!Prologue!
•*Third Person*•
[Y/n]'s eyes fluttered open, revealing her dull [e/c] orbs.
She rubbed her aching forehead with her hand, sitting up in the bed within in seconds of realizing she was ... alive?
Didn't she die?
Wait... what time is it? She went to pull her phone out from under her white pillow, even though it wasn't there. She searched around for a clock, a dull one hanging from the wall reading 9:52.
So... was that all a dream?
It must have been. Considering she was still in bed and her hair was a hot mess. She pulled herself up off the bed, heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth, then hair.
But then she realized; this was a hospital. She looked down at her arm, seeing a needle pushed into her vein, inserting medicine into her blood pressure stream. She stared at it blankly, before looking down at her skinny legs. Her hair hung over her face, considering that it had grown so much.
How long had it been? What was the date?
She glanced around, confusion overwhelming her pounding head. She wasn't sure what was happening.
"[Y/n]?" A nurse called, as she pushed through the doors. The nurse gasped as she saw she was awake and moving. "[Y/N]! You are awake!" She raced toward [Y/n], as she gently pushed her back down on the bed.
"Hold on. I must check your blood pressure and heart rate just in case." The nurse hummed as she pulled multiple fancy tools and such from drawers. [Y/N] sat there blankly, not sure what to think.
She checked [Y/n] twice, making sure she was okay and could move without upsetting her currently weak body.
Once the nurse was done, she turned to [Y/n].
"I shall be right back. You cannot push yourself to walk if you don't feel good, alright? Take it easy." The nurse called as she stepped out of the door.
Moments later, she came back with another person. This person was a man, the doctor. He took some of [Y/n]'s blood and ran quick tests, coming back to the room with a huge smile.
"[Y/n]! Good news. You'll be able to go home in about three hours. Your mom is on her way." He went to exit the room before turning around, and pointed at a bouquet of flowers. "She brought flowers for you almost everyday, surprisingly, which is impressive."
[Y/n] furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, and went to speak before he left, her voice croaky.
"Didn't I... die?" She asked in a short sentence, her throat extremely soar.
"You did. But by some miracle, you came back alive. It's happened to people before. One little boy passed away before, when they were having a funeral and they were about to bury him, the boy sat up and said,"Mommy, can I have some water?" Then laid back down and died. There have been multiple stories of others dying and coming back to life."
"But wasn't there a... funeral?" She asked once more, to which the doctor answered with a sad smile.
"No. You must've been dreaming. But there was a funeral for your friend, Luna. She committed suicide, and by the time we made it to her, her heart had stopped beating. She's up in a better place now, [Y/n]." The doctor nodded, before exiting the room.
[Y/n]'s eyes dulled, as she remembered what all happened. She could remember just barely anything before the car crash. There was a tall man, who wanted her to stay with him. But what was his name...?
The door clicked open once more to show [Y/n]'s mom, in tears. She ran straight toward her, grasping her in a tight hug. It took a moment for [Y/n] to lift her currently weak arms to return the hug.
Her mom pulled away and stared at her happily.
"You're okay! I waited so long, my hope was dying slowly. I cried every night, blaming myself." She spoke, her voice cracking.
[Y/n] gave her a sad smile, before nodding. She couldn't really speak. Her throat was too soar.
Even if she had forgotten a few things, something tugged at the back of her head.
She could remember so many faces and names, but...
Who were they?
