Bound

For a while Rebecca couldn't take her eyes off the woman who has claimed Sara's heart. She's completely baffled by the uncanny resemblance they share. How in the world could they look so much alike? Even twins don't look as much as the other. They're not twins. She doesn't think they are, because if it was that simple Sara could have put the idea out there.

"What kind of bullshit is this?" She turned her frustration and confusion at Sara.

"I can explain. And I will, I promise. I just have to deal with this." Sara replied, holding her hand reassuring them both.

That was some fucked up shit the universe was throwing at Sara. And she knows how complicated things would be now that Nyssa had shown up. She has missed her, but shit the timing. She just had a wonderful night with Rebecca and Rebecca had just told her she loves her; then the original version of her that she knows Sara has always and still loves shows up.

"You have to go. I will call this in. I'll take care of this. Go to my place."

Sara was surprised at the sudden calmness in Rebecca's tone.

"No, it's okay. I have some place we could go to."

Rebecca pulled her close to her, using their closeness to calm herself, and not caring about Nyssa's presence in the room.

"Take my keys and go to my apartment, so I know you're safe and I know where to find you. This is shit. Total fucking bullshit. But I still mean what I said last night. So please don't fight me on this."

It hurt to finally know the reason why Sara looks at her the way she does; why she seemed to always care so much. And have that reason show up at their doorstep, it's painful especially after her confession of love and the night they had shared. Sara was clear that she will get hurt, but damn, she already loves her. She might have to fight her own doubts, but she won't give up that easily.

"Okay." Sara obliged. "Wait there," she then said to Nyssa as she went to the bedroom to get some clothes on, leaving her with Rebecca.

"This is strange for me as it is for you." Nyssa addressed the awkwardness in the room.

"But you're not as surprised to see me as I am of you." Rebecca shot back.

"It doesn't make it any less strange."

"Here." Sara handed Rebecca the rest of her clothes, interrupting the stare-off the two were having. "I'm sorry about this."

"Go. I'll see you when I'm done here."

Rebecca watched as Sara left the apartment with Nyssa. It felt like she was watching herself with her, yet watching someone else entirely. It was crazy and unreal. Everything she has known about Sara wasn't exactly what could be categorized as normal, but she has a feeling that whatever else Sara would tell her about Nyssa and the rest of her life is in a completely different category of unusual.

Sara and Nyssa got to Rebecca's apartment without any word to each other. They hadn't seen each other since that day in Nyssa's cell, before she got recruited to the Legends. She had told her to leave that place and never come back. She had gone. She had gone to the farthest place one could only imagine, and she wasn't expecting to see Nyssa again.

"It just had to be you." Sara finally said, breaking the silence, with much disdain than she had intended.

"I didn't exactly volunteer myself here." Nyssa didn't even bother to mask the hurt and disappointment in her response.

"I didn't mean it like that." Of course, she didn't. It wasn't that she didn't want to see her; she sees her all the time in Rebecca, and she misses her as much; but the timing of it all just sucks. She preferred that she was able to tell Rebecca more about her first than having Nyssa show up out of the blue announcing that there's an iceberg of the strangest things she has yet to know.

"I did miss you. And I should have come and find you before I left."

"But you didn't, because you already felt that there was nothing left for you there."

"Yes and no. I did feel like there was nothing else left for me and I needed an escape, a new start. And I knew I wouldn't have gone if I had seen you again, so I didn't."

Silence set in between them once more, but this time there was no tension, just understanding. Sara had let go of her frustration with the situation. She can't do anything else about it than to simply deal with it anyway.

"So, why are you here?"

"Your friends need your help."

"I haven't been gone a year, and they already got themselves caught up in something they can't get out of?"

"I don't exactly know the specifics other than your friends are lost in time."

"You mean the Legends? Why come all the way here to find me? What about Barry and Cisco?"

"They tried. Your friend Barry got lost as well. Cisco has been trying to find you, but he couldn't do what he does properly."

"He couldn't vibe me. That's why they came to you?"

"Felicity thought I was their best chance of finding you. And Oliver was with your speedster friend."

What kind of catastrophe had they gotten themselves into? The Legends lost in time. No Barry. No Oliver. They didn't just need a time traveller. They need someone to take charge of the mission. Damn. It would have been great if there was still the Time Bureau to help them out. But that was another long story to get into.

"How long have you been looking for me?"

"2 weeks. I took my chances and looked for her, then I heard about Ta-er al Sahfer. I knew that can't be a coincidence."

"You think I came looking for you here?" Sara asked, unsure of what to think and feel that Nyssa knew to find her was to find that earth's version of herself.

"No. You and I are bound to each other, my love. I knew that the moment I laid eyes on you and still believe it to be true. Wherever you may be, a part or let's say a version of me will always find its way to you; to love you and care for you."

Sara knew that to be true as well. Nyssa's the one she would always love. The one she would and always could go back to. She has her reasons why she didn't, but look at where they are again; standing in front of the other. Who could ever deny the connection they have? It's beautiful and strong, and has withstood the tests of time. But should they be together?

Feeling the tension and frustration in Sara, Nyssa did the only thing she knew she could to ease them away. She walked a few steps behind Sara, pulled her close, then wrapped her in her embrace. The instant Sara felt her body close to Nyssa's, she melted into her arms.

"I missed you. I really missed you, Nyssa." Sara let out her longing.

"And I am here. It's okay."

