Mini-Chapter: Adventures!
¨NONONONONONONONONONO!!!!¨ I scream as I run away from what seems like millions of bones. I watch as snow crunches under my boots and my navy cloak wisps with the wind. I just started my adventure and now, I was sent to the wrong place and I am being attacked by psychotic monsters! I hear the insane laughter of my chaser, echoing over the howling winds. It was currently night, a pretty bad time to be lost. I fumbled through my pockets and grab a pocket-sized metallic ball, throwing it towards the space in front of me. I hold my body close as I, desperately, keep myself from freezing to death. I could hear the cackles get louder and louder. My heart thumping like crazy.
Just in the nick of time, the ball opens up a portal and, before I could see my chaser, I ran through the portal. I rolled in, just in case I was sent falling to the ground like last time. However, life gave me a break and I was able to return safely back home. Well, temporary home. Before I can relax, I shut the door that I came out of and locked it; sighing and sliding down against it. Man, he needs to start labeling these doors before someone gets hurt. I sigh in relief and look around the long hallway. I could see the walls lined with thousands of doors meaning thousands of portals to thousands of worlds. It was amazing how he could know where each portal is. Speaking of him.
I hear the light, quick footsteps of sneakers hitting the concrete floor. I look up and watch as the skeleton comes to view. I met Ink when I was looking for a friend of mine and stumbled into his home. I still couldn't believe that this was 11 years ago; man, I'm an old lady.
¨H-Hey! You okay? I'm sorry about that. I really need to pay attention where I send you.¨ he laughed, nervously. On the outside, I was pretty mad for that, but..........I can't stay mad at Ink. He was kind of adorable. His one blue eye and yellow star eye searching me for any signs of injuries. His nimble fingers playing with the soft fabric of his long brown scarf. His child-like face creased into a small and ashamed frown, despite his attempts to act relaxed. I knew Ink long enough to know that he is never relaxed and it hurts to see him like that.
¨I....It's okay, Ink. I should have taken the initiative to make the signs for you. I know that with watching the AUs and stopping Error, you wouldn't have enough time to do something as simple as that.¨ I reassured him, brushing it off. I might be beyond angry but acting upset wouldn't help my situation any better. He smiled happily and grabbed my soft hands into his smooth white ones. He pulled me up and, with the wave of his hands, created a warm cup of hot chocolate. He hands it to me and I, reluctantly, take it. He wrapped an arm around me and helped me shuffle towards our headquarters. As I take a sip of the warm beverage, I start to think about how Ink and I met.
I remember walking across the busy streets of New York to check up on a dear friend. It was in the middle of fall and the leaves started to change when I went to visit. I was a little too nervous to take my car on these backed up roads so I decided to walk. I had on a knitted burgundy sweater, dark skinny jeans, a black beanie, and a pair of long brown boots. I had my earphones on and had my playlist playing softly. I hummed softly as I quickly checked through my phone for any messages.
Nothing. I continued walking and that was when some portal opened under me; making me fall right on top of Ink. To be honest, I was pretty freaked out when I saw him for the first time and I was like that for a week or so. But, in time, I was able to get along with him fairly well. Turned out I was unable to get back home until another human actually 'SAVE's in my world and doesn't reset. And, there has been times when the human, Frisk, did show mercy to all of the monsters. However, they would just go back and reset; continuing this pain-staking process all over again. I didn't understand why Frisk would do such a thing and I asked Ink about it. But he said that they didn't know about the consequences of their resets; they think this is just a game when, in reality, it just causes suffering to all of the monsters.
¨In other words, those who remember after each reset.¨
He also said that his full name was Ink Sans but I just stuck with Ink. He was one of many other versions of himself but he was a protector of the many versions and their AUs, or alternate universes. It was pretty cool, especially since I can, sometimes, go with him to the other AUs. He seemed so enthusiastic about each and every one of them, including the bad ones! I didn't understand how he could love every one of them but, now, I share his excitement for new AUs. He explained to me that AUs were created by imagination of others; others being the fans of the original universe: Undertale. Whatever they created, Ink protected and helped the AU so that it can flourish. Plus, he gets to makes art for the fandom.
I smiled at the distant memory and didn't realize Ink staring at me.
¨Hey, you okay?¨ he asked, a concerned look on his face. I snapped out of it and smiled.
¨Yup, just thinking. You know, it has been 11 years since we met.¨ He hummed in realization and grinned.
¨Oh, you're right! Man, that was so long. You think we should celebrate?¨ he asked, a little sliver of hope in his voice. I giggled at him. He was like a little child sometimes, even when he tries not to. That just makes him cuter.
¨Whatcha' have in mind?¨
¨I actually don't know yet. Maybe just....hang out and have dinner with me and Paps?¨ Ink suggests. I nod; I loved dinner with him and Papyrus. It was always nice. But, something makes me stop. He looks back at me since he walked ahead of me and frowned. ¨Are you sure you're okay? You have that look.¨ Man, curse him for knowing me too well.
¨Yeah, I just want to check on the Undertale AU for a second. I want to see how Undertale you and Papyrus are doing.¨ He raises an invisible brow but sighs in defeat.
¨Sure, just be careful.¨ I smirk at him and hug him. ¨I will. I promise.¨ I say to him before I am taken to Undertale. Because his portals appear randomly in the Underground, I was sent to Hotland. I stepped into the rusty colored sand and made my way to Snowdin. It was a quick walk to Snowdin since Ink told me about the shortcuts that Sans would take. I, silently, opened the back door into the skele-bros house and walked right on in. There was nobody home, strangely enough.
I started to search through the house but nothing seems out of place. Well, except for the untouched spaghetti in the pot. I walked towards the livin groom and turn to see that the TV was on. I walk closer and see that it's Mettaton's show. I chuckle.
'Papyrus must have had to meet up with Undyne and forgot to turn off the TV.'
However, what seems off was what was on Mettaton's show. It was in Hotland and there were several bombs in the area and........I gasp. Standing in the middle of all of it was Lily! She looked so scared and, next to her, Gaster was holding her shoulders. I grab my cell and call Ink.
¨Ink! We have an emergency! The human......! It's not Frisk and I see Gaster with them!¨
¨What?! How can this be?!¨
¨Never mind that, Ink! I need you, ASAP!¨
¨I.....I can't-¨
¨Why not?!!!¨ I shout at him.
There was silence.
Dead silence until he spoke again.
And it made my heart skip a beat.
¨Dust is gone and I think he's in Undertale.¨
