Making Alliances

Third Person Point of View:

While our heroine is stuck in the Void with Gaster, a lot of other things have been happening back in the Underground.

Within 5 minutes, Undyne, leader of the Royal Guard, has made it to Dr. Alphys' lab. She knew that if anyone could help out, it would be Alphys. After all, they have known each other for a long time. She remembers it like it was yesterday; that's how vivid it was to her. The Royal Scientist was standing near one of the biggest waterfalls in the Underground. She looked so focused at what laid beyond what the eye could see. Her white lab coat, swaying with the wind and current of the water.

At that, Undyne shook her head. There was no time for reminiscing on the past; the present is in danger! She ran towards the door and it quickly opened as soon as she stepped in. Like usual, it was extremely messy but Undyne never minded the clutter. She knew how busy Alphys could be with her duties as the royal scientist. But, that's not what got her worried. It was the absence of the scientist herself. Usually she would be on the computer or doing some experiment of her's but.............

Suddenly, by an earshot, Undyne could hear the faint breathing of the dinosaur and followed the sound. As she entered up the escalators, she can see Alphys; searching feverishly through her many screens. She knew that the scientist hooked up cameras all across the Underground; stuff like that doesn't come unnoticed to her.

¨Hey, Alphys!¨ she calls out, her voice out of breath. Probably from Hotland's sweltering temperatures. She never liked visiting this part of the Underground but, for a friend, she would. Alphys spun around, rather quickly, and looked like a nervous wreck. Well, more than usual. She stopped where she was and observed the small scientist. Her eyes looked puffy and bags appeared under her eyes. She looked frantically around, unable to focus on the Royal Guard.

¨H-H-Hey U-Undyne! W-What are-¨

¨No time to explain! Where's the kid?¨

¨W-Why? Are y-you.........¨ Understanding what Alphys was going to say, Undyne shook her head and the scientist eased a little bit.

¨I just want to know if they're okay..........¨

All of a sudden, Alphys bursted into tears; hugging herself. Undyne, a little surprised by the sudden reply, couldn't help but wonder if they were killed. Unable to take the suspense, Undyne bent towards the scientist and made her face her. Alphys was still sniffling, unable to control the tears that came down.

¨Are they...........¨ Alphys shook her head and started to whimper. Undyne was relieved but still confused by why she was still upset. ¨Then, why are you still upset?¨

She wiped her tears and looked down.

¨I.........I c-can't f-f-find her.¨

¨What do you mean? I thought you had cameras all over the Underground? You should be able to pick up a single human.¨ Undyne looks over to one of the screens and spots the girl in one of them. ¨See. There she is now! I gotta-¨

¨No Undyne!¨ she shouted, grabbing the muscular female by the arm. ¨T-That's not h-her.¨

¨What are you talking about?! I know that punk anywhere and no monster isn't going to impersonate a human! Listen, I have to go.........!¨ Alphys still keeps a tight grip.

¨I.........I haven't been completely honest with you.¨ Undyne looked at her with surprise. She would always stutter and, her not stuttering now, isn't something to be taken lightly. Undyne picked up the scientist and sat her on the chair she was on.

¨Then, explain. Starting with this 'human'.¨

Alphys, filled with guilt, explained to Undyne everything that she talked about with Lily. The impersonator, the flower she experimented on, the other monsters she experimented on before, and Dr. W.D. Gaster. Alphys knew that telling the Head of the Royal Guard about Gaster would just confuse her but she once she started confessing, she couldn't stop. After she finished explaining, Undyne understood and promised to help anyway she could.

As the scientist and the royal guard searched Hotland for the girl, there was another person that was searching for her, too.

Sans had been walking around, doing his own thing and what not. He hasn't seen the kid and this deeply frustrated him. His sanity almost disappearing entirely. He could feel the tingling desire for bloody revenge. No, not revenge. Justice. Bloody. Justice. Yet, something felt.........wrong about what he was doing.

Sans has felt a similar feeling before but this urge. This desire. Is.......stronger. More violent. More...............bloodthirsty. Somewhere, deep inside his soul, he still cared about the girl. He smiled softly. Her kind smile. Her sense of humor.

Her love for Papyrus.

Her kindness towards him.

It.............

It doesn't seem like her.

To .......To..........

He felt the same pain in his soul from before. But, it became stronger. Like it was forcing him to throw that belief aside. He gripped his chest and ran to a random direction, which took him to a bathroom. As he shut the door in front of him, he lifted his shirt and saw that the red goo was constricting his soul. It was melted into his blue heart. Like a disease. A parasite.

He ran a shaky hand over his skull as he broke out into a sweat. Sans never felt so anxious before. For what reason, he had no clue. He turned on the faucet and splashed some water in his face. Relief washing over him like the water that is, now, dripping off his skull. His eyes were closed for a moment, trying to steady his beating soul.

Sans knew something wasn't right. That this was not like all the other times Frisk chose the genocide route. All those times, he felt betrayal, sadness, and anger mixed into a bowl to make the same feeling. Over and over again. But, the story has changed. Greatly. As he looked up, his reflection scared him.

His left eye was full of magic, but the color was.......different.

Way different.

It was purple.

In fact, his pupils weren't the usual white.

Instead, they were a dark red!

Sans gasped, fearfully, at his reflection and lightly touched his face. He was a sweating mess. Suddenly, his reflection grinned at him. The kind of grin that sent shivers down the skeleton's spine. The reflection's hood is up and a bloody bone in his hand. Then, it spoke.

¨heh, why the change of heart?~ it's not like the little brat will stop her genocidal journey.¨ Sans shook his head in disbelief, afraid of going crazy.

¨n-no! y-you're not r-real........! y.....you-¨

¨i'm you, smiles~ i've always been you and i have ALWAYS been with you.¨

¨b-but........why are you here now?! why weren't you there before?!¨ the reflection cocks an eyebrow at the frightened Sans. Then, he chuckled.

¨you mean the other timelines?~ i don't know but......i'm here now, aren't i? with my help, we can kill that dirty brother killer! ONCE. AND. FOR ALL.~¨ Sans blinked at the reflection, unable to understand how any of this makes sense.

¨i.....i-i.........¨

¨no need to speak, handsome. give me control and i'll make her death as slow and painful as possible. win-win for both of us. what's it going to be, chuckles?~¨ The being extended his hand out from the mirror and held it for Sans. Sans looked down at the hand. If he did this, Papyrus could be avenged. He could live with the guilt of killing a single human. Not like he hasn't before.

Then, again.

What would make her change?

She has already killed everyone he loved.

And, will probably, kill more innocent souls.

This is his destiny.

He firmly grabs the being's hand and he disappeared.

'alright!~ let's get to the judgement hall and get cracking~' the being said happily as Sans walked off towards the Capital.

However, what Sans doesn't know is that this skeleton is from another AU, or alternate universe. In his universe, he killed everyone; including his own brother, just to stop his Chara. Who knows what might happen if Sans, successfully, kills the heroine! Find out in the next chapters!!!