Without saying anything more than that, Sara knew what she meant. Nyssa knew how conflicted she must feel with her sudden arrival, and how much it complicates her relationship with Rebecca. She understands. She will understand for her.

"I'm not as stubborn and hot headed as I used to be."

"I know that." Sara leaned her head back against the crook of her neck, sinking further into her warm embrace.

"And that makes it even more difficult for you, because you love her too."

"I don't think I'd go that far. I care about her."

"You love her, Sara. I know you do, because I know how you love, and I know what it's like to be loved by you."

"Maybe it's because I see you when I look at her."

"You wouldn't be with her if it's just that. You were never about that. You always see through to the person's soul. You see the good even when they believe there isn't any. And you always bring out the best of them. You did that with me. And you're doing it with her."

Sara turned around to face her, tears brimming in her eyes. "Why are you okay with this?"

"I'm not, but I will be. I will be, because I love you. And I know that if you know how much it'd be hurting me, it'd break your heart, and that would break mine. And we have hurt each other so much already, I just can't anymore. So, it's okay. I'll be okay...for you."

Sara let her tears fall and wrapped her arms around Nyssa. She relished at the undeniable warmth and comfort she felt of being able to hold her again; Nyssa; her Nyssa. How could she be more than the person she loves every time they meet again? And how could she not love her more for that each time?

Sara then heard the front door open when Rebecca arrived. She didn't want her moment with Nyssa to end. Just as much as she didn't want the one she had with Rebecca to end. She didn't quickly pull away as one who feels guilty would do. She felt guilty knowing that she would hurt one or the other or even both, but she doesn't have to show it.

"Go talk to her. I'm not going anywhere." Nyssa said, letting her go.

Sara walked into the living room with a couple of beers in hand. Rebecca was standing in the middle of the room, a little lost in her own thoughts.

"Here. You're gonna need this." Sara handed her a cold bottle, pulling Rebecca out of her reverie.

"So, are you gonna tell me the truth now?" It wasn't the way Rebecca wanted to start off the conversation, but she was so frustrated and confused she didn't care how harsh it must have sounded.

"I may not have told you everything, but I haven't lied to you. It's all so complicated and crazy. You may not believe it, but it's all true."

"Then what the hell is it now?"

"Okay. First, when I told you I'm not from here, I meant I'm not from this earth."

"You mean you're an alien?"

"No. I'm human, just not from this earth. You see, we live in a multiverse. Multiple earths exist vibrating in different frequencies."

"What?"

"Parallel universe. Alternate reality. All that mambo jumbo sci-fi shit. Hard to believe. But it's real and it's the truth."

"And she's also from wherever you were from?"

"Yes."

"Did you seek me out?"

Sara wasn't expecting that question right away. Again, Rebecca was surprising her with how well she was taking everything in; like she just trusts her word. Back to the question at hand, of course she would have asked it, because it makes a difference whether she did or not, despite everything else.

"No. I hadn't seen anyone I knew of in this earth since I had gotten here, so it wasn't really on my mind if I would. Then you walked into the bar. I never thought that you'd be the first familiar face I see. And it was nice and comforting that it was you."

"You mean her."

"I mean you. I do care about you, Rebecca."

"And now I know why."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't. Don't apologize for loving someone the way you do. We both didn't ask for this. It just happened. Apologize if you meant to hurt me or if this...if I mean nothing to you."

Sara wanted to cry, but she held it all back in. She was completely torn. She loves and is loved by two beautifully wonderful women, and she doesn't want to hurt either one. She has no idea what she should or would do, but there are far more important things to deal with at the moment aside from her incredibly bat shit crazy love life.

"Okay."

"Why is she here then? She here to get you back?"

"Nyssa's here because my team, my friends need my help. They're lost in time."

"Lost in time?"

"Well, I was the captain of a crew of Legends tasked to correct and save the timeline of our earth from being broken or disrupted. And I don't know exactly what yet, but something happened to them and now they're lost in god knows where or when. Some tried to go look for them, but ended up getting lost as well."

"You're a time traveler too."

"Yes, but I'm not going just yet."

"Your friends need you, Sara."

"But you need me here too."

"I can manage this."

"You don't even know what you're up against, Rebecca. Nyssa and I do."

Nyssa came into the room at the drop of her name. She knew right away what Sara was referring to. Ta-er al Sahfer was being hunted by the League, which means they're up against Ra's al Ghul.

"Is it him?" Nyssa asked.

"I don't know yet." Sara replied.

Rebecca remembered what Sara had said about the Ra's al Ghul she knew; he was Nyssa's father. Connecting all the given information, she came to the conclusion of what Sara had been worried about.

"You think if it's the same as your Ra's al Ghul, he could be my real father?"

"Yes, that's a possibility."

"That's why you've been acting off."

"I know I should have told you."

"How could you? This is a lot to explain; a lot to take in. And if I hadn't seen her, I don't know if I would have even considered believing your story, but right now it's the only thing that makes sense that could explain everything about you."

Why are they both so understanding at the moment? She would have felt better if one or even both of them lashed out at her about the situation they were in. That would have been easier to deal with, because it meant she did something wrong and that she could make it right; but how could she make right something that is not wrong. How do you tell what's wrong with loving two people at once? Is there something wrong with that at all? Love is love, isn't it? How could you deny it? How could you prevent it, when you are bound to love someone in any way? Damn. Not the time to sort through her feelings, but they're all she could care about.
