George skated to school, his chest bubbling with excitement- he had never been exited to go to school before- it felt odd. A smile was plastered to his face for the entire time, as he kept re reading his brief conversation with Alex. He didn't know why this was such a big deal to him, but he went along with it. The ripe sun in the sky matched his mood, and the cloudless blue sky almost made it a cinematically perfect day.

He soon arrived at the school gates and kicked up his skateboard, placing it behind his back, and in between his backpack. He approached will, Stephen, and josh- George began to feel a pressure on his chest, this was the first time he had seen Will after his revelation. He took a deep breath and swaggered over. "Alright George." Stephen drawled as he learnt against the rundown wall. "Yeah mate." George said quickly, trying to act normal while Will was smiling smugly at him. "What's up with you will." Josh pointed out, "nothing, nothing." He swiftly replied tearing his glance away from George.

"George!" A familiar voice called our from behind him. The boy felt himself once again tense up and his breath hitched. He span around and was greeted with the sight of Alex in a large pink hoodie and white jeans, with pink vans on. George took a moment to take it in, dumbfounded by his beauty, "h- hey." He stuttered as he realised how close Alex had gotten to him and he still hadn't replied. "Still up for sitting with me? That annoying girl is still in so you will have to tell her to move." He warned, as George collected himself and found the right words. "Uh y- yeah, sure I don't mind." He mumbled. "Are you ok georgie?" He pondered, concerned. Georgie. His heart seemingly stopped for a few moments as he attempted to string together a sentence. "Oh I'm sorry do you not like being called Georgie?" He asked kindly, why is he so nice? George thought to himself. "No!" He started a little too loudly "n- no it's fine, I don't mind." He spoke quickly, and in a quieter tone. "Ok then Georgie." The taller boy smiled, "I gotta head to  tutor, see you- uhh..." he pulled out his timetable, "oh!" He exclaimed, "period one. Bye!" He called out half way down the corridor. George, who was rendered mute, simply waved and uttered bye. How is he so beautiful.

"Hey, George." Mia called out from the other side of tutor, do you wanna come to my party tonight, I already asked will and all that. And literally like a thousand people." She laughed. George wasn't the biggest fan of parties, he liked the fact that it meant that he would hang out with a ton of people, but to be honest, he wasn't actually as social as people thought. But then he thought, "uh- Mia? Is Alex coming? Alex elmslie?" He asked, trying not to sound so eager. Will smiled knowingly his way earning a confused look from Mia. "Oh isn't that the kid who wears pink, he isn't but I'll invite him if you want, he sounds pretty cool." She shrugged earnestly. "Oh- uh yeah that would be cool. I'll go." He sighed in relief.

Mia made her way to find Alex swiftly just before their tutor came, and eventually found his tutor room in the English block. She peaked through the small glass window to make sure their tutor hadn't came yet, and once she was sure the coast was clear, she headed in. "Hey Mia." Multiple people said, as she was pretty popular, and most people knew her. "Uh, your Alex right?" She said gesturing you the boy in pink. "Uh, yeah, why." He said puzzled. "Wanna come to my party tonight? You can bring someone if you want." She said as she rolled her eyes at James. "Oh, no thank you, we aren't the partying type are we alex." James replied for him. "Shut up James, who's going." He asked curiously. "Uh, I dunno, George." She suggested, sure that this would make him want to go. "O-oh George, yeah I'll go." He said almost robotically. "Nice, see you there." She smiled as she turned on her heels and strolled out.

"Wait what!?" Someone spoke out from the now silent tutor. "How come you got invited, only cool people get to go like George and Tom, and all that." He shouted from the other side of the classroom. Nods and mumbled of agreement scattered around the sea of students before Alex spoke up, "oh- well I'm friends with George." He calmly mentioned, kind of enjoying this. "No your not." Another kid abruptly commented. "I am, look." He said bringing out his phone, he didn't show them his snapchat messages, as he had changed his name to "georgie🥺💕" but he instead showed his Instagram massages. "Why is he friends with you, your such a queer." A boy with blonde hair sneered. "That's exactly why he isn't friends with you." Alex remarked at the mean comment. The other boy shut up and slumped into his seat, filled with jealously. Alex has had many years of defending himself from bullies, until eventually they gave up because they realised they weren't doing anything to him.

