Three
It didn't take Yoongi too long to notice that something weird was going on between his friend group and Taehyung's friend group. When he would pass Taehyung and his friends in the school hallway, Seokjin would pull Yoongi closer and Namjoon would do his jaw clenching move— the one where he's either very concentrated or onto something, and Hoseok would grab Yoongi's hand and continue the conversation to ease the mood and not make it obvious.
But Yoongi knew.
Taehyung's friends would eye them right back, squinting with evil eyes, sometimes even provoking Yoongi's friends. Taehyung would stare back at Namjoon specifically, not squinting or scowling, but his face blank. He wouldn't smirk like his friends sometimes do, wouldn't act petty or rude, but he would always have that same look on his face.
And then there's Yoongi. He's in the middle of it all every time, not comprehending what's going on. He's not in the loop. He doesn't understand where the sudden tension was coming from, unless Yoongi's friends had done something he didn't know about— or if Taehyung's friends had done anything.
Yoongi wants to know.
As soon as he realized something was up, he didn't try to ask his friends. Hoseok and Namjoon would pretend they didn't know and then brush it off. Seokjin would get annoyed, deny it, and then change the subject.
Considering Taehyung saved Yoongi's life, Yoongi assumed that Taehyung would be the best person to ask out of that friend group. He thought that since he had been in contact at least twice with him, Taehyung would be the easiest to try and ask about the conflict. Suddenly Yoongi had gotten confident.
He walked up to Taehyung.
During lunch, about a week after the whole party incident happened, Yoongi saw Taehyung sitting next to Jeon Jungkook, no Jimin in sight. His own friends weren't at their usual table yet, so Yoongi took this time to walk straight to Taehyung's table; the table that nobody dares to walk up to.
Taehyung was watching Yoongi come towards him. He wasted no time in standing up from his own table, saying something to Jungkook before he walked towards the cafeteria door, leaving Yoongi to stand in the middle of the cafeteria like an idiot. He huffed, not thinking twice before he ran towards that door.
As soon as he opened the door, he was jerked, his wrist pulled to the side, and he was suddenly being pressed into the wall right next to the cafeteria entrance.
"What do you want?" Taehyung held Yoongi against the wall, earning a small gasp as Yoongi's heart started to beat out of his chest. He wasn't expecting this to happen.
"Y-Your friends," he muttered, fear evident in his shaky voice. Taehyung tightened his grip on Yoongi's wrist, his other hand trapping the smaller against the wall. From up so close, Yoongi could see his hazel-golden eyes, his beautiful face— sharp jawline, pretty lips, a loose curl hanging above his eyelid, eyelashes delicate as he blinked with irritation filled in said stunning eyes.
He's so pretty, Yoongi thinks.
"What about my friends?" Taehyung's voice was mixed with bitterness and confusion.
"They're eyeing mine."
"Then stop causing unnecessary drama," Taehyung growled to him.
"Drama?" Yoongi asked. "Your friend came up to me and I'm the one causing drama?"
"You wouldn't understand." Taehyung let Yoongi go. "Stop trying to blame my friends and just drop your stupid curiosity game." He clenched his jaw. "You'll get hurt," he muttered as he turned to look back down the hallway, seeing Jimin approaching them. "Don't," he said to Jimin as he walked away from Yoongi, heading back towards the cafeteria door. "Let's go, Jimin." He pulled Jimin with him, but Jimin was giving a warning stare at him.
Yoongi sighed as they disappeared into the cafeteria. Now he really knows something is up. Jimin doesn't like Yoongi. It's obvious that Taehyung doesn't like him either. But there is one last person in their group.
Jeon Jungkook.

Perhaps it was a mistake to decide and ask Jungkook instead. Clearly, Jungkook would brush him off, kick him to the dirt as well, leave him with questions still unanswered. There was no point to fall into said curiosity game, but if their friends have a problem, then Yoongi wants it solved. He doesn't like the pettiness. He doesn't like how childish this is.
You wouldn't understand— nobody has the right to tell Yoongi what he will and won't. He can understand, and he will.
So in he goes, looking for the perfect timing, which is quite hard. The group always sticks together and Yoongi never sees Jungkook alone. It took about three days before Yoongi finally caught him, and it was in the library— someplace that Yoongi had never seen the face entering before. And even more odd, Jungkook sat close to him. Too close.
At first, Yoongi was iffy seeing Jungkook open up a laptop and start typing on it as if the elephant in the room wasn't kicking over everything in sight. Yoongi knew that Jungkook was there for a reason. Him.
"I don't have all day," Jungkook murmured. Yoongi completely looked up from his own school laptop, surprised. Jungkook chuckled lightly as he closed his laptop, turning around to look at Yoongi. He had big brown eyes, brown hair parted to only show a bit of his forehead, and he looked sort of young. A little young to be in his last school year. "You gonna stare at me or speak?" he asked.
Yoongi sat up straighter on his stool. "It's too quiet in here," he told Jungkook. "Can we go outside?" he asked. Jungkook smiled.
