Chapter Eight: The Voices
No Nights at Team Crafted's
Chapter Eight:
The Voices
-...-
In the white void, the eight kidnapped voices had woken up to find themselves in a familiar place. A place they had not been in for years. Sky, Ty, Jerome, Mitch, Seto, Jason, Husky, and Ian had woken up to find themselves back in the void that Team Crafted Co. used to cage them in. Not only that, but their return also brought forth the unhappy feeling to the other 16, now 17, voices. The group of eight, waking up, were approached.
“Oh my god, is it really them?” Gizzy approached, shocked.
“What the hell are you all doing back in this dump?” Another voice, belonging to a man in a suit, barked.
“Cib, calm down!” Gizzy shot looks to his friends.
“W-What?” Sky stood up, rubbing his head.
“Oh no.” Mitch grumbled looking around.
“Well look at that.” Said another voice, walking up with Brice and Bashur following cautiously. “Welcome back.”
“I-I don't understand.” Cried out Jerome. “W-What happened!?”
“Well if we're back here then all I can guess is we've been kidnapped back by TC Co.” Seto spoke out, his voice shaky.
“Nuuh, really?” A voice replied.
“Does anyone remember anything from that night?” Ty asked.
“Guys, I think Tyler was there too!” Jason replied.
“God dammit!” Ty hissed
“This is horrible!” Ian sat in the middle of them.
While the eight freaked out, the last of the other 17 voices made their way over to the chaos. Bashur's eyes had widen, unbelieving to what he was seeing.
“It's them. It's those c-characters!” Bashur gasped, Brice and the other voices turning to him.
Seto and Husky, whom had heard Bashur's quiet voice, turned to see him. Their eyes widen, and when the walked over to him in awe, the other Team Crafted voices caught on.
“Oh my god!” Husky exclaimed.
“Bashur Green!” Seto gasped.
“Yeah yeah.” The voices turned to see a voice with red glasses. “I used to work there too!”
“Mister Sparkles.” Ty frowned, walking up to them. “We remember you.”
“Of course.” He frowned.
“Yeah, but we weren't the ones that killed you!” Ian shouted.
Jerome felt a bit of guilt when looking at poor Bashur, but didn't they all.
“I'm so sorry about what happened!” Jerome said.
“Nevermind any of that. It's all in the past!” Said Okward.
“What are you guys doing here!?” Another of the 16 voices asked, stepping up. His name was Andrew, and he wore clothes that resembled a king.
“Did you not just hear them?” Barked the voice next to him. Jordan, wearing a green cape.
“Look. Everyone.” Sky spoke up. “This is what happened.”
“From the beginning? Because that's what we want to hear.” Another voice crossed their arms.
Mitch rolled his eyes and The voices went silent. Seto looked at Sky, who had to tell the story.
“We left when we saw the chance. There were strings we were pulling, but we made it to the park. However, when we got there, the animatronics already had spirits inside of them. Spirits we couldn't talk to. So we sat there, helpless, for years, watching as all these people came in and either ran away screaming or died here. When Bashur got the job, making it for far longer then anyone else, we wanted to try to get him to help us, but we failed. But then Tyler got the job, and we saw our chance when he died. We got him to save us, and we saved him, and for a week or two we were free!”
“But now Team Crafted Co seemed to have kidnapped us back. I think it's because Tyler saved us.” Husky sighed.
“And they noticed a difference in the way the animatronics were acting.” Jerome added. “That's probably why they kidnapped Tyler too, I think.”
“Well, this Tyler boy, he is here. He's been here for well over 24 hours.” Brice said. “Bashur knew him.”
“I did.” Bashur looked down from the eyes turning to him.
“I-Is he...okay?” Seto asked. “Have you kept an eye on him?”
“They're experimenting” Cib frowned.
The eight looked at each other. If they were alive, they'd feel a pain in their stomachs. A terrible pain. They had all assumed the worse, of course. Who wouldn't? After everything that has already happened.
“Well...”Gizzy felt their sorrow.
“What else is there to do?” Mitch asked.
“We can't escape again.” Seto turned to the eight.
“So are you all just gonna do what we've done for years?” Brice asked. “Standing here hopeless?”
“Until the next door opens...” Jerome sighed.
“There won't be any more doors.”
“Welcome back to hell.”
Glares were shared, but there was nothing else to be said. Bashur watched as some of the voices began to walk back to whatever they were doing. Some of the eight newcomers did as well. A feeling of utter despair and dullness filled the nonexistent air. Bashur turned to look around at the others. He wanted to say something, to help, but he couldn't. He still felt alone in the crowd of people.
Suddenly there was a loud grumbling noise, and the ground shook. Some held their ears, bothered by the noise. After a few long seconds, it stopped. Everyone was stopped in place. What the hell was that? Everyone kinda looked at each other, confused, but then something else happened. A glowing light appeared in the middle of them all, and they backed away, watching as it spun and spun.
“What is that!?” Barked Okward.