"Your not seriously going to that party." James scoffed, as the rooms noise level went up loud enough so that no one could single out their conversation. "Yeah, I'm friends with George, why wouldn't I." He shrugged. James looked disgusted, "George! He is such a dickhead, he's probably just messing with you or just talking to you for a dare or something." He suggested. "How would you know, he's really nice, come to the party and you will see." He pleaded. "Fine, but why would he be nice to me, everyone hates me I'm a prefect." He spat, he had a point. "Well that's your own fault but if you come you can prove that your not just a prefect twat." He laughed, James on the other hand, didn't look impressed. "Fine," he mumbled I'll come."

After a long tutor, Alex squeezes out of the classroom door in a stream of students all rushing down the corridor like a river. He found his English classroom, which was ideally only a couple of doors down from his tutor. He waited for the crowd of students to clear and spotted George wandering, hands in pockets, towards the class. "George!" Alex called over, instantly getting his attention. "Al!" He smiled wandering over to him. "You alright, you seemed a bit off this morning." He asked, concerned. "Yeah I'm good." George said sincerely as their teacher unlocked the door and they flooded into the classroom.

"Oh god look, Paige is there." George groaned, not even trying to cover the spite in his voice. "Oh yeah, your going to have to convince her to move." Alex stated, anxious he won't be able to sit with George. "Yeah don't worry I'll sort it." He said as he strode over to her. "Hey George." She said a little too eagerly, adjusting her posture. "Um, hi- could Alex sit where you sit- and like, maybe you could swap seats with Alex?" He asked, shyly which was out of character for him. "Oh, yeah, fine..." she said coldly, clearly jealous as she shot daggers at Alex. "Oof." Alex exclaimed as he walked over to sit in her spot as she glared at him. She flipped her hair as she turned away and began talking to the other girl that had just witnessed her getting kicked out of her space by Alex Elmslie. I really need to up my game. She thought as she glanced at the two boys happily conversing, a little too close to each other.

Suddenly, the door opened- Beth. "Hi." She said dully to George, her boyfriend. "Oh, hey." He mumbled, not even trying to sound remotely happy. "Look, George I don't think this is working out- can we talk about this later?" She requested. "Yeah, I agree- we should still be friends though, yeah?" He asked, "yeah, we should," She smiled, "meet me outside the art block at break." She said before walking off.

"Oh- uh- George are you ok?" Alex asked, concerned- yet puzzled at the lack of emotion on the boys face. "Yeah, I have been meaning to break up with her for ages." He spoke quietly, with the intent of hiding from any students prying, trying to find the latest gossip. "Oh!" Alex responded automatically sounding too happy. He coughed and toned down his voice, hoping he didn't give anything away to George. "S- so how comes you want to break up?" He queried, trying to find out if he had a chance. "Like, do you like someone else, or-" he said, dragging the 'or'. Alex instantly noticed George's delicate face glowing red as soon as he asked, causing him to furrow his eye brows. "Uh- I- well- kind of." He stuttered, looking down. Why is he so embarrassed? Alex thought, but shrugged it off. He would never like me back, I don't think I can stand any longer, George thought as he accidentally caught Alex's gaze with his own and felt his face go even redder. "O- oh? You like someone else?" Alex pried, attempting to make George think he hadn't noticed that he had gone red. "Y- yeah." The shorter boy mumbled, barely audible. "Could I ask who?" Alex said cautiously- he didn't know why he had his hopes up, George was straight- and even if it was him, he wouldn't just say that. "Uh- it's some girl- you don't know her." He disclosed, from the top of his head. He hoped Alex didn't notice that he was lying- why couldn't he just tell him how he felt? Oh, that's right. Because Alex would never like him. Who would...

。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆

A girl. Alex thought. Why had he gotten his hopes up. He knew George was straight, and liking him just felt wrong. But he couldn't help it.
