Mini-Chapter: Meetings

¨W-w-wait! A-Are you saying t-that the human c-could be in m-mortal danger!!??¨ Alphys exclaimed, uneasily. Undyne just told the scientist what this other human told her and it was confusing to the both of them. The lizard started to panic, knowing that with Sans hunting her down, the human would have no chance against him AND Asgore. Undyne felt the same way; although a little more confident than her companion. Well, more or less.

¨W-we have to d-d-do something! S-she could b-be in trouble!¨

¨Al, as much as I want to, we can't!¨

¨Well, w-why not?!!!¨

While this was playing along, the human guest watches as the two monsters argued. She didn't like the arguing. It was very irritating to her. Especially with so little time to bicker over it. She sighed and looked out the window; only to see an orange blurr, dart outside the window. Thinking it was an intruder, she excused herself from the two and went outside in search of the speeding figure.

A silent breeze flowed through the area and rustled the fabric covering her identity. The fresh dew from the grass, below her feet, shone its transparent hue. The sky was a peaceful night color with stars glittering down at the girl. She remembered what it was like, back on the Surface. The memory similar in environment. However, she had a friend with her. They would laugh and stare in awe at the beautiful orbs in the sky. They would joke about the stars; glaring at them for disturbing the peace of a summer night. The girl, still staring at the ceiling of Waterfall, smiled softly at the fond memory.

¨I don't understand how you like staring at fake stars.¨ A voice mumbled in a low tone, suddenly. She spun herself around and meeting the face of Doctor W.D. Gaster. She let out a sigh of relief; knowing it was just him.

¨You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. It's considered rude to humans.¨ the girl said, ignoring his comment. He scoffed softly and leaned up against the occupied wall. Gaster and this human have crossed paths during the many resets made by Frisk/Chara. Sometimes, trying to help the human without them knowing they were there. Even helping out each other, from time to time. This didn't mean they were all "buddy-buddy". While Gaster preferred plans with alternatives plan hidden inside, the girl usually made a simple yet adaptable plan with room to, creatively, come up with back-ups. They differed in thinking: one being more logical while the other more creative. One expressive, the other reserved. One who is more open-minded, the other extremely stubborn. Basically, you would expect them to be snarling at each other by now.

"How is this 'plan' going with the fish and Alphys?"

"Ugh. Not good. Alphys is just panicking and Undyne is 'trying' to calm her down. With this much talking, little time, and no plan..................." she sighed.

"You don't think not much will get done." Gaster stated, refusing to look at the hooded female. She nodded and let out another sigh.

"Did you see her, by any chance?" she asked, hopefully. Now, it was his turn to sigh; shaking his head for a 'no'. He left the human behind because he felt something off. An orange blurr catching his attention. Something about it made the emotionless skeleton................sad. So, wanting to find it, he left Lily to her own devices. After all, Doctor Alphys was watching her and making sure she was safe. So, it wouldn't hurt to do some detective work. Unfortunately, it brought him to Waterfall; specifically, to Undyne's house.

"So, what brings you here, anyways? Here to give me an answer to my problems?"

"That's for me to know." he stated, bluntly.

"Heh. Secretive, much?" she asked, sarcastically. "Look, I just need something from ya'. So, if you're not here to help, then just go. I have things handled here."

"Oh yes. Like watching those two bicker like a married couple is 'handling' things." She growled at him and glared at him. She didn't need this right now. All she wanted was to save Lily before it was too late. Then, she would have to watch another genocide run play out before her naked eyes. And, that was not fun.

"Look, I know we have our differences. Believe me, I would have wanted someone else to help me than you."

"And, likewise." Gaster commented.

"But, we both have the same goal: Having this stupid game end, once and for all. If you don't help, we may have to wait another dozen runs to try and stop this thing! SHE is the key to the end of all resets. The key to stop pain. The key.............." Before the determined girl could finish, a woman's voice spoke out. "To save our race."

Spinning around on their heels, the duo watch, in shock, as they saw who was before them: Queen Toriel Dreemurr.