“I-I think. A-A new voice? But. What entrance is this? Energy is fighting back!” Seto's eyes narrowed as the glowing brightened. He wasn't sure.
In the mist of the glowing, a figure formed, and from there, as the glowing slowly vanished, the figure became more visible. When it all ended, The figure stumbled back, falling to the floor. The figure was none other then Tyler. His figure was burnt and bruised and just so frail. With a gasp, Seto and Sky ran over.
“TYLER!”
With a grumble, Tyler began to move. Sky began to help Tyler up, but when the boy's eyes opened, seeing those in front of him, he jumped back, slipping and falling.
“Ow!” Tyler hissed in pain, but then returned his attention to the setting around him.
You could hear Tyler breathing in and out. He slowly stood up and looked at the faces, then looking down at himself. A mess he was. He gulped, finding himself to be shivering. But was it in fear or was he cold? Both?
“A-Am I d-dead?” Tyler asked, looking around.
“T-TYLER!”
Bashur ran from the crowd of voices, over to Tyler. Tyler was spooked, but came to his senses and was in awe to see his long gone friend. Bashur was up and running and, sadly, more human then when he was trapped in that hospital bed.
“B-Bashur!?” Tyler exclaimed. “What are you doing here!?”
“The question is what are you doing here!?” Bashur said.
“I-I'm dead, arn't I!?” Tyler stepped back. “A-And you! H-How would you even get here!?”
Brice walked up. “I hate to jump in, but Team Crafted Co. has their ways to steal and dead man's voice. And as for you, Tyler.”
The two turned to him.
“You're not dead.” Brice stepped forward and flicked Tyler in the ear.
“Hey!” Tyler hissed, glaring at Brice.
“See. Those who are dead cannot feel pain. You clearly can.” Brice noted.
Tyler took this as a challenge and gave Brice a swift kick in the knee. Nothing happened. Brice hardly even flinched. Brice then nodded his head to Tyler.
“You see?” He asked and Tyler realized the voice was in fact telling the truth.
“So if he's not dead, how'd he get in here?” Ian asked.
“Did you not notice the way he arrived?” One of the voices barked.
“I can't really conclude anything, but...” Seto paused, thinking. “Well. I mean. Like I said, it was like Energy was kinda fighting something. He's not supposed to be in here.”
“WAIT!” Jumped A voice from the crowd. Their name was Sk3tch. “Call me Looni, But maybe it's because he's the only one here still connected to the outside world.”
“Only part of him is here!” Seto exclaimed. “That's true!”
“And so the box was confused. It found the difference and tried to fix it, but guess what. You can't.” Brice sighed.
“The box?” Tyler asked, but was ignored.
“But I wouldn't be so relaxed on this.” Gizzy stepped in. “Wouldn't it come back to try again? If Tyler stays too long, it might actually kill him.”
“But how'd he get shoved in here anyway!? Why would TC co. shove a still living mind into this death camber?” Okward asked.
“Is that the experiment? To see if he lives?” Gizzy went on.
“It can't be.” Said Ant, stepping up as well. “Haven’t any of you been keeping a look out? The experiment ended awhile go as a failure.”
“As a, as a failure?” Tyler repeated, his eyes following the back and forth of the conversation.
“But he isn't dead.” Brice stressed.
“Don't you know anything about Team Crafted Company?” Ty wanted to laugh. “A death is a success to them!”
“And Tyler lived.”
“But what was the experiment?” Tyler asked.
“Well, it wasn't really an experiment, but I'm not really sure they had other words for it. Everything is an experiment to TC co.” Ant said.
“BUT WHAT WAS IT!?” Tyler shouted, tired of not getting any of his questions answered. Didn't they say he was gonna die if he stayed any longer? What the hell were they thinking, wasting time!?
Ant rolled his eyes. “When you'll wake up, you'll know.”
“MOTHER FUCKER, I JUST WANT AN ANSWER!” Tyler yelled. “WHAT'S THE BOX TOO!? ARN'T I SUPPOSED TO DIE OR SOMETHING!? AHHH!”
Bashur gulped, placing his hand on the frustrated young adult. He understood that feeling of what the hell is going on.
“He's right, we need to hurry up.” Seto coughed.
“The box is what we call home, or hell. It's a white box, kinda heavy, that Team Crafted co. has stored us all in. It's the white void. There is a handle on it if I remember correctly.” Brice answered.
“The box isn't small, but it's something someone could pick up. It gets power from things around it, which becomes energy that us spirits can harness and live off of. Spirits of all kinds need energy to do things. Paranormal shows stress that, don't they? Paranormal activity happens a lot in areas of high energy levels.” Sky said.
“Back in the park, we were able to find a white void using energy stored in the cameras. It was kinda cramped, but it's what we had.” Seto said. “When you died, you were inside the cameras.”
“When you died?” Bashur asked. Tyler turned to Bashur.
