where there was something way off. And since Aviator wasn't outside the front gate, that only mean that Tyler must have checked in.

“Hello?”

“AVIATOR!” Mike yelled. “Did you see Tyler?

“O-of course I did. He's at work, like you should be.”

“I am at work!” Mike replied. “Tyler isn't here, and none of the animatronics are either!”

“What?”

“Tyler and the animatronics have disappeared.”

“I saw them before I left. I saw Tyler and the animatronics.”

“Yeah, well they aren’t here!”

“Where could they go!?” Aviator was freaking out as well.

“HOW SHOULD I KNOW!?”

Aviator cleared his throat. “Mike. Listen. Take another look around, make sure they arn't playing games with you. You know he would. But I'll come over in a few minutes anyway.”

“Okay.”

“See you in a few.”

Aviator hung up and Mike was left to turn back into the park. Mike put away his phone and walked around slowly, like a spooked cat. He looked everywhere, his heart pounding. Tyler was gone and so were all eight of the animatronics. This wasn't a prank. Where the hell could they all have gone? Mike gulped, checking all of the areas of the park.

Mike headed back to the front when he was done, running into Aviator by the fountain. Aviator had his own flashlight.

“I'm guessing you haven’t found them.” Aviator asked.

Mike shook his head.

“Goddammit.” Aviator hissed under his breath.

“Do y-you think this might have something to do with t-the robber from last night?”

Aviator's eyes widen. “A kidnapping!”

“But who?” Mike asked.

“The same person who would kidnap the animatronic!” Aviator said. “But do they see the animatronics as collectables to sell for cash or do the know more about them then they should?”

“It doesn’t matter! They have Tyler!” Mike snapped. “They've kidnapped a human, and the kidnappings of humans don't tend to turn out well!”

“Of course you would know, Mike. You worked at a place infamous for the kidnapping of five children!”

“Aviator!”

“I'm stating the obvious!”

“What do we do? Where do we look?” Mike asked. Tyler was a friend and he'd never been in such a situation before.

Aviator thought for a moment. “This is a missing persons case. We can only go to the one place that wants nothing of us.”

“The police station?”

Aviator looked defeated. “Where else? Just don't mention the park or the animatronics. He's 18, but still kid honestly. Kidnapped by a kidnapper.”

-...-

The police station was quiet at night, and Mike and Aviator walked in to find the place almost empty. There was a lone lady at the front desk, and looked up to see them.

“Can I help you two?” She asked.

“We'd like to report a missing person.”

The woman frowned, pulling out a pad and a pen to write notes down. “Please go on.”

“Tyler C. He's 18 years old, brown hair, hipster glasses, wearing a security guard uniform.” Aviator said. “He turned up for work at 12:10 AM, but when his co-worker got there 20 minutes later, he was gone, as well as some of the office's property.”

“Okay. Any more details?” The woman asked.

“He's shorter then us.” Mike added, not really knowing his actual height. “He had his property stolen the night before by a lone robber. Property including phone, cash, and keys.”

The woman finished writing down things and clicked the pen closed. She then looked up at the men.

“What is your connection to this boy?”

“I'm his boss and Mike is his co-worker, both good friends with the boy as well.”

“Has anyone else been informed of his absence?”

“We came here first.”

“Now I can file your report, but we cannot actually do anything until 24 hours have passed.” She said, her hands on the desk in front of her.

“What!?” Mike gasped.

“Due to past reports being false accusations as well as over reactions, the law enforcement tells that without strong proof of their disappearance, there must be a 24 hour waiting period before we can take action.” She reported.

“I don't understand?” Aviator said.

“Ma'am, do you realize that in most cases of kidnapping, the kidnapped will be killed in the first few hours?” Mike asked. He's seen far too much of Investigation Discovery.

“Sir. Please listen to me. I personally would like to help you out, but this is how things work. Besides, 18 is still a young age, and many reports of missing people around that age end up just being runaways who return a few hours later. Not only that, but the two of you are not related to said kidnapped, and don't have any strong evidence.”

“Are you trying to say you think Tyler ran away from WORK!? He could have stayed home!”Mike hissed, but Aviator pulled him back.

“Calm down.” Aviator said and then turned to the lady.

“Is it possible for us to call his family?”

“Yes, sir, it is.” The woman nodded her head and pointed to the phone on the wall.

“Thank you.” Aviator dipped his head and then walked over to the phone, Mike sitting on the chairs that were against the wall.

-...-

Tyler's parents and Aunt Janet arrived as soon as they could to the station after hearing of the kidnapping. Janet talked about how she wasn't surprised at all that Tyler had gotten himself in trouble, while his parents were worried sick. His parents talked with Aviator and the police while Mike and Janet sat in the chairs, grumbling about things.

After awhile of bickering and begging, the police began to give in. His parents wouldn't leave them alone, and when the police wouldn't do anything, they talked of going out and looking themselves, not stopping till they found their son. The woman at the front desk was under pressure and sighed.

“I'll see what strings I can pull.” She said.

Nobody really liked that final word of the police, but it was all they were going to get. Even Janet couldn't get them to do anything, as worried as she was. Ha. So they all eventually left. Janet was dropped back at the house and Tyler's parents decided to call a few relatives and friends who lived around or close by, then driving around themselves. Aviator felt bad enough to help the two, and Mike went home.

Morning soon came, and there was still no sign of Tyler.

-...-

Kyle wasn't sure went it started, but the noise of his phone ringing must have been going on for awhile, since he swore it was even in his dream. It was 8 AM when he woke up to his phone screaming it's head off. Yawning, he picked up the phone, finally answering the thing.

“Hello?” He asked mid yawn.

“KYLE!” Kyle heard Shelby's voice. “Kyle you've got to turn on the TV! Like right now!”

“Huh? What?” Kyle got up from the bed.

“Hurry up! Kyle!”

“Okay okay!”

Kyle walked out of his room and into the living room, the house silent due to his parents at work. He turned on the TV, still having Shelby on the line.

“What channel?”

“Local news station. Kyle hurry up!”

Kyle did as told and turned to the local news station. It was a run down little news station that nobody ever really watched, for there were more dramatic things like CNN and Fox and whatever else. Also sometimes the local station didn't spell check their work, which Kyle found funny. When he got to the channel, he was taken by surprise to find a picture of his best friend on there, along with simple info about him.

Have you seen this kid? MISSING since midnight last night.

“K-kyle?” Shelby asked to see if he was still there.

Kyle gulped. “D-did you hear from anyone?”

“No, I thought maybe you would have.”

“No.”

There was a small pause.

“M-meet you at Tyler's house?”

“See you there.”
