Eleven

"We shouldn't be friends."

Yoongi's mouth fell open at that sentence leaving Taehyung's mouth. They shouldn't be friends? No shit, they shouldn't be. That's something Yoongi understood from the very beginning. Who does Kim Taehyung think he is now, telling Yoongi this? After all of that, this is it? Taehyung just wants to end it? After all of the arguments, after Yoongi risking his friendships and lying to his friends— after Yoongi risking his own life?

"You don't want to be friends," Yoongi noted. He didn't like the fact that Taehyung was telling him this right now, in the middle of class as if to ruin his morning.

He was so excited to come to school today and actually act like ordinary friends with Taehyung, but now Taehyung is telling him that he doesn't want that to happen.

"Right," Taehyung muttered.

As much as Yoongi wanted to punch the vampire right in the face, he knew it wouldn't hurt and he knew that it was an idiotic thing to even want to do. Taehyung chooses who he's friends with. Yoongi can't force him to be his friend and he sure as hell isn't going to beg him to be either. That doesn't stop Yoongi from being upset about it, though.

"Oh."

He looked up from his desk, trying his best to ignore the confused look coming from Namjoon, who was sitting right next to him. Taehyung looked sort of guilty himself as he spoke to Yoongi, but Yoongi didn't want to question it because now he's just upset and he probably will be for the rest of the day.

Taehyung is such a fun person to hang out with. He was starting to get used to seeing his friend every chance they could meet up at Yoongi's house. He was getting used to going onto the roof and chilling with his new friend. He was getting used to learning new things about someone. He was getting used to having a friend other than people in his group.

"That's okay," Yoongi mumbled to himself more than to Taehyung, who was standing next to Yoongi's desk and waiting for an answer or at least some kind of confirmation. "Yeah, that's fine. You don't want to be friends." Yoongi grabbed his iced coffee and put the straw up to his lips just to have something to hold onto. "That's great," he muttered around the straw. "You don't want to be friends after all of that. That's amazing, really."

Taehyung frowned. "I'm sorry," he said. "I should've been more careful."

He walked away, giving Yoongi no explanation as to what the hell that the last remark meant. But Yoongi decided to try and not care. He tried to not want to whine or cry as Taehyung turned his back to him and simply walked away from him.

"It must've been Jimin," Namjoon whispered next to Yoongi. "It's not you if that's what you're thinking.." Yoongi turned to give his friend a weak smile to prove that he was okay. Maybe he wouldn't be okay with it, but he can't do anything about that.

"It's fine," he lied.

-

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

Yoongi didn't care who the hell sat next to him. He was in an awful mood today, and school wasn't even halfway over with yet. They hadn't even had lunch yet.

"Sit," he said to the girl.

The girl sat down at the desk next to him, her perfume sweet-smelling, like orange butter creme cake— which is one of Yoongi's favorite scents. It smelled nice, but Yoongi was in no mood to even want to find it appealing to himself. All he could think about was how terrible his day was going.

"I'm Kwan," the girl suddenly told Yoongi. He looked at her and nodded, at least trying to be friendly with the quiet girl.

  "Yoongi," he said.

Kwan nodded as well. "I know who you are," she responded. "I've seen you around."

Yoongi looked at the girl, really looked at her. She had jet black hair, long and straight. Her hair was pulled back from her face, tied in a little rubber band. She had piercing green eyes, something Yoongi had never really seen before, but her eyes were soft as well. As she smiled at Yoongi, he knew that she was sweet and kind, and her pretty smile just gave that away. Her nose was sharp, as well as her colored-in eyebrows. She didn't have on too much makeup, just going for a natural look. Her lipgloss was shiny and pretty as well.

"I'm guessing you've never seen me," she chuckled to herself. "I'm very shy. That's probably why." She pulled her pencil in between her fingers and twirled it. "My friends kind of kicked me away from their group, so I was just trying to meet some new people."

Yoongi nodded once again. "Well, I'll be glad to be your friend if you want."

Kwan gleamed at him. "Thank you."

-

Yoongi brought Kwan to his lunch table. He had thoughts about how dumb it may be to bring another human to his vampire friends, but then again he is just a human himself. Maybe he needs human friends. There was no harm in bringing his new friend over to his table to eat human food with him.

Hoseok was quiet about it and so was Seokjin, but Namjoon at least smiled at the girl as she sat down next to Yoongi.