“Okay, so I mean I did get killed by the animatronics. Like you did, only mine could be considered a bit more unpleasant. ANYWAY, long story short, I was given a second chance and fucking took it.” Tyler explained.
“How though? I mean, you died. That's unrealistic.”
“Bashur. Look man.” Tyler let out a deep breath. “We live in a world were animatronics are smart enough to walk around and kill people on their own, where some dumb ass company can twist the minds of the law enough to get away with inhumane shit, and where after all that shit they saw, my friends have yet to surprise me with an intervention. I'm willing to believe anything. Seto. That man can use some sort of magic, which he's been able to explain sometimes to the point where I can understand. I think maybe we're all going insane.”
Bashur just stared at his friend. Tyler was done with everything.
“Insane!” Tyler stressed. “OH AND DID I MENTION I'M SOMEHOW STILL FUCKING ALIVE. I mean that's pretty unrealistic as well!”
“I think the energy is taking a tole on him.” Sk3tch said.
“Tyler, it's time you woke up.” Seto sighed.
“AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE IS UNREALISTIC? YOU SPENDING 3 MONTHS AT THE PARK WITHOUT DYING.” Tyler was losing it.
“Um... Well.” Bashur gulped.
“Tyler.”
Tyler turned to Seto. Tyler then took a few deep breaths. He shook his head. Yeah, the energy was getting to him. He'd believe that too.
“You're going to need to wake up soon.” Seto said.
“But we can take this opportunity!” Ant stepped over.
“A plan?” Jason asked.
“Depending on what happens when you wake up, this could actually work.” Ant smiled. “See, Tyler, when you get up, you need to find your way to the hall with the animatronics.”
“Ant stop this is too much. This is a plan you've only just came up with.” Mitch frowned.
“No, no! Listen!” Ant said. “ If you can do that, you can pull the energy switch that would allow us to jump from the void to the animatronics!”
“Are you suggesting a riot?” Brice asked.
“Oh, I love the sound of that!” Sk3tch grinned.
“How's Tyler going to do that without being caught? There are cameras everything, idiot.” Okward asked.
“It's a chance we can take, isn't it?”
They looked to Tyler, but then realized that Tyler had a painful expression on his face. He was feeling pain. And he was trying to keep it all inside.
“Guys we need to hurry. Tyler's going to feel worse and worse until he can't feel anything at all.” Seto hissed.
“Tyler, listen to me.” Ant turned to Tyler, who shook his head and tried to pay attention to him. “If you can, IF YOU CAN, Find that switch. From then on we can take over! The door will open again!”
Tyler wasn't feeling any better, and the pain was growing faster then they thought it would. Seto frowned, pushing Ant to the side.
“Tyler. Listen, this will hurt. It'll hurt really badly. But you'll wake up. You'll wake up and you won't be dead. So listen to me like you did before. Because you listened pretty well before.” Seto said, grabbing a hold of Tyler's shoulders. “Curiosity killed the cat. We get that. That part is in the past. But what has yet to happen is satisfaction bringing it back. That's going to happen now. We all thought that fixing the animatronics was satisfaction, but not for all.”
“S-So...?” Tyler looked confused as hell.
Seto sighed. “I'm stumbling over myself. Let's put it to this. I have a gut feeling this is only going to get worse. And my gut feelings aren’t to be toyed with.”
“What he's saying is that when you wake up, no matter what you do, you keep an eye out.” Bashur sighed.
“Thank you.” Seto said. Maybe the energy was taking a tole on him too.
“So.” Seto stepped back from Tyler. “It's time to wake up. Forgive me.”
The next thing Tyler saw coming was a fist to the face. Seto was right. Sure, he felt pain, but truth was he was kinda losing connection, so Tyler really wasn't sure what was going on anymore by that point. Notch only hopes he caught those last few words. The pain Seto put on Tyler was enough for his nerves to react. His body in real life began to notice a few things, and wake up. Tyler's figure in the white void began to disappear, a bit of a fuzzy glow appearing around him, which was the energy reacting.
When the figure was gone, there was a silence in the white void. They looked around at each other. Seto sighed, worn out.
“I'm going to be truthful here.” He sighed, sitting down. “I don't think he caught that.”
“It was worth the effort. It's not like we have breath to lose.” Brice shrugged.
“Hey, Ant.” Husky walked over to the voice. “Your plan assumed that he'd be able to get up and walk around. He can, right?”
“Yeah.” Sky and a few others walked over. “What did you see, watching out in the real world?”
Ant paused.
“Well. I mean. It's something you should probably see for yourself.”
And so the voices were left to find out for themselves. Some followed Ant to where they could see into the real work, using the energy they had. What they saw surprised them. Shocked them. Scared them.
“So...If he's alive...” Gizzy gasped
“-In there-” Ian continued
“-Then th-that m-means-” Cib stuttered.
Brice stopped them. “He's the actor. Actors switch roles.”
Bashur frowned, worry in his eyes.
“But maybe the role of an animatronic is a bit too much.”