"Sounds great to me."
They both walked out of the library, Jungkook holding the door for Yoongi. He already seemed much nicer than the other two of his friends. Even as they left the sight of the few other people in the library, Jungkook had a nice little smile on his face.
"I see you want to talk."
Yoongi nodded, not even questioning how Jungkook knew. Maybe it was because he had been staring at him, trying to wait for the moment that Jungkook was alone.
"I do," Yoongi said. "I've been wanting to talk to you for a few days now."
Jungkook nodded. "Speak."
"Okay." Yoongi sighed, ready to get answers finally. "I wanted to know—"
"Of course." Jungkook cut him off almost instantly, taking a step forward, leading Yoongi back into the brick of the library wall. Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows as Jungkook came closer, closer, closer.
"What? I didn't even—"
"A date, of course." Jungkook leaned in to kiss Yoongi, but Yoongi moved his head, earning a kiss on the cheek instead. It didn't seem to bother Jungkook at all. He began to leave a trail of kisses from Yoongi's cheek to his neck. Who the hell does he think he is?
"I—" Yoongi choked as Jungkook put his hands on his hips, holding him against the wall as he pecked Yoongi's skin. "T-That's not what I was going to say," Yoongi stuttered, hesitantly pressing at Jungkook to push him away, but the tough boy wasn't moving an inch.
Jungkook chuckled against Yoongi's skin. "I know," he said. "I just like to play with—" His words got cut off by a pull, dragging Jungkook away from Yoongi and suddenly choking him against the wall. Yoongi inhaled to catch his breath, cowering when he noticed it was Taehyung. He had Jungkook pinned to the library, fingers pressed to his throat, holding him there with a furious stare.
"The fuck, Jungkook?" Taehyung growled. Jungkook choked a laugh out, but Taehyung's grip became tighter. Yoongi stepped away, not sure of what to do. "Jimin sent you here, didn't he?" Taehyung asked. Jungkook suddenly went silent until Taehyung choked him harder.
"Let me go." He reached for Taehyung's hands, trying to set himself free.
"Asshole." Taehyung pushed Jungkook to the side, making him fall weakly to the ground. Taehyung almost instantly turned to Yoongi and scanned him. "You get turned on by putting yourself in danger or something?"
Yoongi's scoffed. "How was I supposed to know that getting sick at a party and talking to my classmate is dangerous?"
Taehyung fell silent.
"Get your shit together, hyung." Jungkook pulled himself from the ground.
Hyung?
"Piss off," Taehyung said to him. "Go home. You shouldn't even be here." Jungkook huffed as he began to walk away. Taehyung walked towards Yoongi, scanning him once more.
"I wouldn't even be in this situation if you had just told me what's going on," Yoongi stated. "And besides, what the fuck is wrong with your friends? One hates me and the other is trying to kiss me—"
"He didn't mean that."
Yoongi scoffed. "That makes me feel better." He turned around, picking his bag up off of the sidewalk and throwing it over his shoulder. Taehyung groaned as Yoongi began to walk in the opposite direction of him.
"Fine," he let out.
At that, Yoongi halted. He turned around and tilted his head at the boy. "Fine?" he asked. "Fine, as in you'll tell me something? As in something is actually wrong?"
Taehyung just nodded.
"What is it?" Yoongi asked as he fully turned around, ready to certainly get an answer. Taehyung merely sighed at him.
"Not here—"
"Yoongi!"
Yoongi cursed as Taehyung was cut off. They both looked in the direction of the voice, Seokjin's voice. Judging by the look on his friend's face, Yoongi already knew that he wasn't going to like what was coming.
Seokjin basically sprinted to Yoongi, phone clutched in his hand. "Yoongi," he exhaled deeply as he finally got to him. He glared at Taehyung as he wrapped his arm around Yoongi's waist, pulling him close. "I've been looking everywhere for you. We were supposed to go to my house, remember?"
Yoongi pouted as he realized that he was supposed to go to Seokjin's house to work on a project. Of course. He looked up at Taehyung and bit his bottom lip as Taehyung stared down at Seokjin's hand on his waist.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Yoongi said.
Seokjin snickered. "Yeah right."
Taehyung perked up at Seokjin, then looked at Yoongi. "I'll see you tomorrow," he repeated what Yoongi said. Seokjin's mood was shot down, suddenly holding tighter onto Yoongi as Taehyung smirked and walked away.
"Yoongi," Seokjin sighed out. "Why are you hanging out with that guy? Since when do you know him? God, please don't—"
"Why should it matter?" Yoongi raised an eyebrow at the older. Seokjin was silent, his eyes burning into Yoongi now. "Let's just go. You don't have to worry about me. I'll be okay, hyung. It's not like he'll hurt me."
He saved me twice now, hyung.
"You're hopeless, Min Yoongi." Seokjin muttered as he lead the way to his house.
"Not quite yet, hyung."
