Twenty-Three
Yoongi went to Taehyung's house with a full plan. First, he was going to knock on the door. Second, he would hope that Taehyung answers the door instead of Jimin or Jungkook. If that fails, he'll ask one of the other two to tell Taehyung to come to the door. If Taehyung is the one who answers, Yoongi plans to go with step three, which is to just plain out ask Taehyung why he's ignoring both him and Jungkook now, and if he likes Yoongi in any romantic way possible.
Simple plan.
He did step one breezily like it was nothing. He knocked so confidently on the door and waited for a moment. Step two, however, resulted in Jimin answering the door.
"Tae's in his room." Yoongi blinked in confusion at Jimin. Did he not know that Taehyung was ignoring him? Why is he acting so normal? "And listen," Jimin said as he stepped aside to let Yoongi in. "I kinda like you, okay? So don't go being so careless about things. And don't hurt TaeTae."
He turned around and left the front door to Yoongi. Yoongi shook his head to rid of whatever the hell that confusion was. He walked towards Taehyung's room, knowing full and well that Taehyung knew he was here, but he knocked softly on the door anyway.
Taehyung opened the door, his soft eyes settling on Yoongi. "What?"
Step three was a little easier in Yoongi's head. Now, he can't even think straight. Not when Taehyung had on no t-shirt and wet hair. Not when the only thing his friend had on was nude sweats and a white towel on his head.
"I- I wanna talk."
Taehyung shook his head. "I don't want to talk," he flat out said. "I have somewhere to go. We can talk some other time." He started to close the door, but Yoongi managed to put his hand in the way to keep it open. Taehyung looked back at him like he was crazy. "I already broke your foot. What, you want your hand to end up like that, too?" he asked.
"No," Yoongi murmured as he withdrew his hand. Taehyung looked like he wanted to say something, judging by the tilt of his head and biting of his bottom lip. "How long do you plan on ignoring Jungkook?" Yoongi asked.
The mention of Jungkook made Taehyung sigh. "I have to get ready, Yoongi," he said. "I'm not talking about this right now."
This time he succeeded in closing the door on Yoongi. And though Yoongi knew that Jungkook was probably here, he decided to leave the house instead of even bothering. He knew that Jungkook was upset too and he knew for sure that Taehyung was ignoring them— so he went back home.
Vampires are so dramatic.
-
It took nearly a whole seven days, a whole week before Yoongi's mind eventually clicked. It never would've happened without his friends, but he finally let his mind be open to the possibility of Taehyung liking him. Though it may not seem like it to him, he realized a pattern of everyone else telling him differently. Even Kwan mentioned something about him and Taehyung being together.
So, Yoongi tried to take it in.
Could Taehyung actually be jealous that Jungkook had kissed him? Is the T mark on his shoulder a soulmate mark? Is that a thing in the vampire world? Had Taehyung marked Yoongi or something?
Even so, how would he figure out, right? Well, he had another grand plan. If Taehyung truly does care about him, then the little note he shoved into the crack of Taehyung's locker must do something, at least. Maybe the "Hey, Taehyung. I wanna talk. I'm not going inside my house until you show up, so either you show up or I freeze and starve to death. Your choice, buddy." had gotten his attention. Or maybe it wouldn't.
But, judging by the faint footsteps coming up to Yoongi, who was sitting on the porch with a blanket wrapped around him, Taehyung had listened and cared enough to show up.
"Are you kidding?" Taehyung asked as he walked up to Yoongi. The human smirked up at him because he had gotten his way. He was still sitting on the porch, curling up into his blanket and scrolling on his phone. He put his phone in his pocket and rose up.
"Hey," he said.
Taehyung huffed. "Were you seriously going to sit out here all night?" he asked. Yoongi merely nodded. "Are you crazy?"
"No." Yoongi backed up on the porch as Taehyung stepped up towards him, forcing the blanket around Yoongi's body more, keeping him warm. "Taehyung, stop." He backed away even more from the vampire, who frowned in return. "We need to talk about this. You've been ignoring me and Jungkook all week. Jungkook even sat at my lunch table because he felt uncomfortable because of you."
"I did nothing," Taehyung muttered, crossing his arms over his abdomen and staring down at Yoongi's small, blanketed body.
"You ignored us because we kissed."
Taehyung grimaced.
So Jungkook kissing Yoongi is a thousand percent the reason why Taehyung was ignoring them, right? "Taehyung, you can't ignore us because he kissed me. You and I are friends. We talked about that," he told him. "And since when does it matter who I kiss? Me and Jungkook are friends. Friends."
Taehyung groaned. "But you guys kissed. I saw it." He had furrowed his eyebrows as he spoke. "I felt like shit watching that happen. And with Kwan, too. You kissed Kwan—"
"She kissed me, Taehyung." Yoongi's voice was low as he spoke. He took the blanket off of him, now heated too much. "It doesn't matter, anyway. Do you know how many times I wanted you to be the one kissing me?" he asked. "Way too much, Tae."
