Twenty-Seven: Gender Reveal(rewritten)

The ultrasound went fine. The baby's heartbeat was strong and healthy. It was crazy to think about the fact that I was growing a tiny person in there. I couldn't wait to find out if it was a boy or a girl. I had to wait two agonizingly long days because we were driving and Jack didn't have anything yet.
Jack decided that I needed to be off the bus in order for him to get everything ready for my gender reveal "party" so Leo took me out to lunch. We went for Chinese. Which turned out to be a huge mistake because baby did not like it. It sucked too because the beef and broccoli I ordered was really good. When I got back to the table Leo was on the phone.
"I'm not sure. Maybe. We haven't really discussed it yet. She does." That's when he noticed me. He smiled. "Yeah. Sure." I grew very curious as to who he was talking too. "Yeah. I need to go too. Yeah."
"Who was that?" I asked.
"Zack. Are you ready to leave? We can't go back to the bus yet, but I'm sure we could find something else to do to kill some time."
"Sounds good." We cleaned our trash off the table and left. We hadn't made it very far when I decided I wanted a picture of the two of us. I didn't have any.
"Let's take a selfie." I said and stopped walking.
"Sure." I pulled my phone out and opened the camera. Being almost a foot shorter than Leo I couldn't find a way to hold the camera so that we were both on the camera instead of the top of my head and Leo or me and Leo's chin.
"You could help, you know." I said. He smiled and took my phone from me. Then he put his head beside mine and took the picture.
"Thank you."
"No problem." He pulled his phone out and looked at. "They're ready." I was bouncing and giggling the entire way back to the bus. When got there Jack opened the door and let us in. He was smiling wide. He grabbed my hand and drug me to the table. Sitting on the table was a simple brown bag. He made me sit down and then pushed the bag in front of me. I looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back. I reached into the bag and pulled out something soft wrapped in pink and blue tissue paper. They were all watching, anticipating it just as much as I was. Jack had his phone out recording. I started to unwrap the paper. Inside was a purple onesie, that said I brighten Mommy's days and ruin her nights in sparkly pink letters, and a white tutu. I gasped and looked up at Jack.
"I'm having a girl?!" He nodded and grinned, "Oh my God!" I squeaked and put my hands over my mouth. I looked down at my belly and gently rubbed it with one hand. "Love you, Baby girl." I whispered.
"Ok now we have something else to show you. Close your eyes." I did as he asked. Alex grabbed my hands and pulled up away from the table. He led me to the back of the bus and let go of my hands. "Open." I opened my eyes and smiled.
"You guys." The entire back of the bus was decorated with pink balloons and a sign that said It's A Girl. Gift bags sat all over the place and two packages of mini cupcakes with pink frosting.
"It's not much, but you don't have anything for the baby so we all got you a few things." Alex said giving me a side hug. I felt tears in my eyes and quickly wiped them away.
"I'm gonna cry."
"Oh. Here." Jack handed me the stack of sonogram pictures from the ultrasound.
"My baby girl." I whispered and gently ran my fingers of the top picture. You could see her face so clearly. It was amazing. And I couldn't wait to hold her in my arms. After opening the gifts and eating two cupcakes apiece Zack and Rian went for a run and Alex and I painted each other's nails while Leo took a nap and Jack played video games.
