Uta grabbed his sunglasses and his beanie before he walked towards you, you were so exited to go outside after such a long time, he placed the key in the keyhole and slowly unlocked the door, your heartbeat was crazily fast but then he stopped and looked at you with serious eyes

“Just to make something clear…if you should run or scream I will…” you shook your head and looked at him with pleading eyes

“I won´t! I promise!” he could hear your heartbeat loud and clear which confirmed that you were not lying

“Remember… if you try anything this will be the last time…” you swallowed

“I promise that I won´t try anything, I would do anything just to go outside with you” he could hear the sad undertone in your voice and then he turned the key around opening the door.

Sunlight shined in your face as you stepped outside, the sky was crystal clear and so beautiful not a single cloud was in sight, a bright smile formed on your lips that was priceless

“Wow… it´s so beautiful... the sky is so clear it almost looks like the ocean “ Uta observed you closely, he smiled to himself how happy it made you to stand outside, he locked the door behind himself.

“Stay close to me and don´t wander off on your own” he ordered and you nodded without complaining, you were curious where you headed and what was in the bag he carried with him

“Where are we going?” you asked carefully

“I have to make an delivery to a customer” you nodded understanding what was in the bag

“I see, do you always deliver your masks personally?” Uta hummed

“Depends, but this one is a special customer that´s why I deliver it personally” you were curious who this special customer was…

“Can I ask something else?” he nodded

“What is it?”

“Why do ghouls wear masks?” he looked at you confused

“Why do you want to know?” You looked down on the ground with shaking eyes

“I… don´t know myself... I guess I´m just curious” he took a deep breath and then started explaining  

“It´s because.. we have no other choice but to hide ourselves from the doves” your eyes looked up to his face as he continued

 “The doves hunt us and will continue to hunt us forever until we are exterminated from this world”

“B-But why??” he looked at your confused face through the empty space on the side of his sunglasses

“You can say that we not really exist in the first place neither do we have real names in the human world because the only names we have are codenames given to us from the doves, but that is something you don´t have to worry about” his words really hurt you deep down, you knew damn well how you were treated by ghouls before and that your parents were brutally murdered by them but still Uta was different in your eyes, even if you knew nothing about him you had the feeling that he had no evil intentions, he was kind to you and cured you after he freed you from hell, you were grateful to him and deep in his debt.

You reached the destination that was a coffee shop called “Anteiku” Uta walked in the front door and a purple haired girl welcomed him warmly

“Uta! It´s nice to see you it´s been a while” Touka smiled

“Hey Touka nice to see you to, you grown even prettier since I last saw you” he smiled back and removed his sunglasses, Touka blushed lightly and then her eyes detected you standing behind Uta

“W-Who is that?” she asked curious as the scent of human blood reached her nose, Uta stepped aside and introduced you

“This is (first name) she is living at my place” Touka´s face looked shocked and a little angry, Irimi placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down and smiled warmly at you

“Nice to meet you (first name), my name is Irimi and this is Touka” you nodded smiling back shyly

“N-Nice to meet you to” Touka gave you a strange stare and shook off Irimi´s hand before she walked away, you got the impression that she disliked you for some reason and it saddened you

“Is the manager in?” Uta asked

“He is upstairs” Irimi smiled

“Thanks,  Irimi could you make a coffee for her while I have a word with the old man?” she nodded

“Sure, leave her to me” he nodded and looked at you

“I´ll be back in a bit, Irimi will take care of you” he gave you a weak smile because he noticed your nervousness

“And don´t worry about Touka, she is just shy” you nodded and tried to cheer up, he climbed the stairs and you walked over to the counter taking a seat.

“Here you go sweetheart” she placed a cup of coffee in front of you and you smiled shyly

“Thank you Irimi-san” she chuckled lightly

“Just call me Irimi” you nodded and cupped your hands on the warm cup

“So how old are you dear?”

“I´m (age)” she smiled

“Still pretty young, you have all your live ahead of you” you smiled weakly

“Yeah..”

“You have interesting eyes, have you ever noticed that your right eye has a small black dot around the iris and the left one doesn´t?” you were surprised how well she had studied your features

“N-No I never noticed…” she chuckled and handed you a small pocket mirror

“Here see for yourself” you took the mirror and brought it closer to your (eye color) eyes and checked it, she was right there was really a black dot around the iris

“Your right there really is a black dot there…” she smiled

“See, your special I bet your parents must be really proud to have such a pretty girl” your smile suddenly faded and you lied the mirror back on the counter

“Yes… they probably would be..” she noticed your expression and apologized

“Omg.. I´m sorry, I did not mean to intrude your personal life..” you shook your head

“It´s ok, don´t worry I´m ok” it was silent for moment until a men entered the room

“Oh Kaneki your back already?” Irimi asked as a black haired guy with an eyepatch walked in

“Yeah” he replied and then his eyes noticed you, his expression changed

“Who is this?” he asked with a serious voice, his nose noticed immediately that you were a human

“Kaneki this is-“ he cut Irimi off

“What does someone like you do here? You shouldn´t be her- “ your eyes widened in fear

“Kaneki!” Irimi cut him off angrily, he stared at you once more before he turned around and run upstairs

 “Who is he?” you asked curious

“This a newbie, his name is Kaneki Ken, he used to be human to not long ago” you looked at Irimi confused

“W-What? He used to be human? Is he a ghoul now?” she nodded

“Yeah, there was an accident that changed his life..” you were speechless you never thought that this was possible, you knew from your father that ghouls were born and could not be made but this was crazy, if he used to be a human before that means he was made into a ghoul

“T-That´s impossible… humans can´t become ghouls…was it all a lie?” you uttered to yourself and Irimi looked confused , she wanted to say something but then the door opened once again and Uta walked down with the manager

“Yoshimura, this is (first name) whom I told you about” an old man with white silver hair walked towards you and shake your hand, his eyes were shut

“It´s nice to meet you young lady, Uta told me a lot about you, you are welcome to visit our coffee shop at anytime” you nodded nervously

“T-Thank you Yoshimura-san” he smiled and let go off your hand

“Visit us again soon will you Uta” Uta nodded

“I will” he grabbed his sunglasses and walked towards the door with you, on the way back it was quiet you had no idea what to talk, the words from Irimi were still in your head that this Kaneki person was once a human, Uta noticed your absence and broke the silence

“Are you alright?” you nodded

“Yeah, I´m fine”

“Did Irimi say anything strange?” you shook your head

“No it´s nothing…” he continued walking and you looked up to him, you were curious about him since he never told you anything about himself, he was always wearing a beanie and sunglasses when he went outside, was it because of this codename thing he mentioned earlier today?

“Hey… can I ask you something?” he nodded

“You sure ask a lot today, what is it?” you bit your lips nervously

“You told me that the doves gave you codenames… right? ” he nodded

“Does that really bother you that much what I said earlier?” you nodded shyly

“Yes… I want to know more about you” Uta suddenly felt this sharp pain in his chest again and he had to grip his shirt, you noticed the silence and thought you crossed the line again because he did not reply, you soon reached his place and he put the key in the keyhole unlocking it slowly

“It´s no face” he said all over sudden making you look at him in confusion, he removed his sunglasses and looked straight into your eyes

“The name the doves gave me is no face”.
