Mini Chapter: Believing (Part 2)
Third point of view:
After turning Papyrus into dust, Chara (disguised as Lily) leaves the house and the murder weapon behind. The plan wasn't just murder, it was false interpretation. For all they knew, Chara was dead and would not be the cause of a monster's death. Plus, there would be no apparent reason for a monster to commit the murder of another. So, the evidence would lead to the only suspect who had the capacity to do so: Lily. She was the only human in the Underground at the time of the murder.
'Easy target.' Chara thought to herself, smirking. I mean, why would she just wait for the next reset to happen to accomplish her goals? Why not do something about it? After all, framing the innocent is much more delicious than watching a willing human kill. She giggled at the thought. It was sweet to her, like candy. Just imagine what kind of outcome could occur if the monsters KILLED an innocent human? The thought of it made Chara giddy with excitement.
¨Well, might as well make more enemies for my dear 'friend'~! ¨ she cackled to herself and skipped away from the scene, dust flying off. The dust leading to the same path our hero took to Waterfall. Right on time, Sans walked by; looking around for his brother. He was getting extremely worried; Papyrus would never run off without telling him.
'that's unlike him.' Sans told himself, his hands in his pockets. Usually, he would be at his station or making more puzzles or training with Undyne. Man, he hoped that the last option was what happened. He looked to the house, smiling. His worries drifting away for a second. He still couldn't believe they got this far. Sans always felt that this was a dream and he, along with Papyrus, would still be in that cell. Still be tortured. Still.............with him.
He sneered in disgust, well, if he could. His sockets darkening into an abyss of anger. What they have been through, what they have experienced. Can NEVER be forgotten. He clenched his right hand and held it up slightly. There, behind the palm of his hand, was a metal plate screwed to him. It was a light metallic grey and it had the words:
WDG-1 S
He may have gotten everyone fooled, believing he never existed. But, Sans knew better. His 'seeing' has gotten better than those years ago. He remembers clearly what that psychotic man did. every. single. THING. He remembered all the times Papyrus would cry from all that torture that man did. He remembered every 'experiment' that was concocted in that insane mind. And yet, his brother, always found good in him. Others may see it as stupidity or just being naive, but, to Sans, it was something deeper. Papyrus was brave.
He was more brave than any monster around, even Undyne. He knew that even the worst person could change. He would always put others before himself, despite their treatment towards him. He'd try to make friends with everyone, even if it was risky. He chuckled and sighed. 'that's papyrus alright.' He's the brightest thing in the Underground. Who knows what Sans might have done if Papyrus would have......................
He shook his head and frowned. That won't happen. He knew it. The kid would never even think of..............................
He froze, his eye sockets wide as he noticed the door left ajar. Something's wrong. His brother would never leave the door open; it was kind of a pet peeve of his. That and a million other ones. Maybe he left in a hurry? Probably forgot about 'training' with Undyne? He took a few steps closer and walked up the porch. Peering through the window, nobody was home and the smell of burnt spaghetti filled the air. Although this would indicate signs of someone in a rush, he didn't think Papyrus went on an errand or something. Besides, if he did, he would have left a note about his whereabouts. Could he......?
'no......it can't be! it-' His thoughts were interrupted by the sight of grey dust on the floor. He was sweating and felt like time stopped right then, and there. Without hesitation, he rushed inside and, quickly, followed the trail of dust to the kitchen. What he saw traumatized him. There was dust all over the floor and, laying limp, was Papyrus' scarf; ripped in a few places. His face fell and he looked down, his legs feeling weak.
'w-why?.............. i.....i-it was supposed to be d-different........this.......this wasn't supposed t-to happen.' Sans thought to himself, his legs giving out and making him collapse on the floor. He started to sob, each one shaking his entire body. The floor dripping with his translucent tears and his sockets shutting to stop them from coming out. He was gone. Papyrus is gone. He's dead. Sweet, bubbly Papyrus is now dust.
Sans never felt so weak. This time, he didn't see this coming. In all the past resets, he could tell if the human was murdering monsters by their LV or EXP. Then, again, that was the same one every time. This reset had another human fall down. That kid. She never gained any LOVE. She had love, for everyone. Including me. Did she find a way to cover up her LV with some hack? Is she more deceiving than the others? If so, she might be more powerful than expected.
But, Sans can't jump into conclusions. He doesn't know if the human did this. Someone could be framing her; make humans look like blood-lust killers. The other six humans, they were never like that. Sans knew because he watched them. Just in case. Coincidentally, he followed the trail of dust. Once outside, he could see that the trail was leading to Waterfall. The same path the kid took. This meant she may have killed Papyrus.
His eyes grew dark, once again. His hands clenching into angry fists.
'she killed the only person i cared about more than anything. that promise with the old lady doesn't matter anymore. i know she wouldn't like that, but....................the kid could have killed her too for all i know.'
He stormed back into the house and grabbed Papyrus' scarf, wrapping it around his neck. Suddenly, his brother's phone started to ring. He watched the phone intently, wondering whether he should answer it. It could be the human for all he knew and would rather not pick it up if it was. Then, again..................
After a few rings, he picked up the phone and answered it. However, fate wasn't on his side.
¨Papyrus?! You ok-¨
¨don't call this number again.¨ he said aggressively, a blue flame conjuring from his left eye socket. At that, he hung up the phone and leaving Lily very confused and worried.
What might happen afterwards, Sans didn't know. If she has already killed others and will in the future, he does not know either. But one thing is for sure.....................
¨SHE. NEEDS. TO. PAY.¨
¨I will NOT stand here and let that brat hurt anyone else.¨
¨I will be their Judge.
I will be their Jury................
I. WILL. BE. THEIR. EXECUTIONER.¨
¨And she will not have a say.
After all.................
SHE DIDN'T GIVE PAPYRUS A CHANCE.
WHY SHOULD I ?¨