"Who's this?" he asked.

Yoongi hadn't even told Seokjin or Hoseok about his incident with Taehyung this morning. He didn't need Seokjin to already be mad at him so early on, especially not since he was still a little angry from last night.

"This is Kwan," Yoongi announced once he realized that she wasn't going to answer, seeming to shy to do so. Namjoon smiled so warmly at her and it made Yoongi pleased. Namjoon is such a nice guy.

"Hi, Kwan," he said. "I'm Namjoon. That's Seokjin and Hoseok."

Seokjin bit his inner cheek. "Bringing more friends around, I see." He held his hand out to the new girl. "I'm Seokjin. I've seen you around." He turned to Yoongi and nodded, seeming to like that Yoongi brought a human to their table instead of a certain vampire that totally could've been there instead.

"I'm Hoseok." Hoseok waved, smiling big as the girl smiled shyly at him.

Kwan turned to Yoongi, sort of pressing her body into his arm. "You sure do have such handsome friends, Yoongi," she said.

Yoongi frowned. "Are you saying that I'm not handsome or something? Wow."

Seokjin smirked and Namjoon laughed lightly, watching as Hoseok merely eyed the girl, as if scanning to see if she's okay.

"No, no— You're handsome," Kwan was quick to say. Her face was turning red, and it suddenly made Yoongi feel human. Not that he isn't human, but hanging out with vampires, Yoongi has realized how many things that aren't normal that he didn't notice before.

"I'm more handsome though, right?" Seokjin smiled and winked at the poor girl.

"I-I'm not answering that." Kwan shoved her peeled banana in her mouth to stop her from having to answer so many questions.

Seokjin raised his eyebrow to Yoongi, but Yoongi creased his eyebrows in return before turning back to the girl. "Kwan's little girl friends are talking shit, so I invited her to sit with us," he told his friends. "Hope you guys don't mind." He mumbled weakly.

"I don't think it's us you have to worry about being okay with this," Namjoon said.

Yoongi didn't understand what that meant, but he just smiled instead, watching as his new friend started to ease up and smile back at him. He loves making people feel warm and welcome, because he never had that when he needed it the most, so the fact that he can make this girl smile makes him satisfied.

"So, Kwan, what's your favorite food?" Hoseok cleared his throat, willing to make conversation. Seokjin barely glanced at him, still iffy about the fact that Hoseok had evidently talked to Jimin. Yoongi still doesn't understand the hate towards Jimin but he guesses it's because they're in different groups or something. He never asked.

"Pasta," Kwan answered as if she was unsure why she was being asked that.

  Hoseok nodded. "Good choice."

"What about you guys?" Kwan asked. Namjoon rubbed his neck nervously and Hoseok giggled to himself. Seokjin wrapped his arm around Yoongi and chuckled too.

"We love all sorts of food," Seokjin said. "Yoongi really likes iced coffees and pasta as well. Maybe we could make you some pasta. I'm really good at cooking and so is Yoongi. How about you come to his house?"

Everyone at the table opened their eyes wide. "R-Really?" Kwan questioned.

Yoongi looked back at Seokjin, who was smiling as if he hadn't offered her to Yoongi's home. Then he looked back at Taehyung's table. He didn't know why he did it, maybe because he was so used to Taehyung coming over, but he was glad he did because he saw Taehyung's eyes as soon as he spun to glance. He glimpsed at Taehyung and decided that yes, maybe he would actually like to have a new friend come by his house instead.

"Only if Seokjin drives to the store and gets the ingredients." he nodded. "I still have a broken foot, since a certain someone broke it." He then glared back at Taehyung, who he knew was listening in on his conversation.

Yoongi doesn't need Taehyung to have fun, and he won't let Taehyung ruin his day any further. So yeah, he'd like for his new friend to come over. Of course, he would.

"You can come over around dinner time," he told Kwan, who was smiling up at Yoongi with that pretty smile of hers. "Only if you want to. I'd like it if you would. All of you come."

Hoseok was shrugging as Namjoon nodded, agreeing to come. Seokjin brightened up at Yoongi. "Pasta night!" he cheered.

Yoongi chuckled and Kwan did as well. "O-Okay, then." She smiled even bigger. "Wow, you guys are like a big family of friends. Thank you for inviting me. I'll come."

  "Good," Yoongi said.

