S O P H I A
I knew it was a mistake coming up here. I would have rather stayed downstairs, trampled between a crowd of teenagers.
But overall, it was a mistake moving here.
He was worse than every single judgemental person combined. He had a face of an angel, but the heart of a devil. He was like a tsunami, beautiful but destructive.
I couldn't blame anyone for liking him, seeming as though he was so handsome with his irresistible smile. He seemed to have something in him that made him believable. Maybe it was his looks. Maybe it was the way he made me feel special amongst everyone else.
I felt sick all over again. His presence was nothing more than a visit from satan himself.
His eyes continued to rake across my whole body, taking me in. I felt uncomfortable under his stare, especially with the girl standing right beside him.
He clicks his tongue and slowly shakes his head.
"You really thought you could escape from me, Soph?"
I close my eyes at the mention of the nickname he would use. The vast memory of what he did to me was still etched in my mind, as the events that occurred was an instant replay in my head.
"That's funny, Parker. After what you did to me, I had no other choice."
His smirk drops and turns into a scowl. I knew I was getting to him. He didn't want the girl next to him to know what he really did to me...what he was really like.
"Don't start bullshitting me, Soph. Everyone knows you made it all up for attention. Seeing as though you're an attention whore."
His words angered me, almost preventing me from staying put. I was not going to let him ruin me again.
"So what do assholes like you do, then? Use girls to their advantage until you're satisfied? That's probably why you're so well kn-"
My mind couldn't comprehend how fast it all happened. One minute, he was standing a few good metres away from me, the next he had his hand securely wrapped around my neck.
He pushes me backwards, banging my head painfully against the wall. I groan in pain and anger, but once he tightens his hand around me even tighter, I begin to struggle.
That was all it took for the girl to escape. She eventually found out the hard way.
It felt like everything was closing within me, preventing me from breathing any further. The more I tried to obtain some air, the more painful the outcome was.
I grabbed onto his arm and looked up. His eyes had changed into a more darker shade, obscuring his true colour. He was turning a shade of red from his fast breathing, exceeding at a rapid pace.
I heave in again as a choking sound escapes my mouth, my painful cries only satisfying him.
"Listen here. If you tell anyone about what happened, you won't know the end of it. And before you can even comprehend what's happening, you'll already be dead at my feet, with no warnings whatsoever. Got it?" He snarls and pushes my head deeper in the wall.
It was all too much. My throat and chest was burning. I couldn't handle it anymore as my eyes started to close at their own accord. My choking noises were getting progressively louder, everything fading away before my eyes.
He finally loosens his grip on my throat as I drop to the ground. I try catching my breath, my gasps echoing across the hallway.
A finger slides under my chin, lifting my head in the process.
Parker's face comes into view, his smirk covering every trace of what he just did.
"I'm not only all ears, princess. I'm also all eyes." He whispers, finally letting my head drop down.
I close my eyes and lean against the wall, hearing his footsteps finally leave. They become progressively quieter as all that was heard was my ragged breathing, trying to take in the amount of air I had lost.
It was all too much to bear. He was on to me again, just like he was before everything happened.
My surroundings become nothing more than a blur as everything around me faded away. The only thing left was the darkness, overtaking my senses.

I didn't know how long I had been out for, or how I had ended up here.
The only thing that was prancing around in my brain was that I was alive.
My eyes slowly open to their own accord. The first thing I realised was complete whiteness overtaking the room that I was in.
The walls, the floors and the ceiling were all white, accentuating a hospital room. I was clearly occupying one of the beds, snuggled underneath some more white blankets.
The smell of disinfectant overtook my senses. The rushing and cluttering of patients and doctors were occupied outside of the room, adding to the vast headache I had.
My throat begins to painfully choke me again.
I try screaming out but that only made it worse for me. The pain was unbearable, blocking my air supply and I struggled to breathe.
As I continued to thrash around, I didn't realise someone rush to me for assistance.
"Sophia. Sophia! It's okay. It's okay." The person hugs me close to their chest, rocking me slowly and relaxing my nerves.
My struggles finally bite down as I breathe a sigh of relief, careful not to use my voice or breathe in too much.
The person continues to shh me as they massage my head, tangling their fingers in my hair.
I finally come back to realisation and move away. The face belonged to none other than the girl who Caleb had taken care of at the party. The one who I had bumped into.
"You okay, sweetie?" She was so much more different than the person I had bumped into at the party. She looked more sober and fresh, her beautiful hair cascading down her face, acting as a cover against her face. She looked so much like Caleb. It wasn't hard to distinguish their similarities.
How did she even know I was here?
"What happened?" I cough a little as my throat tickles, awaiting her response.
Her face looks surprised as I ask her my question.
"You don't remember what happened?" She quietly addresses.
Her point puts me on edge. The only thing I remembered was the party and bumping into her, with Caleb following straight after.
"I don't think so. How did I end up here?"
The girl plays with her fingers, stress evident on her face. It was like she was hiding something that I shouldn't know about.
She finally sighs and gives in.
"We found you unconscious on the ground near your door. We thought you were dead but you were still breathing. Barely breathing."
I didn't understand what could have happened for me to wake up in a hospital room.
"What...happened to me?"
She bites her lip and lowers her head.
"No one knows yet. You were the only one up there."
The outcome of this all was slightly terrifying me. The only thing that was wrong with me was my throat, which felt like it was about to explode.
I look her in the eyes and address my next question slowly and steadily.
"Who found me up there?"
My question gets her attention rather quickly. Her head shoots up towards me, her eyes slightly widening.
Her answer did nothing more than chill my bones.
"Caleb."
