Chapter 3

Bella's P.O.V.

Venom grabbed the cats he wanted - including me - and had taken off with us to RiverClan while we could. I knew something bad was bound to happen.

Maybe StarClan will warn them we are coming? What if WindClan happens to just show up? What will we do if Mistystar and ThunderClan show up? Two leaders are too many.

Venom and Cloud paused at the river keeping WindClan separated from RiverClan. Shadow stood crouched down beside me, ears flat and eyes wide.

He turned to me as Venom started speaking to Cloud. Shadow must've seen worry on my face because his eyes began to glow with sympathy.

"We'll be alright." He whispered to me, nuzzling my face. I purred but didn't have a chance to reply before Venom spoke low to the group, "Moon, Bella, you're in charge of raiding the medicine den. Adder, Shadow, you two kill the medicine cat apprentice or whatever she is." He announced. "Coal, Ocean, stay here and kick as much ash into the river as you can, from both ends."

My heart pounded hard. 'Me? What? I can't raid a medicine den!' I wanted to confront him but Venom and Cloud had already set out to wade across the river.

Moon came in beside me and dipped his head. I did it back and looked over at Shadow. Adder was in beside him as well.

I looked forward and jumped silently into the churning, murky waters. There was some kind of black stuff traveling down stream. I climbed out of the water and glanced over at Ocean and Coal. Coal was grabbing ash and Ocean was kicking ash in the murky water.

Looking away, I rushed to the RiverClan camp, open with a few reeds for walls. Venom sent cats one way with Cloud and more to follow him.

He turned to us, "As soon as a battle begins, run in and try to stay unseen." He muttered, tail whipping and ears twitching and turning to catch every sound.

We all nodded and got down into a crouch. Moon was the sneakiest of all four of us, Shadow would be second and I would probably be third and then Adder would be the strong one with the ability of sneaking needing adjustment.

Suddenly, all the silence was broken and cats were fighting. RiverClan was doomed. I smirked and Shadow and Adder began to creep into camp.

Moon and I stayed just behind them as we tore silently through the camp.

I caught sight of Cloud as his paw swiped harshly across a cats face, causing blood and the cats head to be whipped toward me. Venom snuck up to another cat, a black bulky yet small tom.

If Mistystar hadn't of been the leader, I would've guessed he was. 'Maybe he's the deputy?' I wondered as Venom leaped up and slashed his spine, falling perfectly on him.

I turned forward and swerved by a falling RiverClan cat, blood splattering just past my tail tip. I rushed into what seemed to be - and what smelled to be - the medicine den.

The four of us ducked in and a golden tabby she-cat unsheathed her claws from the back of the den. Adder leaped at her and the golden cat dived away just in time. Shadow easily pinned her down from where she laid and together, Adder and Shadow clawed at her.

I loved how Shadow clawed away, how his sleek fur went up in fury in battles. He was perfect to me in every way.

Moon prodded me and I rushed the the stoke if medicine. 'RiverClan has close to no medicine!' Only scraps were in the stocks, dried leaves and ripped ones as well. "Where the medicine?" I hissed and Adder responded through hits, "I don't know, she must've... hidden them!"

I growled and ran to where she has been sitting and Moon went the opposite way. She had been sitting in a nest of moss with extra amount of feathers. I lifted it and threw it at the burrows' wall.

A hole with a bunch of herbs was sitting just behind the nest. 'Clever...' "Found them!" I called to Moon, but he was busy with a warrior. The golden she-cat laid motionless with the last of her blood dripping from her neck. Shadow and Moon were helping each other with another huge warrior.

"Destroy the medicine, Bella!" Moon called and I shook my head to clear my thoughts, and turned to the hole filled with medicine.

Breathing heavily and heart pounding, I felt pressured and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get it all with shaky paws and an unsure mind.

Even so, I tore away at the leaves, sticking my paw into the hole and clawing away. Once they were almost all shredded, I packed then down and kicked dirt and dirty feathers over it and made sure it was covered by a rock and the nest I threw.

"Go, hurry!" Shadow growled, holding back a huge warrior as it clawed at him. I didn't want to, but I did, leaving them behind in the medicine den.

I rushed out and bumped into a cat who was beating down on Cloud. He was bleeding severly and was barely fighting back. "Hey!" I screamed, shoving the cat who was killing the Jagged Rocks' leader.

The cat whipped around and hissed, clawing at my face. I dodged it and swung my foot at his leg. He stumbled and fell flat on his face. I jumped onto his shoulders and just as I grabbed his neck to give him the killing bite, someone was flung into me.

I rolled around and came face to face with a WindClan-smelling cat. I quickly stood up and slashed her face. She growled and clawed at me several times. Blood flew everywhere from my muzzle and eye. I hissed loudly and lunged for the warrior, but she dodged it easily and I skidded to a halt, sliding sideways to her and shoving her to the ground.

I sliced at her face, watching the blood come out of her wounds and she squeaked. I was shoved off of her by a sudden cat and I growled, stumbling. Cats were surrounding everyone. I couldn't find Ashfoot or Onestar; either they were finding Mistystar to warn them, or the warriors took this on themselves.

Maybe even both had happened...

It didn't matter, all I knew was that we were being beaten. Badly. Cloud was dead, I was surrounded and the only two I was almost completely sure that were okay, were Ocean and Coal.

But if WindClan was here, maybe they were attacked? Was the camp being attacked right now? It doesn't look like all the WindClan cats are here... We had to leave, the rest of the cats could be in danger.

Cats jumped at me from all angles and I dodged them, running off with Hickory. He was bleeding badly and breathing heavily.

"Go, go!" I yelled, pushing him to the black water. The orange flame had been out out fully now, but RiverClan won't be seeing any fish for a while.

I climbed into the water and took long strides to the other side.

Hickory climbed out as well and I shoved him through the grass. "Coal! Ocean! Come on!" I called over my shoulder.

The two cats didn't seem to be hurt too bad. Two cats laid dead by the rivers edge, fur coated in ash and heads consumed by water.

I turned around and guided Hickory, Coal and Ocean to our territory. I dashed harder until my legs burned. I pushed my limits and halted at the trail.

I stalked up it slowly and quietly, entering to see nothing and no one.

"Where is everyone?" Coal whispered and I shrugged, "They could've been taken away." I replied low.

I ran into the medicine den to bump into Leaf and Strike. "I heard you come in. The queens are in here as well, from Jagged Rocks as well. Storm is guarding with Dark in Jagged Rocks camp." Strike informed us.

I dipped my head and I rushed away. "Come on," I called over my shoulder to the three warriors. I bounded out of camp and across the river and down the rocky territory and into the camp.

I was taken away by the sight.