He turned back to Taehyung and hummed as he realized the vampire wasn't there now. It was only Jungkook and Jimin who were now glaring at Yoongi and his friends.

But then Jimin was suddenly standing up and walking towards Yoongi's table.

"Hyung," Yoongi tugged on Seokjin's shirt. Jin tilted his head at him, then turned to look up at Jimin, who was nearly at the table.

"Well hello, my besties." Jimin took a seat right next to Hoseok, who frowned in return. Jungkook sat next to Namjoon, who was sitting next to Hoseok. It felt so odd to Yoongi to have the two sitting at their table. "I heard we're having a little party at Yoongi's?

Seokjin leaned over the table and narrowed his eyes. "Nobody invited you, Park."

Kwan had her eyes wide open, clearly fearing the weird, mysterious group of friends. Everyone in the school knew how odd they were, so it's no secret as to why he's so curious and surprised right now as Jimin and Jungkook take their seats and chat.

"I'm inviting myself, babe." Jimin smirked, "Is that not valid or do I need more?"

Namjoon wrapped his arm around Hoseok. "This isn't a party," he said, "and even if it was, you would never be invited." Yoongi raised his eyebrows as Namjoon suddenly took charge. What Seokjin said to him must've made him change a little. "Go away, Jimin."

"I-It's fine if— if they want to come," Kwan stuttered. Seokjin's head snapped to her. "I don't want to be the reason that you guys don't hang out. Don't mind me," she said.

"See!" Jimin smiled. "Even she wants us there. Why don't you invite us, Yoongi?"

Yoongi frowned. "I don't want you near me anymore," he said, which sort of made Jimin grimace at him. "Taehyung is no longer a problem, so kindly piss off." He sipped his bottle of water. Seokjin was smiling at him so wide, but Jimin had scoffed.

"Yoongi..." Jungkook spoke up. "I love pasta. We got off to a bad start. Why don't you just let us try and fix that?" he asked, and Yoongi wished that his big doe eyes weren't so cute. He wished that he could say no, but Jungkook barely ever talks and it feels like Yoongi is wasting the boy's energy if he says no.

"I don't have to," he sighed. "But since you asked so kindly, only you can come."

Jungkook smiled, but Jimin scoffed yet again. "So cruel to me, Yoongi." He sighed to himself as he rested his chin in his palm. "Fine, I'm sorry. We did get off to a bad start, and I want to make that right as well. Now can I please come eat your stupid pasta?"

It sounded a lot nicer, at least, but Seokjin was gripping too tightly onto Yoongi's arm that it was starting to hurt.

"I appreciate that you asked so kindly," Yoongi said honestly. "But I am no longer friends with Taehyung. You can hang up the act and leave me alone, now." He picked up his drink once again and chugged it. "Have a nice day, really." His eyes met Jimin's, and he could see that Jimin and Hoseok were now frowning, confused by Yoongi.

"Not friends?" Hoseok asked. "After everything we went through last night?"

Yoongi nodded. "And frankly, I don't want to be bothered by his friends anymore." He looked back to Jungkook, then to Jimin. "You can leave me alone. I won't do anything."

Jimin stood up abruptly. "That fucker," he rasped. "I thought he was mad at us because we were so rude to you. Why the hell did he leave the table? What do you mean you're not friends? What did you do?" He was directing his anger to Yoongi, but Yoongi was quick to furrow his eyebrows in annoyance.

"I did nothing, thank you very much," he stated, voice stern and certain. "You're making my friend uncomfortable." He put his hand on Kwan's to assure her that they're okay.

Jimin seemed to not like that.

"Fucking fine," he growled. He walked out of the cafeteria, but this tie Jungkook didn't follow behind. Jungkook looked at Yoongi, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

"It was nice to meet you, Kwan," he muttered quietly. "Sorry we bothered you, Yoongi." Then he stood up and walked out of the door.

Hoseok sighed as he stared at the table. "You and Taehyung aren't friends?"

Yoongi shook his head and took his hand away from Kwan's. "I don't want to talk about that right now," he said. "I want to have fun and cook pasta tonight. Right, Kwan?" He smiled reassuringly to her, earning a weak smile in return. "Hyung and I will cook."

But even Seokjin was looking worriedly at Yoongi, probably also wondering why he and Taehyung were no longer friends.

  "Right," Seokjin agreed.