"I told you!" Taehyung's voice was getting louder into the silent air. Yoongi flinched, not even knowing that Taehyung was capable of yelling because of how soft and nice he usually is. "I told you that I want to, damnit."
"Then fucking do it!" Yoongi yelled back at him. He was shaking now, clenching his fists as they continued. "Stop making such a big deal out of something like this. You kissed someone else too, asshole. You kissed someone. You kissed someone. I didn't kiss Kwan or Jungkook, they were the ones who did that, but you? You were the one all over that guy in the hall. You were the one who made it clear to me that you don't want to kiss me. I got the memo, Tae. Quit lying to me—"
"Don't accuse me of lying," Taehyung cut him off, his tone fierce and dark eyes staring right into Yoongi's. "Because I'm not. You don't even know the way that I suffer right now."
"Then... Fuck."
Yoongi inhaled the cold air deeply as he took a step forward and placed his hands on the vampire's jaw, pushing his toes into the concrete and pulling Taehyung in. He could hear Taehyung's breath hitch as he lunged forward, pressing their cold lips together, trying to ignore the small gasp coming from Taehyung— trying to ignore the way Taehyung held onto Yoongi's arms for dear life.
Yoongi kissed him, sliding his lips against Taehyung's and reaching to hold onto his soft locks. He felt like crying when Taehyung's hands softened on him, but he wasn't kissing back. He wasn't on the same page as Yoongi.
He wasn't moving, wasn't reacting— or at least if he was doing anything, Yoongi couldn't tell or couldn't see. Maybe Taehyung's eyes were lost, full of surprise or confusion.
But Yoongi kissed him.
He pulled away, the butterflies in his stomach all set on fire as he came face to face with Taehyung's fear-filled eyes. The way he was looking at Yoongi made the human a little worried— but then he was being guided backwards, being pushed by Taehyung and suddenly held against the front door.
He was shivering, waiting for Taehyung to say something. Waiting for Taehyung to yell at him for kissing him. Waiting for him to leave Yoongi and never come back again.
But, Yoongi gasped as Taehyung leaned in and pressed their lips together again. He had Yoongi caged in against the door, his hands traveling down Yoongi's waist and tugging their bodies closer. His hands roamed all over Yoongi, taking the kiss in. A small whine came from Yoongi as Taehyung parted his lips and sucked onto his, his body tingling all over and heated at every little touch he felt against his skin. He was driven wild as Taehyung cupped his cheeks to deepen the kiss.
But the warmth and sensation of it all turned into fire. He felt a deep, thick sinking in his chest. A drop in his stomach and a sting. A sharp, sharp stinging on his shoulder— his left shoulder. He winced into the kiss, but he couldn't turn away. Not now. Not when he finally got what he's wanted for so long.
Taehyung soothed his tongue onto Yoongi's top lip and Yoongi thought that he would be okay. He thought he was just making shit up in his head, but then it became overwhelming. He pulled Taehyung out of the kiss, gasping into the cold air as soon as they disconnected from each other. The stinging became consistent, so unexpected, but very much real.
"Fuck." Taehyung trembled along with Yoongi, resting his forehead against the human's. He had the same fear and guilt in his eyes that was evident before he had kissed Yoongi back. "I'm sorry," he let out.
Yoongi would've looked at Taehyung like he was crazy for saying such things right now, but he was now whimpering at every stab in his skin, pressing his body helplessly into Taehyung's, who merely held onto him.
"W-What's wrong with me?" Yoongi gasped, pressing his fingers into Taehyung's shoulders and holding on so tightly he felt like he could tear Taehyung apart. His shoulder pain started to slowly spread to his back and he was trying his best not to go completely insane. His whole body felt weak. "W-Why?" he cried. He even dug his short nails into Taehyung, resting his head against him to calm down.
And then he felt it.
Taehyung had shifted so abruptly that he didn't even catch it, but he could feel Taehyung's fangs plunging into his neck. It was not much different from the pain of the sting— not unless you count the fact that it was five times more painful. This is what Yoongi had once feared, but it's also something he had somewhat wishing for. Not like this, though. Not so unexpectedly like this.
He tried not to scream into Taehyung, the feeling of the bite and shoulder stinging together making him feel like he was dying such a horrible, horrible death. His whole body was being slowly tortured. So much that he felt like he was going to puke. So much that everything was suddenly fading away to black. Everything was fading and Yoongi couldn't figure out how he had gotten here so quickly. He didn't even know what Taehyung was doing anymore because he was so immersed in the feeling of excruciating pain and—
It's venom, Yoongi figured out just seconds before he collapsed and the whole world around him was becoming nothing.
Just nothing.
