No Greater Thrill
Funny to think how much anxious anticipation,
Tremendous, trembling trepidation,
Yet itching excitement and expectation,
I built up in my mind about zip wire Velocity,
Making it into both an adventure and monotonicity.
Yet nothing could beat that feeling of being able to fly,
Buoyant and happy, in more than one way high,
Zipping soundly across the bright blue sky,
That memorable dizzy sensation,
Of pure addictive exhilaration.
As I zoomed over picturesque Penrhyn Quarry,
Nothing about my body or mind was sorry,
My eyes feasted on the glistening blue lake and view, a Welsh safari,
Savouring that feeling of elation,
Relishing the adrenaline infiltration.
Nothing has ever been quite so carefree and serene,
Than gliding and surveying the calming sunny scene,
Letting go of everything that's come before,
Racing across, allowing my spirit to soar,
And there's something tantalizingly terrifying about surrendering at will,
Placing trust and my safety in some else, no other choice but to chill,
Relinquishing control, truly, there's no greater thrill.
